  1. I post very infrequently (like once or twice a year) but read the site regularly for news, tips, etc. And one of my favorite songs of all time is Psycho Killer. fa fa fa fa fa
  2. Congratulations to Lisa - she is one of the most consistent skiers I know. Its great to see her break through that 32 and go blue! Well deserved to a great skier, a hard worker in tournaments and junior development camps, etc. and promoter of our sport.
  3. I put my arm through the triangle on June 19th, and got lucky and ended up with only severely traumatized soft tissue.  I did get a fast trip to the emergency room due to swelling and was prepped for surgery due to compartment syndrome threatening to kill off my nerves. Luckily, the swelling went down before they had to make the call to fillet my arm to relieve the pressure. After a lot of rest and physical therapy, I started skiing again the second week of August, WITH AN ARM GUARD. I agree with kpickett and the mental block. After a couple of weeks of skiing, I've forgotten it is there for the most part. I have wrapped my index finger around the center member three or four times. The first couple of times it proved a distraction, but you learn to just keep skiing and in two balls, you release that hand and regrip anyway. I've also found, and its helped my skiing during my comeback, that if I slow down the grab to the handle out of the turn, and ski to the handle as I'm coached to do, I don't hit the center member. I'll also throw in that TW's service was great.ÂÂÂ
  4. Stacy - talk to Karen and I on 8-08-08 re: RS1
  5. 2gofaster - please provide more information on the bulk powder that aquashade is made from. Thanks We have algae growth at our lake this summer due to unusually clear water for us. In the past, grass carp have controlled the algae. This year we did not add to our carp population after winter kill. The algae got out of control and we just added grass carp and are now playing catch up in controlling the algae.  ÂÂÂ
  6. Another update on my RS-1. Sent off pictures of the ski to RADAR late last night.  Eddie Roberts called first thing this morning and there's a new ski on the way. GREAT customer service from RADAR on this. ÂÂÂ
  7. A follow-up from my comments above. I sent an e-mail to the dealer regarding the workmanship and within ten minutes had a call from the RADAR rep asking for more information and photos. Impressive!
  8. cliveous - I just received my RS-1 on Saturday and my previous ski is a NOMAD. The RS-1 is a 68", with RS-1 boots. I'm LFF, 190 lbs, at 55 kph. I set the fin at 17 1/2" to rear boot, 2.505, 6.855 tips, 0.785, 9degrees. I pulled these numbers from Chris Rossi's site. http://www.proskicoach.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=249  After three sets on the ski, I haven't felt the need to change the setings. I find myself wide at 22 and 28 off as the ski effortlessly casts me out off of the second wake. At 32 off, I am carrying too much speed into the buoy, and will need to adjust either my technique or the fin. I haven't gone blue yet, but am hoping to soon. I'm planning on at least 5 more sets before touching the fin settings. I agree with richarddoane on the ability to scrap out a pass as the couple of times I got late at 22 and 28 off, it was easy to make it up across the course. Other impressions on the ski: workmanship is not up to par with the last several D3's I've bought.  Top skin on the ski is not trimmed very well as it is jagged around the tip of the ski. A spot on the very tail on the bottom of the ski is rough enough that I'm going to ask the ski shop about it. Horton - her bottom may be nice, but I'm not so sure about the white top. I've got a skin on order for her from skiskinz.com
  9. Thanks all, I've got a 68" on order to try.ÂÂÂ
  10. jdarwin - what is your weight and speed?  I'm interested in the RS-1 but haven't decided on a length. I'm tempted to go with a 67" but sales guy is recommending a 68". I'm 190 at 34 mph, currently on a 68" Nomad.
  11. Make that add a diode in-line to the power wire of the fan motor
  12. Add a diode to the power wire to the PP
  13. John - the way I read note b on page 2, type 400 to 400 is the highest strength but not recommended due to part damage or ergonomic issues. The 250 to 400 is the highest performance recommended. I've just obtained some 400 and plan on playing with a couple of square inches of it this fall, as I had a number of late summer pre-releases running 250-250. I would be interested in what others are using for coverage compared to their weight and ability. For example, I'm a 195 lb 32-off skier, using 60 square inches of 250-250 and 12 square inches of 250-400. It would be an interesting database and may help others to dial in the amount of dual lock to use. I would be glad to build the dbase given input from others.
