  1. Thats good news. They are the numbers that work for most people that end up with them. If you have Shiner Bock, that would be great. ÂÂÂÂ
  2. It was sold to DW in texas. Sorry. ÂÂÂÂ
  3. als Great to hear. I am glad that its feeling good.
  4. Sorry als2104, I havnt checked in for a few days as I was gone. anyway, go to the GOODE web page and look at how they measure the DFT. That is how I (and most others) do it. You have to make sure that the caliper is flat on the ski bottom. Put a white towel on the floor or somthing bright so that if you are looking at the ski with the caliper flat on it, you will be able to see if there is space between the ski and caliper. Just be steady and try to get it as flush as you can. I try to repete it a few times and look at the results over 5-8 trys. You will get a good feel for where your at that way. Space between boots is a personal pref. I like a 1.5 inch spread. Most like the back binding closer then that. they like to have toes touching or very close to the front boot. What type of caliper are you using? I use a Goode and I dont use tips. But I think that 6.94 is close to 6.830 so you are right in range with your length. Whenever I get tip rise after hookup, I move my fin back and it helps me. But that may not be the cure for most people. Just try moving backa nd if it is not working, go the other way. I have always had success in setting peoples Monzas up by sticking with the 6.830, 2.212 and then playing with forward aft on the DFT. Good Luck        ÂÂÂÂ
  5. Figure out the sweet spot for your bindings and go with it. 29.25 is just the reccommended. Trust me on the DFT. Just set up the length and depth to those numbers, and then play with forward aft. Just get in the water an run a pass or 2 to see how it feels. If not good, get out and adjust until you find it. Most people find that .680-.705 is the sweet spot.
  6. I forgot, 1. The Monza Rocks. 2. JTH talks about waterskiing in his sleep. I think he is more addicted to this sport then I am. He was yelling somthing about actual times for perfect pass at 3am when he was sleeping.  ÂÂÂÂ
  7. I am not sure what bindings you have, but move your binding to 29.25 from the back of the ski to the very back of your front rubber. With an approach, that is 1 hole back from the front hole. I run mine at 6.831 Length Flat with a Goode Caliper. 2.512 depth. and .700 DFT. DFT is critical with the Monza. Start by moving back from .710 and take a few passes. You can go all the way back to .680 with success. When ever I have tip rise problems, I move the fin back. I was at .690 for awhile, but just moved back to .700. It is a hard measurement to get. I do it about 10 times and see what the average is. If you were running 9 on the wing with the CDX, stay with 9. Let me know what happens.                 ÂÂÂÂ
  8. Horton,  I am sure he was happy. He ought to give me the 250 I am out as a result of the HO hole pattern and the #1 ranking I gave the 98 at the test. At least a 12 pack of Shiner. LKB, Wim Decree is 5''7 or so and about 150 and he is on a 67 Radar. Trent F is 6ft somthing and 190 and he is on a 66, so who knows. But I would go with the 66 if I was you. ÂÂÂÂ
  9. I tried a 66 Monza cause of my weight change but stuck with my 67. Tried the 9800 for a few weeks and sold it. ÂÂÂÂ
  10. The Monza is the most rock solid ski out there. They have built in plated inserts, and each ski is hand crafted and made in the USA. If you want a ski that breaks down, it is the Goode. DG has no idea how rock solid the Monzas are. I rode my 04 for 3 years and loved every ride on it. From looking/riding the Radars, I would say they are a pretty solid ski also. If Andy is making it, it is a good product. The views expressed in this post are the views of a raving lunatic and are not endorsed by the management of BallOfSpray.
  11. That is some good skiing in the M3 nats with you beating some big names. Not bad John, just think if you could have run the 38, you would have a medal.ÂÂÂÂ
  12. is it just my computer or is it taking everyone lots of time to have the thread open up when you click on it? When I try to open up a thread it takes a few minutes for the new comments to open up.ÂÂÂÂ
  13. Our water gets warm, but only for about 2 months. We will see it go down fast from here on out as the nights get to 50-60f in late aug and sep will bring 40-50f nights. Our long days in jun/jul heat it up real fast. I plan on spending Sep and Oct weekends down south with anyone that will have me.
