  1. Sat on the bank now, wind is crazy, I got kinda lucky but after me it got crazy. Pretty much unskiable when it blows up. Calmed down slightly for Joel 39 tail but still tricky, will just had pretty much whitecaps… it’s sketchy right now for the last two Dane just blew out at 3 ball in a mad tailwind… conditions are pretty sketch 😳
  2. I mean, splitting the event over two of the best lakes in the world 40 mins apart on separate days and calling it an overall score is very much not right from a record standpoint. To make an overall score however to decide who goes into masters completely makes sense as everyone at least has a level playing field. Joel said he was the one who argued against it as he said it would not be fair for anyone himself included. It show the kind of person he is!
  3. Why do you think I learnt how to exit so quick 😆
  4. I spoke to Joel today, they were trying to push it to be counted as an overall round but it got changed as that would be a very large asterisk against a world record (his words not mine). Not sure about about other levels or record capability or rankings list but no, he won’t be able to break the world record
  5. Depending on size go for the 1/8th so medium (66) 29 1/8 large (67) 29 5/8 6.845 2.485 0.750 9 I’ve found these settings to be very popular amongst plenty of different levels
  6. Hey, sorry I missed this one and assuming you got something figured already but I would start out with a medium I’ve had no experience personally with the whisper fin, from what I have seen people like the feel of it turning but then it doesn’t hold as well as a normal fin creating less bouys (usually). Slalom is about the path that creates the turn not a turn that creates a path so although it looks fun, I tend to find most people end up back of 5 hole stock fin. All testing on syndicate skis is done with the 5 hole stock fin and this would be the same for most ski brands! An argument could be made for certain levels preferring this fin and i am always a fan of being proven wrong so if you find some numbers please share and if you send a video over I’d be happy to try help out further!
  7. I Could have this the wrong way round but I believe they only have two positions, up or down. The Move happens between 22 and 28off. If I remember I'll check today as on the screen it says when they are engaged to not. You may be able to manually set them down and just leave them there if all you ski is after 28? Also I don't think they do that much other than fill in the trough slightly when down. Its not a deal breaker for skiing.
  8. I remember we had a very odd problem once but essentially but essentially had a big bow wave, put it one way… it would have been a very bad/expensive day without any flotation.
  9. Fairly agressive preturn on TWLO. Everyone does preturn but the way she jumps quite late of a flat ski make it quite obvious. TWLBB looks like it would have been foot in the water before she landed or got to the back
  10. Martin Labra won. He "created" a new toe trick (TW5B) which is pretty crazy to do at a pro event especially for first trick. My angle wasn't great but to land in the reverse, hold it and move straight into the TWBB is insanely impressive. He also had every other pro there baffled which in todays days and age of social media and the small world were in is rather impressive in itself! Tincho_1.mp4
  11. This was/is not a simple fix for me! I have a habit of squating to look for ‘balance’ and often when I get uncomfortable this happens on the gate glide and then obviously builds from there. My brain works quite literally so the main key has been just to not allow my hips/knees to buckle under/going into load and just try to keep my lower body strong. Another big part of it has been trying to be slightly more open out of the turn, this allows my shoulders to work with my lower body a little better to create the right leverage as to where I can hold my position better into centerline. the biggest challenge has been not resorting to overloading to fix the problem, I know if I jam my shoulder in and push as hard as I can my position will be better… but I won’t be able to maintain my direction off the second side. But if I try be too ‘light’ I get caught with the ski under me and my hips drop back again and legs become weak (pretty much exactly what happened to me at 41 on my gate in worlds prelims). So finding the balance to hit my position and still be somewhat progressive with my load had been the offseason goal pretty much.
  12. Not to sponsor drop but that’s pretty much what Marcus and Jenny put together with FPM. A pretty huge catalogue of videos that will answer pretty much any question you ever thought about both on and off water that gets added to constantly
  13. I only come out of the closet on a worlds years from now on 🤷‍♂️ I keep been beaten by too many u14’s 😂
  14. One super simple thing could even be to slow the boat down 2 mile an hour. He’s probably gonna complain that It feels too slow, but it will help him create rythem in the pass as everything is going to get a lot less rushed. As it been said a few times in here, i would say the wakes are his biggest issue. Yes his position could de stronger but it’s definitely usable! In his kind of situation I like to get people to think about holding your speed through the wakes. The Slightly different wording gets people the stop worry about controlling everything and just making the goal to commit to speed through the wake. So instead of thinking pull hard through the wakes, think about speed into them and then the only goal is to hold that speed and position, we are not looking for ‘more’ through the wakes. this video may be a little below his level but should give a sense of what I’m trying to say.
