  1. I have a chance to ski with Terry in about 1 1/2 weeks at Sunset Ranch. Has anyone skied with him? My biggest concern is that it will be my 1st time on the water for the season. Will I get enough out of the lesson? But I guess it could break bad habits before they even start this season... Oh, and I can try out the Z7 ST! The question is do I try the men's/unisex version or the 'pretty pink' women's version of the ski? Do you know anyone that has been on the Diamond? Thanks ÂÂ
  2. Has anyone tried the womens version of this ski?
  3. Is your Ski Nautique still for sale? We might have a buyer for our 2006 SN & some of our club would prefer another SN over the MC promos in the area.
  4. I use Sole moldable footbeds in my RS1s. They flex more than the green Superfeet.
  5. Horton - my very 1st slalom ski ever was a 65" Mastercarft Mirage, wish I still had it to put in the corner with the old wooden Connelly Hook. I would also like my 2nd ski back - a 66" Duvall 9000, I got my 1st pass thru the course on that baby.
  6. Ed is right about rolling up on your toes. Another thing that helped me is to raise the heal of your back foot (if you can) during the start.
  7. We used to travel 250 miles to see the pro tour in the twin cities, but now they are all too far away.
  8. I think I'll visit the boys at Midwest Matercraft next weekend and see how the RS1 fits. I'm also curious about the new Connelly Enzo, it supposedly has an adjustable heal width. Has anyone tried these? I have a pair of hinge wakeboard boots that I love, but don't think there is any way in H*** of coming out of them. ÂÂ
  9. Does anyone use the O'brien BIOs? It looks like they are making them to fit women now.
  10. I'm thinking about switching from double HO Approach boots to Radar RS1 boots. Do you know of any women that use these boots? I am 5' 8" 145-150 lbs with a women's size 9.5(men's size 8) foot. I have always had trouble getting boots to fit without any slop. The best were Animals, but I like the lateral support of the Approach. I currently use an after-market foot bed in the Approach to take up the extra room. Will I get a good fit with the RS1 and the intuition liner? I still plan on using an aftermarket footbed. I also heard a rumor that HO is coming out with a new hard boot/release system mid-season. They supposedly have been working with one of the snow ski binding companies on a releasable binding. Does anyone know about this? Should I wait? Thanks for any input.
  11. $300 blank Good shape with 1 small scratch. Black with red grahpics. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&postid=SIA06421 Also Slot Fin for sale, used 1 year.
  12. I like the following to loosen up my lower back: Sit in the edge of a chair withyour feet pointing straight ahead and knees a little more than shoulder width apart. Cross your arms in front of you (like Jeannie) and bend over from the hips with your shoulders between your legs.try to keep you lower back as flat as possible and hold for about 30 seconds.
  13. We're finally getting some consistant skiing/weather around here. Moved it back and felt better, moved it back more and the ski is a keeper. Thanks MS
  14. I was also thinking right for RFF to make the hip rotation easier. You can practice the different stances in a doorway. But wouldn't going left make the turn more like a (god forbid) toeside wakeboard turn?
  15. What is the best binding placement on a 68" RCX? I'm using Approach boots and have been told that they need to be run 1 hole back from other bindings. I set them at 30.25 instead of the recommended 30.5. The ski was jumping out of the turn.
  16. Do any of you rotate your front binding? If so... why? We are currently thinking that if the front binding is rotated toes out that the hip movement would be easier to accomplish on the off-side turn. We feel that with the front toes pointing directly forward that there is a limit to the rotation available, but if the front toes are slightly out the hips can rotate easlier/further. Now, I can't try this on my own since I am currently on Approach boots and only have the ability to roate my rear boot. But this would be a good excuse to change bindings... Thanks in advance.
  17. That is also a great deal on the Jet Pilot Falcon. Iit is a very comfortable vest. Not as stiff as the A10.
  18. I did about the same thing on my Monza last year. It was skiing pretty good, than all of a sudden I was having trouble running my opening pass. After several day of this I was about ready to throw the Monza in front of a semi and order a D3. I decided to check the fin and found out that it has slipped all the way forward in the fin box. I'm guessing someone slammed the SUV hatch on my fin.
  19. I am a female and currently using an O'Neill fluid which is all neoprene. It is little too long in the body and I have trouble keeping the bottoms up.    This suit is geared toward more of a mans shape. I think the Assault Hybrid would have worked better for me. Bare also has a nice drysuit like the Assault that has suspenders to keep the bottoms up. Several of the women I ski with use them. The Sahara has always been a little too short for me, so if your wife is short I would stick with what has worked in the past.
  20. I also had a 'Coach' last week that tried to get everyone to do a traditional gate instead of the 1 handed gate that most of us were doing. I think it messed up more people than it helped.ÂÂÂÂ
  21. I know someone who skis the Dig Dawg using 'new school' technique. He says most of the skiers are still using 'old school' since that is what is ingrained from years of skiing.
  22. I just recently skied with a pro and he had us going back to a traditional gate. Aren't most of them pushing the 1 handed gate? That is what we were doing, and having success with it. Now he wanted us to pull out sooner than the 55s, ride flat, then turn in for the gate. I was kind of dissapointed since the 1st set pretty much dwelled on this instead of my many 'other' issues.ÂÂÂÂ
  23. I was wondering the same when I got my new Nomad RC. Also are people running the wing up or down? I left mine up, but was running it down on my Monza.