  14. With my Monza, if i get tip rise at hook up, I always move my fin back a smidge. It takes care of it every time. When my water gets back down to 75 or so, I move it forward again.ÂÂÂÂ
  15. Make sure they have a good rope in the boat. When we went over to the catfish lake, the rope in the boat was about 6 years old. And bring your caliper with, that CA water is strange. INT rocks..
  16. My reasons are Regionals were in KS and nats in baker. Thats 2 big trips in 2 weeks, and I fly for free. I hate that traffic jam from LAX to baker and I almost pulled my gun out a few times last summer while making the drive. I loved the site, the lakes and everything else about baker. It is probably the best place I have been to for viewing and having a good time. The hotels were much cheaper then past national sites. If I could have skipped regionals I may have went to nats, but that rule must change. M3 on sunday in KS had 20 mph winds right down the lake. To pay the money required to enter, hotels, fly and car for 1 set, no way. Nationals is a differant story. I understand the 1 shot in the water and out for that tourney. Why do you have to go to regionals if you need to qualify for nats anyway? Make sure you get to Lengthwise Brew company for a very good Ale and Fish Tacos.      ÂÂÂÂ
  17. Check out Schnitzs site today and look at the Wim Decree video and the explaination given about his speed. It breaks down all this stuff. It is really good stuff.   ÂÂÂÂ
  18. Marco, I think both ways could be effictive, but I am on the 1st. I have a bunch of video of Thomas Moore, Wim Decree and Trent from the boat at a record tourney. All three of them do not get out and high on the boat. They just glide out and head back in a very controled manner.    ÂÂÂÂ
  19. Dont think of it as more angle or greater acceleration. your angle should be the same as all the other lines. I was pulling up high on my pull outs to the gate and bringing a bunch of speed to 1 ball thinking it is the only way around it. Look at Chet or David Miller and how they go at it. They only pull out about 1/2 way or so to the ball line and then the ease their way to the wakes with just the right speed. Find out what that speed is and dont go any faster then that. Chet took one look at me and told me all this. 3 passes later I was running 38. Here is how he explained it to me. You are on the freeway with the wife and kids in the car doing 70. They are sleeping and you are loving life because they are not bugging you. Now you must take the exit to get on to the next freeway. You do not want to go 70 all the way to the end of the exit and then slam on the brakes and then accelarate to get back up to speed. That will wake them up and then they will start bugging you. You just ease your way down the exit and then slowley accelarate back up to speed. You never want to get rocked at all. If you have to recover from sudden movements, you will take hits and fall. Keep your speed steady and make that speed the speed that is needed to run the pass. It takes a bunch of repetition to find it.
  20. For me it was not bringing speed to 1 ball, only bring the speed you need to run the pass. let the ski finish the turn at 1 ball and do not overpull to 2. The shorter the line, the more consistant speed you need. stop/start or fast/slow skiing will dump you at 2 ball every time. I am now at 39 dealing with the same stuff I was dealing with at 2@38. It is the same thing, just magnified more by the extream short line.  ÂÂÂÂ
  21. I have had great luck with In-tow other than that one handle. She is the best.
  22. I have a ARS from intow and it was a restrung Mapple to a ARS. It was 1.5 inches long at the BD in Mi a few weeks back. I have a pen and pencil in the rope now, but I think it streached again. ÂÂÂÂ
  23. If I am wrong, I screwed up cause I never called. I just posted mine and sold it for a loss.
  24. Goode will not refund you if you drill it. Only if you tape your bindings on. If you have been on a Goode, stick to a Goode. Or wait for the 3-1-08 revolutionary new HO. IMO, you cannot go wrong with the F1. That ought to mess you up.
  25. Pulling long or too much speed going to 1 ball. Get off of it eariler goiang at one. Where are you getting your ARS at?ÂÂÂÂ
