  1. I recently scored a brand new Single Line Perfect Pass v6.4 on eBay after my buttons were bad too (bought the boat with bad buttons). Check frequently and use creative searches for those listing them that may not know what they have. My new display was plug and play and it now works perfect. I can't say that v6.4 is easy to calibrate or navigate even after finding and studying a manual. A lot of information and menu's to navigate vs new 2 line displays. I was very close to pulling out 1G for the Stargazer + ZBox upgrade; however, was not sure I will own this boat long enough into my slalom development to need anything more than v6.4.
  2. Exciting product (Listened to the full podcast). I am 2 hours from the nearest slalom course in the winter months; but just 1/4 mile from a public lake. At the price point I can only justify as a tool to improve my buoy count rather than a toy; then again, the entire sport is really a toy/recreation as I don't get paid to ski, lol. At a minimum I would like to see some in-depth testing videos to justify the purchase. As many have mentioned, I would love to see it run through an actual course to compare. Seems like a great product to offer a demo rental program. (Hint I am a professional video producer and would be happy to barter a professional video in exchange for the product). Some constructive feedback from a potential customer (and marketing professional): The bottom line of economics is "the next best thing" so the value of this for me is based on: Can I become a better skier (hence gaining more enjoyment and personal satisfaction) spending $2,500 on the Off-Course versus. spending that money to get more actual course time at a ski school, part time lake membership, gas to a public slalom course... Will it help my buoy count on an actual course vs just free skiing and doing drills? Could it actually hurt my buoy count in a tournament by being off just enough to mess up timing in an actual course? I can get stronger, learn to stack better, turn harder, tune ski; all without a course; but nothing can replace running a course to get your timing down. I am not a short line skier yet but... #goals Is it hassle free enough that the 1-6 hours I may get in a week on the water is not spent fussing with it? Are the consumables cheap, readily available and easy to change out? How long will it last? If my situation changes and I gain access to a course can it easily be sold privately or sold back (obviously for less than new)?
  3. @MISkier thanks for calling me out, lol. I edited the post. Never get your amps and watts crossed up.
  4. Bought my '94 Tige SLM 454 efi that came with a smallish 600cca Battery. Boat also has a 1,000 amp watt stereo with single 10" Sub and 4 mids/high speakers. She has always started but rarely with much authority. I'm thinking the 454 needs more juice to turn over quickly. Nothing like getting to the water and loosing confidence from your crew when the boat sounds like it might not start. I would also like confidence to run the stereo occasionally at loudish, but not lake deafening volumes for maybe a 15 minute period. Between the Big Block, Stereo, Blower, Perfect Pass, and frequent starts-stops and short run times seems a boat battery does not have a easy life. I have read that it may be better to get a single strong battery like the Optima Bluetop D31M AGM as this is friendlier to the alternator than a duel batter set-up? I also like the idea of keeping things simple with fewer wires, fewer connections as well as maximizing storage space. The battery is located behind the observer seat, an additional battery directly interferes with closed bow storage. I would appreciate info on your favorite battery setups and why?
  5. Thanks @Wayne that is what I was thinking. Just coincidence the buttons align up with the times. It is un pluged from god knows what (showing plug end in pic). Had a 1990s era Satelite stereo I think it was related to. I want to relocate a new bluetooth stereo headunit in the location rather than in the glove box.
  6. Not sure but a chance this was just info graphic and the buttons were added later for something else, Satalite radio or soething... I see under the flange of the buttons the word record... But then again, the button array pad can be wiggled to expose the word record...
  7. Bought this 1994 Tige SLM Comp Used. Perfect pass 6.3 Single line display was not working (bad buttons) scored a new single line display and the OG PP working Great. Trying to figure out what these buttons supposed to do. They are not plugged into anything either? What is this "Slalom Times" Pad array?
  8. @kurtis500 I could land a Tesla on top of my 400hp 454 EFI Tige SLM 2000 Comp that is under 3k lbs and weigh about the same as the NAUTIQUE GS22e. With that said I appreciate NAUTIQUE pushing the idea. Pure performance Tesla Better than Taycan, Build quality the Taycan wins. Lucid Air will be a great car and Rivan T1 Truck would be an awesome way to tow the boat to the lake.
  9. As the owner of www.ev-mods.com It is very interesting to see the development of the NAUTIQUE-gs22e It seems a well developed electric drive train would be ideal for 3 event lakes: less noise = more ski sites, instant torque = instant speed control. Surprised the GS22 (never mind the price) seems underpowered. At 5,900 lbs and 265hp 325 tq. Consider a standard Tesla Model 3 is 3,552 lbs with 346hp 389 tq. Seems the issue is the constant draw of a boat direct drive vs a car that can coast and convert brake energy. I don't think the tech is there now for a cost effective electric 3 event boat but expect my daughter will see them.
