  1.

To all skiers, sponsors and friends

We would like to ask each and every one of you for a favour. Albert Dyck Park, home of the Fraser Valley Watersk Club (www.fvwsc.org), in Abbotsford B.C. Canada, is under the threat of a private company proposing a cable park be assembled in Albert Dyck Lake, which would put an end to traditional waterskiing on our lake. We have reviewed the cable park proposal and based on their requirements we would not be able to run a boat or host three event waterskiing in the future. We proposed sharing the lake with them, but they were not interested. We have held many Pro, International, National and Regional events at our lake and as well as teaching hundreds of people of all ages to ski/wakeboard, as well as having many people from all over the world, come and ski with us. We do not want to lose our site. We would appreciate a short letter of support from each one of you to help save our lake and club. Please include your name, address and email as we believe if we have people from all around the world send letters it will help. Feel free to e-mail either one of us if you have any questions. Thank you.

Below is a sample letter and our email address.

    To whom it may concern

Albert Dyck Park is a world class water-ski facility. The Fraser Valley Water-ski club has hosted many National and World Class Water Ski and Wakeboard tournaments in Abbotsford over the last sixteen years.

To terminate the sport of Water Skiing and the Fraser Valley Water Ski Club would be detrimental to the community, the sport and many of us that travel from all around our Nation and the World to participate in such events.

    Please support Waterskiing in Abbotsford

Please copy this letter or write your own version and send it to

  2. I have been on all the forums for a couple of years now, the last 6 months or so, just on this one. I have posted on the other forums and a lot of the times when I did post something, some smart ass remark was made. Some guys go on them just to piss people off. I don't have a lot of time to post things so because of that, I am not going to waste my time anymore and post on the other sites. That is why I like this site. Keep up the good work John, you do a great job.

I have been a member of the Fraser Valley Waterski Club (www.fvwsc.org) for 15 years and the president of the club for the past 2 years. Have been skiing since I was a kid and love slalom skiing, PPB 4@38, TPB 3@38  I hate ZO, ski on a Goode 9900 Mid Ride. Our club skiies behind a 2010 Malibu Response.
  4. We have had Trent at our lake a couple of times in past few years and he has done a great job. Not only is he a great coach but also a great guy, very friendly. He will be at our lake, with the Fraser Valley Water Ski Club, in Abbotsford B.C. on July 10 & 11, and we still have a few spots left. If anyone is interested please send me an e-mail at waterskicorey at hotmail dot com or check our web page www.fvwsc.org under clinics for more info. I am looking forward to skiing with him again.
  5. If you are using an O'neil Assault dry suit, tuck the seals on your ankles, about 2 or 3 inchs, to the inside on your legs and you will get no water up your legs. I also use shrink wrap around my ankles so no water gets in during your turn.

  8. Hey Tuney

I have a 06 66in HO System 8 for sale that is like brand new, it was my son's who used it for a 1/2 season and then quit skiing. I will give you a great deal on it. If you are interested send me an e-mail at waterskicorey at hotmail dot com. Also I live in B.C. if that makes it easier for you not bring it across the border. Thanks and good luck finding a ski.

  10. I just got a 68.75 A1 to demo and I want to know where the front and rear bindings should be mounted. It doesn't say anything on the HO web site. I am using Goode Power shells. Is it the same as the Monza? Thanks
  11. Sorry to hear about your injury. I have torn both of my achilles waterskiing and I also had to have my knee cap removed when I broke it playing hockey 10 years ago, along with many other injuries. Just got back on the water after 6 weeks from a torn bicept muscle. I'm 46, with a pb of 4@38 and I know I can ski better. There is no better sport in the world than chasing ball's. All I can say is don't give up or you die. Trust me you will heal from your latest  injury, I did and it doesn't bother my skiing at all. I skied about 5 months after both surgery's on both my achilles, so it won't be long before you are back on the water. Work hard on rehab and look after your body. I was riding a exercise bike, and lifting weights with a cast on both times a week after surgery, all I could think about was getting back on the water doing the sport I love. THAT is what keep me going and working hard. Good luck with your rehab and DON"T give up.

    Corey
