  1. Agree with @Horton this technology will help the drivers that want to be better. It certainly sheds light on those that shouldn’t be driving certain levels of skiers. Tracking technology is a must if you want to improve driving skills. Not only does it allow you to see the path, but you can take the data and study what you are doing with the boat and when you are doing it. I have looked at several paths that looked good by the numbers but were not really great for the skier on the end of the line.
  2. @horton. I believe that those increments are a work in progress. The actual plot for a record is not when the boat is at the boat guides but rather when the skier is at the buoy. So far as a video review goes that is probably three to four frames after the boat guides. I believe that is what they are plotting at the 10 meter points. I know there are discussions working to narrow that down a little more than it is currently set
  3. Great to hear that the entries are more than expected. Hats off to the Bennett’s crew and @JeffSurdej for planning ahead to make the event a success and planning for a large number of entries. Jay Bennett has been busting his butt to make sure this is a great event. People are ready to ski and it’s great that the nationals is happening in spite of the unusual circumstances going on in the world. @sheskis7 i don’t see you registered for the nationals or the trick event but I’m sure they will have the boats equipped to accommodate the skiers who chose the boat with or without weights
  4. It is the good ole USA where we are free to make choices. If you don’t feel safe Stay Home. Those that feel safe will go. I for one am very appreciative for the work Jay and the Bennett’s crew are putting in to make this event happen. And I know all of their planning is with the safety of those on the site in mind. Would be a shame to not have a US Nationals. Seems like tournaments are taking place every weekend. People are skiing and enjoying the opportunity to be outside
  5. Great topic. Although @horton takes some heat. This is a great discussion and one that all drivers should discuss. As I driver, I aim to give the best pull I can while attempting to drive as straight as possible as the rule states. The tolerance is there for my protection as a driver not for me to aim for each pass. None of us can drive a completely straight path but that is what we should be striving for.

I think with the new sure path and ski path technology, the drivers that want to get better will improve with the use of these tools. I think this is a topic that needs to be discussed and addressed after all Those ranking list mean a great deal to the open men and women skiers.

  6. yes

The 41 off pass- The driver was -.05cm away from the skier at 1 ball. at 2 ball the driver was plus 1.6 cm towards the skier. 3 ball boat was away from the skier -3.8cm. 4 ball towards the skier plus 2.1 cm. 5 ball - 8.1 cm away from the skier and 6 ball away from the skier- 2.8 cm. Over all this phenomenal driving by Jeff Gilbert and even better skiing by Adam. The outside number represent the cumulative deviation which was -11.7 cm away from the skier.
