  1. @Chad_Scott, Thank you for pointing out that HGH and EPO are not tested for with urine samples, and require a blood test. Both are extremely hard to detect accurately and have comparatively short half lives. Just ask Lance Armstrong, or the NFL players association. I applaud your efforts, and love that @David Miller posted his test. Fun to see the list that is tested. I think most would agree that a big cardboard check and dozens of fans is hardly worth hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I look forward to the progression of what is an important discussion initiated to protect the integrity of the Dig Dawg series. In keeping with Hortons rules for this thread. 2. @‌rawly Did you really pull the trigger. Mine was shipped from TN.
  3. I was the driver for Horton practice PB. It was totally legit. The 3 at 39 was not the impressive part. The 38 off pass was what impressed me. I have driven for Horton a lot, and for every different ski he has tested. Even a bunch that never get written up. The 38 pass was by far the smoothest and easiest to drive. Some times you really have to be on your toes to keep it straight when Horton gets past 32 off, but I barely felt him on the 38 off pass. Did not see any of it because I was busy trying not to run over his rope, but it sure felt good. The Warp has changed his skiing for the better.
  4. @Dirt, Horton struck his deal too late in the year to make it happen in 2014, same for Bob E. Centurion. We are talking about a fun format with those boats in mind for July 2015.
  5. I tried to add another tournament to our lake in July and had membership approval to do it. We could not get boats for the approved weekend. Not a single promo boat was available in our area. There are 14 ski lakes in Bako and not one USA Waterski sanctioned tournament in July or August. I think the boat issue is a big problem for many, and has been discussed previously.
  6. I would love to see some video from Little Mountain. Nate as well as others. T-Mo is a super technician and someone I have always appreciated watching. Someone must have video to post. Skied the first tournament of the year last weekend and there were more D3 Quest than any other ski by far. We are in D3 country so it is a biased sample, but was still surprised by how many were already on the ski. I am sure Nate killing it can only help sales.
  7. There is no magic speed or line length where it is right or wrong. Either it helps or it does not. Try a wing and if it feels better and helps leave it on. If it does not help and feels worse, take it off.
  8. This access to information and this type of thread is what makes BOS cool. He is out.
  9. I suppose you could tangle with it during an out of control fall, crazier things happen behind the boat all the time. The good news is that all the edges are rounded and it only reaches down the side to the just above the top bevel. I am sure you could some how do a filet of shin, but it does not look too menacing in person.
  10. Tried the SFE and then watched (while videoing) Horton. Pretty much felt the way Horton described it. He did better with it than me. I guess that is what happens when you ride ten different ski s a year. Horton was off by a factor of 10. The SFE is set up at 1, 2, or 3 mm from the side wall of the ski. Some people testing it are running different numbers on offside than onside.
  11. Do you want to buy one of my lots?
  12. I was getting really tired of Horton killing it on the Quest while I struggled and provided him with endless entertainment and fodder to crack himself up. Finally this weekend I found the correct combination of binding placement and fin settings. Moving the bindings back from factory did not work for me as it has for most. The biggest change that helped was shortening the fin from 6.933 to 6.915ish the shorter I went in tiny increments the better it felt. Tons of space at 35, but too early in the year for a serious poke at 38. While bobbing around in 80 degree water as the rope was shortened yesterday I specifically heard the phrase "best ski ever." The way he is skiing on it right now I am glad Horton is getting ready to review something else. I have heard a lot of preliminary idea so it will be interesting to see what official review will say.

  14. @schroed- just saw your length and numbers on one of the other Quest threads, but still receptive to any insight.
  15. @schroed - Hi Steve: Are you skiing on a 67? Where did you end up with your binding placement that worked the best for you? I started at factory (30") and have moved back an 1/8. Tried a 1/4 like Horton, but that was too much. I have not tried moving the rear binding. That might be a good thing to try tomorrow. Been adjusting DFT mostly .75-.76 range. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
  16. Close to the truth, but you know who had it in between.
  17. I have watched Horton ski on this ski a bunch this spring, and drove his successful early season 38 off pass yesterday, and he has been all smiles most of the time. It never does anything radical, and despite his best efforts to over ski it, the ski always stays with him. I am not having the same extended honeymoon, but I am doing everything I can to make it work. I am not a patient tinkerer and I never break out the calipers once a ski is set. After it consistently feels good I attribute any problems to the skier not the ski. The Quest in my opinion is extremely sensitive to fin adjustments and binding placement and I have not found my magic numbers yet. Seems like it is harder than usual to find the right settings, despite the numbers that have been shared on BOS so far. I am going to swap bindings with Horton next week and compare skis. I have always loved D3 skis, and I do not want to change the sticker on the rear window of my truck.
  18. There is some truth to Horton's observation. He was driving the first set when the boyfriend made is comments. After Horton picked himself up off the floor of the boat I ran a couple of 35's and finished the set. Second set Horton sat in the observers seat and said the boyfriend was right I need to try harder. What he was observing and commenting on is that I tend to get some separation and even though I run the pass easy enough I can be much wider and earlier with better mechanics if I am stacked with no separation. This is true particularly off the second wake. With that said I focused on just that one single thing and found myself much earlier with a bunch of space before the ball. I will bet although I was "trying harder" it looked even easier, just like I wasn't trying very hard at all.
  19. Bangle tiger is from the TV Duck Dynasty. Kind of funny for 5 minutes, but my teenage kids love it.
  20. Anybody notice what ski Horton was riding today. Looking forward to his thoughts.
  21. Save your money and eat right by following the USRDA guidelines. Americans have very expensive urine and feces thanks to the effective marketing of unnecessary supplements. We read the ads and have a good laugh in the lab from time to time.
  22. I have an 03 196 with key ignition that fits the criteria for the upgrade kit to E-control and Zero Off. I have not talked to anyone that has done this and this thread kind of died with only one example of someone doing the conversion. I would love feedback from people that have done this project themselves. I have emailed Time at Inboard Solutions, but I am still a bit nervous about pulling the trigger.
