  1. Kevin, I guess you had the same problem with the digital gauges? Just to be clear, when you changed the chip it resets at zero?
  2. Goofy question, Does PP store the hours on the chip or is it somewhere else in the module. My 2000 ski gauges went out years ago and I discovered for the first time today that PP has an hour meter. I changed the chip several years back and I was wondering how accurate the PP meter was. Thanks
  3. Thanks for the info, Funny but after the first year I have never had to use the code. if I press start twice it will run. In fact I dont even know the code.... I will try and find it.....
  4. I have a 2000 Ski with the key pad and today I shut the boat down then went to start it up again and it started to kick over then shut down. Tried again and all I could get was the red warning light to come on for a brief second. Next time I hit start I got nothing. No electricity anywhere. Checked all fuses and safety switch and nothing. So I suspect its they keypad but before I drop the money for a new one is there anyway to make sure thats what it is? Someone out there has to have some experience with this. I remember when I first got the boat I looked at that stupid key pad and I thought, one day that is going to cost me a lot more money then a simple key ignition would! Thanks, Brian
  5. Does any one out there have video of Marc Bledsoles run at nationals??? or any video of him tricking at all? Thanks!
  6. Thanks Horton... on the boot advice.
  7. When not skiing, do I leave my boot in the reflex binding or pull it out? Just wondering if its bad to leave the spring under tension. Thanks!
  8. Horton, Listen I was only married a year when I went there with my wife and some how I talked her into going to the Ferrari factory. Its only two hours from Milan..... DUDE you cant go all the way to Italy and not go to the factory!!!! You are so close. Lots to see and my wife loved it. One thing drove me crazy. There are signs every where that say do not touch, and every one touches the cars! I saw one old dude trying to climb in Alan Prosts car! Go its a must see! Even if your not a Ferrari fan there is enough F1 stuff there to send you to the roof. Also you can climb the fence and check out Fiorano!
  9. Horton, Crazy 10 years ago I was in Milan and watched it in my hotel room. Cool part is in Italy it runs commercial free. You know Marenello is not far from Milan.
  10. The email I sent Brenda came after the phone call we had. On the phone she tried to blame the problem on my ski. The waterski community is small and I support companies with good customer service and for that reason I will not buy from Brenda again.
  11. I thought the same thing until I paid Brenda $80 for a handle and it only lasted 4 months. I sent her an email with pictures showing the spectra fraying on one side of the bridle under the plastic tubing used to protect the rope. Never heard back from her. I would think in todays economy customer service would be important to any small company.

    ZO Analysis

Here are some random ZO thoughts. First I dont own a ZO boat. I have a 2000 CC with PP 6.5. I have been reading over on Thewaterskiforum the debate on wether heavy skiers are punished by ZO. I saw how this could happen last week. I ski with three different guys on a consistent basis. Andy the beginner of the group weighs 220 and is trying to get consistent at 28. Big problem is he digs a big hole at the ball and gets pulled out of position by the time he gets to the back of the boat. Joe is a Big Dawg skier and weighs 200 and skis easily into 39. I skied with both Andy and Joe last wednesday and I was impressed how "invisible" joe was compared to Andy even at 38. Joe regularly skis behind a ZO boat and says that is his goal while skiing, to make himself invisible. Then on Friday I skied with the 2009 Mens 4 national overall champion, Marty weighs 135 and ran 38 that day. At 135 it was like there wasn't even a skier behind the boat! Even at 35/38 if Marty got out of shape it was nothing like Andy or Joe. I could see how a lighter skier or light on the line skier would benefit from not engaging ZO.
  13. Ed, I did not have the same experience. My handle from Brenda only lasted 4 months and after contacting her to explain my situation she would not return my emails. So I now have purchased a handle from masterline.

    Hip pain

Anyone out there gone from using a rear boot to a toe loop? and if so how hard was the transition? Thanks!

    Hip pain

The Doc is a Cat II roadie and the local hip guru so I have my fingers crossed. Rear boot is a Reflex with the cuff taken off and some plastic removed. When I first got it the back boot had a large gap from the front and was rotated way out. i found it un-skiable. So I removed some plastic from the toe and got it as close and straight as possible to the front. However when I tightened it all up I found that the boot was slightly pigeon toed. As I said one day coming around an offside buoy running late I pushed hard with my rear leg and felt the pop. Im pretty sure I can rotate it back slightly off center and not change performance to much. But this brings up a question. It has been years since I used a toe loop and for those who do, do you ever find that you rotate your foot out? Does your foot ever move at anytime while skiing?

    Hip pain

Thanks for the feedback. I turned 41 this year and I was wondering if the hip might be an age thing. However two years ago I switched to a Reflex binding with a modified reflex rear boot and its slightly canted the opposite direction so like Eric said I think I need to cant it back the other direction. Also, today I set up an appointment with an sports minded ortho.
  17. After reading the thread on hip replacement Im a little scared. Last year while rounding 1 ball I pushed hard on my rear foot (RFF) to get the ski to come around and I felt a pop in my left hip. Startled me but I dint have any pain. This year it happened again at the beginning of the season and now I have pain all day after I ski, kinda of a dull ache. The last two years I have had my bindings real close and I am wondering if this is part of the problem. Any one out there have a similar experience? If so what have you done to fix it? Thanks
  18. Kind of off topic but what is the collar for on Jon Travers vest? On topic, Horton very nice photos and thanks for sharing.
  19. For the Quattro the catalog reads "corelss torsion geometry", I wonder if that is something similar to the warp? Cool looking ski! O'brien is stepping it up and we may need to call Adam the mad scientist.
  20. There is a great video of Wim Decree skiing from 28 through 39. Pretty smooth and effortless! http://schnitzskis.com/skierbios2/wimdecree.html
  21. On Schnitz's site under Okeeheelee 2010 there is a picture of Chet on a Goode and I'm pretty sure I heard the announcers say that he was on a MID. So much speculation on one mans ski.
  22. Drago, Were you there? I thought i heard that Chet was on a Goode Mid.
  23. Aaaaa Hmmmmmm I think all of us planed on trying it! Good point on what a wing could do for you good or bad. DW, question for you. I like what you said about using the wing on a car to provide front rear balance. In a car I would think you would need external forces becuase you cant move the engine around to find balance. However with out a wing on a ski cant you move the bindings to find that balance point?
  24. Don't Will Asher and April Coble ski on Reflex?