  10. Free Ski Set at Puddingstone Reservoir San Dimas, CA Feb 6th. 78* Air 62* Water. Only boat on lake for a good hour, but that didn't stop our own rollers from showing up on the otherwise glass:
  11. Does anyone have a contact for Lang Lake in Cameron Park, CA. Just got back into the sport (full on like) and used to ski Lang Lake in the late 1998-99 with Sacramento State Ski Team. In fact; I think @MarcusBrown pulled me literally through my first ever pass in my life there when he was moonlighting as a team member / coach. Think I tried 22 off 34 mph and went out the front almost to shore past ball one. My mom taught the Lang kinds in public school in the 1980's; and live about 15 minutes from the lake. I drove by there Thanksgiving 2020 and lake was half drained. I would love to get a pull there if its still being skied next summer when visiting my folks. They had an ongoing tournament but looks like its been a few years since any mention of the awesome little gem and great family.
  12. I Ski Misson Bay San Diego sometimes. Pic of me below during first set ever there last year. With a wetsuit, USCG vest and new Radar Senate I was floating like a buoy. I missed my pull-up as the ski was so floaty. There is 1.6 pounds more buoyancy in salt water than in fresh. An object with a volume of 1 cubic foot weighs 63 pounds it will float in salt water and sink in fresh water. Multiply this by many other factors and things are different, but manageable. At my level the water feels harder skiing on it, but probably no effect on my score. Skiing a Salt Water Course; I get a feeling, as long as there are oceans we can keep Ballin!
  13. Beautiful Day for First Ski (Free Ski) of 2021 1/16/21 in San Dimas, CA Puddingstone Reservoir. Some rollers but was 85*. Was messing with a new GoPro Angle that didn't work out so well.
  14. I live in Los Angeles County, In San Dimas, CA. What got me back into the sport is our very small one direction rotation Bonelli Park aka Puddingstone Reservoir. About the size of 5 tournaments lakes running parallel. Despite being surrounded by 13 million people; I can almost grantee flat water in the morning year-round. In the winter there are plenty of 70*+ days and I may be the only boat on the lake for half the day on a Saturday. In the summer though; once 3 boats are running, lake becomes un-skiable; luckily if you wait 30min you can usually find decent enough water for a free-ski set. Unfortunately now that I am addicted to chasing buoys; I have a 2h drive to almost any course this time of year.
  15. @Horton are you scanning other threads or we should (re)post here? I am quite proud of my January 14th comment on "Stack What's the Point".
  16. Being Stacked is like the super sick way to ski bra' totally helps like your body and mind connect for a far-out feeling, like the boat doesn't own you, but you are one with the boat. Makes the best looking girl on the dock check you out and be all, "woo dudes so Stacked!" Probably land you a million dollar sponsorship with an energy drink company and bunch of people going to stop you at the grocery store and be all "that's the dude that ski's so stacked" probably want you to show your stacked position right there next to the mustard.
  17. Curious where USAWS Rules Define what a Slalom Ski is? I would love to see some more radical designs. Would active changes to the ski be legal, like active aero in racecars. Wing tip angle changes based on ski speed using a small lipo battery and servo? Active flex / dampening? Additional small center skeg under bindings; helps my boat turn and track nice, lol. No science here, just day dreaming of some radical new designs. I assume these and other designs are rule regulated or tried and failed.
  18. Pretty fun to try and scratch the surface of all the variables on a slalom run outside the skiers performance: Ski Shape, Ski Material, Ski Flex, Ski Weight, Fin, Fin Adjustment, Binding Type, Binding Adjustment, Boat, Boat Speed, Boat Path, Boat Weight / Balance, Water Temp, Water Chemistry / Salinity, Water Depth, Shore Shape, Water Surface Conditions, Wind Direction, Wind Resistance of Gear (or haircut if your @MarcusBrown). All cumulatively important; what keeps the ski industry in business and fun to geek out on, but probably nothing more important than the skiers skill / performance.
  19. @BCM Not trying to highjack the tread but had some fun looking for the Lemoore lake. Always amazes me how many purpose build ski lakes are hidden in California. Turns out 1 of the 2 lakes is now the infamous Kelly Slater Surf Ranch! I always though this was in Northern California and didn't know they built it repurposing a ski lake. http://www.kswaveco.com/ https://goo.gl/maps/bacgDckRrrj139Ur8
  20. Not sure their is a course directly near or around Fresno but lots of Private Lakes 1.5 hours south in Arvin, CA /www.skiwestvillage.org/ http://www.ironwoodlakes.com/ http://www.paradiselakesestates.com/. Additionally 2 hours North around Sacramento https://valensinskiranch.com/ https://shortlinelake.com/ https://bellacqualake.com/. Most all require membership or making friends with members.
  21. It goes without saying be sure to carefully check over the trailer too: Tires, Bearings, Brakes, Lights, Connections... If you are near Chino, CA Pacific Trailers is a great resource (no affiliation). Heading up the Grapevine after initial buyers high wears off; you will be thinking more about the trailer you bought than the boat. Recently had a tire blow out and no brakes on a Boat I bought in SoCal in August. No major damage; but felt stupid for assuming the good tread on tires meant they would be ok. You can buff out some road grime, but being stuck on side of I-5 is no good. I once read statistically you have 45 seconds on the side of a California freeway before you are hit.
  22. 1994 Tige 2000 SLM Comp with 400 HP Mercruiser 454 EFI. Same Hull as Ski Centurion Falcon (Fineline Industries) with a unique blend of Carbon Glass and A bigger EFI Engine
