Not that I don't enjoy a good Matrix rant, but I'm going to re-hyjack this thread. Wouldn't a hybred system be more applicable to our uses? With them already being common in automotive applications, there would be less development required by the boat companies. I'm wondering if a small motor with a few batteries and a smaller gas tank would actually be a overall weight savings. John, are you going to line up an interview with one of the boat company execs? It would sure be nice to see if they are thinking about stuff like this.ÂÂ
I own my boat with my three brothers. No paperwork needed, just a lot of bitching at each other. For example:"We've had this boat since 1990, you think one of you boneheads would have figured out how to drive a straight line an a constant speed by now!". Or:"All right, who let the kid in the boat with the Cheez-its? Cheez-its don't evaporate out of wet carpet!".
Does he ride stock skis or does he request special skis? What kind of mental preperation does he do before sets in a tournament. What is his practice regiment, off season, in season?
I've heard numerous people mention getting wide on the pullout. I got some instruction from a pro this summer. He said I should only get as wide as the bouy line on my pullout. Mind you, I was working on 28 off, but he understood my goal of getting through 32off. What's the reasoning for getting out wider than the bouy line?ÂÂ
John, If I remember correctly, you haven't really said a bad thing about any new ski you've tried since the last ski test. Is there a ski you've tried lately that you wouldn't recommend over a ski that is 3-5 years old? From the comments I've read lately from everyone trying these new skis it seems like all of the manufacturers are following Denny's lead and making skis that are more foregiving. Do you see this?
Congratulations!! You finally found someone with low standards/vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif Do youself a favor and go on a spending spree. Buy all the toys you will need for the next 20 years.ÂÂ
I'm clueless when it comes to the motivation of a person spreading a virus. Why would anyone take the time to put a virus in your site? Is there some sore of financial gain that I don't know about? Maybe it was a wakeboarder?ÂÂ
You can get hurt in other sports just as easy as you can skiing. I've seen many Achilies injuries on the basketball court. A friend of mine just partially tore his Achilies jogging back down the court after a made basket. Want to talk about back problems, find a golfer. Every sport has it's injuries. And let's face it, the older you get the more you hurt. With that said, find another sport that requires a significant amount of physical exertion where you can improve as you get older. I'm sure there are many people that visit this forum that are way past 42 and still setting personal best.   Instead of considering retirement from skiing, use your obsession to push you through re-hab. Good luck, I hear it's a long hard recovery. Dave
