  1. There is overall in the Junior Masters. 3 spots are held back in each discipline for overall skiers.   What I don't know is if a skier can ski in juniors and open at the Masters.

Forgot to mention. At Travers this weekend, both rounds of men and women's open are on Friday, the 17th.

  2. Here's who is in:

IM SL  Nate,  Freddie, Charlie, Joel, Will.  3 spots avail this weekend

IW SL  Regina, Jamie, Whitney, Allie N, Neilly.  3 spots avail

IM T    Patricio, Jake, Martin, Joel. 4 spots avail

IW T    Erika, Anna, Neilly,  Natalia, Paige. 3 spots avail

IM J    Ryan, Joel, Tobias, Louis. 4 spots avail

IW J    Hanna, Danisheuskaya, Regina, Brittney.  4 spots avail

This coming weekend is shaping up to be fun to watch, particularly mens slalom. In jump, Lauren is supposed to be back. Freddy still needs to qualify.  We may see some unexpected skiers show up too.

Is Jake Abelson eligible to enter as a a junior in overall?

  3. Figured the chart out. It spells out how many spots are avaiable in each qualifyer.  Based on the tournament winners listed above this chart on the Masters website.  So either Regina and Jamie won the five events in open womem.  That leaves 6 spots available, 3 in each qualifyer. Patricio ewon all the mens tricks. So 7 spots are avaialble,  3 at Drews and 4 at Jacks.

  4. One value the old AWSA provided was the Waterways Committee.  We are at a crossroads now with local, state, and even fedearal lawmakers being asked by the public to look at banning or severely controlling lake rights for us. We ARE going to get caught up in the wake board, wake surf backlash. We need our organization to get out in front of this to separate traditional water ski boats.

  5. The vast majority of amateur golfers and tennis players who do play in tournaments and leagues play by handicap, many on teams, even flighted by ability.   Bowling too. Pros play straight up scratch. The 1 good thing about our ranking system is we already have a handicapping base to work with. My favorite tournament last year was Travers Grand Prix pro am. I was skiing poorly and wasn't going to set a PB, but all I wanted to do was bring in points for my team. FUN.
