  1. Thing just going down hill. Lost our lake. now I have blown up my knee. We are working on new dams for our lakes. But I don't know much about medical. I will be seeing a Orthopedic surgeon soon but its nice knowing what your talking about. Got my MRI back and it looks BAD. I hope I am wrong! A lot of medical jargon. I will likely be in my mid 70's before we have water again like 2026. So will I be able to recover and ski again or just hang things up?
  2. The two big lakes Wixom and Sanford are gone. It will take four to five years to rebuild. We are working on the start. No earth being moved just trying to get the land out of the hands of the owner who neglected to do the maintenance. Engineering, all the hoops to get to the ability to start reconstruction. And the big one finding the money to take on the work. Looking at three hundred million for the repairs to all the dams. And its four lakes and dams. If someone wants to see more of the dam breaching just Google Central Michigan dams breach . One good thing No lives lost! Many homes and business lost. Just so much work to do. I have been working on this for over 13 years before the dams broke. The owner was something else to work with I would tell you what I truly think of him but I may get thrown off the site. Ya other lakes around but I have been spoiled. Up at sun up walk down to the boats ski two three hours and start the day. I live on one end of a narrow section one of the other ski partners lives on the other end 2 1/2 miles up the lake and two others between. Very often glass in the morning. The lakes around are hard to get good skiing. Very open and one very corked and narrow. 2020 has been a bad year in so many ways!
  3. I only wish I could have the saddest day this year or for the next 5 years! Our dam breached May 19 this spring. The only good thing was because of family medical issues I did not have my boat in yet. I have never been that late. So my boat never left my garage And I don't see it doing so for some time. Hope all of you have had a good year!.
  4. plus one on the one's at Harbor Freight. They work and when on sale very cheep. I have a hi end set that we used well racing but the Harbor Freight have been repeating and no big deal if something went wrong like drop in dirt or water.
  5. Plus one on "The mechanical issues are no big deal. My thoughts on the electrical might be to pull as much of the wiring harness and let it bake in a very low temp oven a day or more. But that is the best bet for issues ECU's switches all the other electrical. Many long term gremlins can be water inside the wire insulation. If you could get them dry who knows?
  6. I have A 07 Rlxi I will sell. Low hours very nice shape. I would not even be thinking of selling but we lost our lake and don't think we will see a new lake for five to six years at best. 989 434 8325.
  7. Sent a next day USPS envelope from Midland Mi. to Cadalack Mi. 29 Days later it was delivered. I could have walk it faster. I am sending my 2024 vote next week!
  8. I use two kitty litter buckets full of water in another brand for driver only. I ski up a lake to pick up a third and am not going to let the first run of glass go! The tops snap on and don't leak much. Oh they fill and empty very fast.
  9. I will sell you an 07 Rlxi for a bit more! We lost our lake and don't expect to get it back for six years or so, and $200 million. It just does not look good in a garage!
  10. I would have bought a SS LXI if it was in production in 07. The 99 - 04 SS LXI skies as good as my 07 R LXI. I don't know if I could tell with boat I was behind if I were blindfolded. I also think the fit and finish was better on the SS LXI. I ski both The SS LXI may have a bit more splash spray. But it skies much better without weighting for driver only. I will go with that at least up to 35 off at 34 to 36 mph. I have been kicking around selling my boat as we won't be skiing for six more years on our lake. And I don't feel I could not replace my boat with a better tug easy. I have two friends who have 99 and 03 SS LXI's and both are hanging on to them just for the reason they don't fell they can replace them for the value of the boats. I also like the trunk on the SS.
  11. Dammer I wish I was looking for a new to me ski tug! Love skiing the 196.
  12. Not being a Chevy guy I will say the 10 speed trans is the same as in the Ford line. They each do there own calibration to match the power train requirements so may be the old GM trans temp issue will go away. MAYBE! The trans was a joint venture Ford & GM .
  13. Could be they will kill the sport on there very own. You can't keep this up in small lakes. I don't know if anybody that think 100' or 200' from shore makes a ton of difference. The water surge is still present just quieter. Suename don't travel over a ocean and dissipate nether do wakes. They change shape not strength.
  14. And the boats continue to get larger more ballast and louder sound systems.