  15. Would the 10-18cm rule apply to your design if they could change the rule book? I’d always assumed that rule was due to a safety concern of your head going through which would be nulled by your design? Maybe have one rule for open triangle handle designs on one for closed?
  16. as a member or the torn bicep because of arm through handle club this is a super interesting concept! Has there been any testing of having a narrower triangle to reduce risks of grabbing the handle in the middle? I know it sounds silly but in big events I find myself getting a little nervous and feeling a lot less natural when getting my hand back on the handle! Would interesting to see how small you could make it before it becomes unstable, even a 1/4 inch could make a difference in the big moments. I guess On the flip side there would be no negatives to having a wider handle to reduce risks or missing the handle on the wide side so pros and cons for sure. Either way awesome idea and would be excited to give it a go one day! Side note… a lot of events we go to do not abide by the 2cm rule for handle measures. And either way lots of places who do follow the rule use a square block as it a lot more durable and accurate (once the L bracket bends). So even through the L bracket may work in theory, unless they’re only going to allow the L bracket at events to use that it could be an interesting challenge
  17. Absolutely insane what Tue does but doing the rotation is one thing… doing it with the handle is another! Unless wakes get bigger it’s for sure an impossible challenge! However I guess they said that about 39off years ago so I look forward to being proven wrong!! 😂
  18. We all use the rip curl flashbulb or O’Neil 3/2 version and they hold up for the season at least! Not cheap but have always worked well
  19. Coaching is great but can be tough to find! A tournament would be awesome as it would give us another perform! it’s the fact we only get one opportunity to ski for all the time and effort. Like you say the loss of night slalom was a big loss as that was one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had on the water! I’ve heard a normal 2 rounds then final format requested before which would be awesome but I think it makes timing tricky for an already tight schedule! I take nothing away from what they organize! The event is amazing and I am sure it is an incredibly tough and stressful event to organize and put together and I wish I could support it but unfortunately I cannot this year! I am however very excited to watch the action and see who comes out on top!
  20. We use this kind of glove for tricks. We have a kid (runs mid 38 in the summer) who slaloms with them but I’ve never tried for slalom. Bearing in mind if I don’t wash my hands well before a set I can barely ski I don’t think I’d be a fan 😆 I’m heading back home this week though and interested to try the blue workshop gloves and see how it feels! Never thought of that!
  21. Costs have just gotten insane for (what I didn’t realize had changed) to now two rounds of slalom (comes to around $2000 a round and that’s only if you make the final 😂) Pay has also dropped to only top 5 as of last year and to break even you still need to come second. I can cover around 4 of the European tour events for the same costs and a lot less emphasis on one event so it’s just not in the cards for me this year. We don’t do this sport for the money (obviously) and moomba is one of the most insane experiences I’ve ever had but enjoying a slightly more relaxed start to the season where I can try work on some habits and be ready for May instead! Hopefully next year 🤟
  22. When I used to ride reflex, in would carve a huge indent after 1 or two seasons, especially in tricks. Wondering if they are offering a protective film or something to reduce this?
  23. Yeah, only minor but helps build load and release for the flips and slows the ski down meaning faster transitions through flips specifically. Does add a lot of grip/suction for release and rotation on ski lines but just takes a slightly different feel than others. I do agree all the models are different in aspects but none really have a life changing feels per-se as you would maybe feel on a slalom ski brand swap. Much less variables to change on the trick skis.
  24. I'm pretty sure very little has been abated in the quantum since 2012 especially in construction or parts. All the ski designers have a slightly different shape but they do very little/no changing from year to year. Pretty sure most of the company's have found a shape they like and stuck with it, the only change being the graphic. Radar kind of went a little off the norm a few years ago by adding some concave and that gives a different feel especially for wake tricks but other than that they all just have slight differences which just means you've got to try them to fins one that fits you best.
  25. Pretty Stoked on how this one came together! Set to 4k on YouTube, get it on the big screen and I hope you all enjoy! ! Went down a little bit of a different route with this one so would love to hear any feedback as always! 🙏 2023 World Championships Video
