  1. So looks like I'm coming off my FM's and going to Stealths , however they are very hard to come by in the UK. I've managed to find one set the wrong foot forward just for sizing.luckily a very good fit, Seems the front boot is slightly tighter but still very comfy. Out of interest what do people take in shoe size vs stealth size? Ie nikes? Did anyone else find the front foot slightly snuger? Did anyone drop an innersole in the back one ? Unfortunately I can't try another size on but suspect any smaller it will crush the front foot. Anyone know any floating about size 10 RFF ?
  2. switched to a mid for the first time, wish I'd done it when they first come out. No ski has ever felt so natural, the difference in my skiing and confidence is dramatic. And for the record it's not a Goode. Obviously it's down to technique and preference but I question why more manufactures don't do them.
  3. @ral huh? hows my post "of topic" ?? - you do a boo boo?
  4. look for buckles that are hook and loop. there's some really good snowboard ones that I nearly got that works on a ratchet system. issue being is you will need to tip ex where to ratchet them into. or your going to have the inconsistency issue. the hook system you know every time its exactly the same. good luck let me know how you get on
  5. @sully . change the buckles ASAP! I wish I had done it a year ago! the plastic ratchet system will give different fit every time you ski, to loose, to tight.... and eventually the spring will stick. Goode, hmmm >> there's better ones out there. My pall and other top skiers are contently snapping them, the adjustable bar is to long and gets placed under allot of pressure. I went to my local snow ski shop that does repairs, I was more than happy to buy shiny new ones but the guy comes upstairs with a bucket of setups not needed. 6 pack of carona and I got Ali Soloman buckles that are solid! 15 minutes of screwing and the new setup is good to go... only wish I did it sooner. the only problem is you need long bars and teeth as once the liner goes in the boot it has to cover quit a gap. if you can get to somewhere that has them id advise that. (FYI I found most to short) I didn't put the plastic "tongue" thing back on as the new buckles are pretty wide and there's tons of padding. feet are snug as a bug!
  6. possibly the best webcast ive ever watched of a pro swerve event. stella work by Tadd and Fred, keep up the great work!
  7. Thanks @shaneh !! As a person who historically has always had authodox shaped skis looking down at it I did panic at first.. Jump ski sprang to mind. Think I'd freak out on a wide ride. 8 passes down - I don't want to jinx it, and I'm waiting for the catch
  8. Thanks however I need the actual distance from tail binding measurement..I can't believe that they don't have historical/factory settings on the website :(
  9. Anyone got the binding numbers for a 66?? Thanks in advance
  10. Ok anyone got binding location for the 66?? What's the rule of thumb for sizing on this ski???
  11. things are looking very good for the new prophecy...... local dealer has the original Obrien Quattro available on the cheap trying to test both. (slightly off topic) appreciate all the input, so many good skis out this year, also got the new Radar in the mix.. *head spin* so many options
  12. thanks @shane, don't suppose you went on the 12? interesting you say the mapple, I had an Elite and that was by far the quickest ski ive ever been on, all be it bipolar! little dip of the shoulder and BOOM your gone to the next ball... then creeeeeep slowly slowly, *wobble* slower around the ball. then BOOM off to the other side. basically I got the 12 and I need to justify the change, i just wish my prophecy was a little quicker... (bare in mind i ski on cooler water that most)
  13. great review, I actually bought the last prophecy based on feedback and reviews from BOS. *power to the website* @Horton (or anyone else) could answer as you have experienced both 2012 & 2013 prophecy`s. what would you say the main differences between the 12 &13 version? I love the 12 but don't feel its quick enough behind the boat, extremely stable and forgiving. is the 13 any quicker or slower? (maybe quick is not the word i just feel it takes more effort to get the whip,)
  14. if anyone’s guessing at the coated bottom, it’s something I’ve thought about for some time. You just need to look at Mother Nature to find the best engineering. If you put the skin of a great white shark under a magnifying scope the ski is "plated" it feels abrasive in one direction. They have recently adopted this technology in swim suits. I guess the bottom of the ski is using a mixture of the golf ball dimpling and sharkskin… (im just guessing)
  15. Anyone know what the gizmo is on the tip is it just a graphic or what?
  16. great review, question is: worth upgrading from the 2012?
  17. @garn. Thanks , the excuse I need and the explanation that il use to to other other half for buying a new toy.
  18. It's more stabe?? My 12 ski was the most stable ski I've ever ridden. However I feel it was biased, speed lost for stability. Was hoping this years version was a little quicker.
  19. Yeah would love to but the 90 minutes of dismantling the bindings is not my idea of fun. :(
  20. Thanks @horton Hmmm, there must be some benefits to the PVC core. ? Granted the 12 is on the heavy side, and with double fluids it weighs allot.
  21. Ok, Pvc vs Pu = what's the difference other than the weight??
  22. Yeah need a response to this.... Was seriously impressed with my 2012. Looking at getting the 13, I'm more interested to know if they've made any changes. Other than sweet graphics.
  23. you ask the person with the 2k ski and hardshells if he could kindly sit on on a set and give some pointers. that person was probably me. im the only person that skis with double hards and an Elite... (last year) and I spent most of last year (to the annoyance of my devoted girlfriend) every spare minute in the boat as an "observer". however I do completely understand your point and the club in my opinion was WAY to intimidating for the new skier. and as a member I did my best to make everyone feel welcome, spent hours ney DAYS in the boat with people having fun, learning to run the course or getting deep. the club is currently closed with huge concrete slabs on the entrance: not a pretty look :(
