  1. Yeper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The freezing is not the killer. The spring ice floats can kill A lift with no problem!!!!!!!!!! If you are in an area that is protected you can do it but I would not and don't. My lake can look open one day and a wind can move an ice float in and it may look completely closed in an hour. To costly to even think about it.
  2. For me my ski boat is just that. I would likely move to a smaller boat. CC196 or Carbon Pro. Don't need anything fancy just a supper ski tug. I don't see the new boats being so much better that they are going to make me spend the cash for them. I also like simple, Dash, no Cats is a plus but that might not be depending on what I could find.
  3. Much of our early skiing is in dry suits but I have skied in March in a shorty. One Week after we were back in dry till mid may. But then that's Michigan. Last year I skied in a shorty in Oct but back in a dry the next night. Day by day for me. I am so use to dry but can't what to get to a shorty.
  4. Loyal maybe but not really. I have owned my Malibu from 07. But then I had some constraints when I bought it. Wife wanted an open bow and I had a very good Malibu dealer at the time. If it would have been just myself I would likely have A CC196 on the lift. As for skies I have moved around. H O, Goode, and D3. I have picked what I thought made my performance best and still forgiving. I need forgiving! And still on Wiley's for bindings. But then I know none of them have been the limiter in my performance. Still looking for something that can fix Old and fat.
  5. Speedy recovery! I hit something years ago and could never find anything. It crushed my Goode 9500. Sent me flying! Never thought about it but we do have some big turtles. Oh ya Goode gave me a new ski.
  6. So I find myself not just doing A good workout but more often then not trying to do better then the day before. Do you find yourself competitive in your workout or just have a good workout? Most of my off season workout time is done at home on machines so its easy to see numbers. I even go back years to look at how things have gone over time. After all I am getting younger or do I have that wrong. Is it good to be competitive with your workouts?
  7. All I will say is I would look at a Dry if you like cold weather skiing. I go from Dry to a short. I have only used my long wet suit once in the last five years. Buy I am in the north and some of our best skiing is early spring and late fall. So we get a lot of use out of our dry's.
  8. 66 and don't see skiing coming to an end. We don't have a course anymore ( Thanks DNR) but love getting better not just skiing! I run at 35 off @ 36 just because it feels good and is fun! I do know how humbling a course is but I know if I had one I could give many a ran after a few months to get timing back. The newer boats and skis are amazing. They can mack a super old fart!!!!!!!!!!! Ya HOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo! Crap now that the season has ended I have moved back to the mechanical equipment to keep tuned up and that just does not make me smile like an hour or two behind a good boat.
