  1. Palm Beach County Parks sent in a large clean up crew early this morning. By noon they had removed 90% of the downed trees and debris from our 2 roofs and other items. They have already started construction on a new roof for the main judging tower. The new roof is expected to be complete on Friday along with reconnecting the electric. The roof for the Turnpike starting dock will not get replaced at this time. We will use a canopy on this starting dock for Nationals and rebuild the dock this winter. A quick response from Palm Beach County Parks and the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches will have Okeeheelee Park 100% ready to host the 2015 National Championships starting next week on the 11th.
  2. Buy Samsung, it works perfect with Wakeye and Coach's Eye.
  3. Sorry to say that Rob passed away awhile back. Great guy and a good friend. He was a master at the Fogman set up. I created the CAD files for Rob in all sizes for the release plate, boot plate, and releases. I'm not interested in making any parts but I would pass along the 3D SolidWorks files to anyone interested. These are not old school 2D drawings. They are 3D solids for CNC machining.
  4. I installed one at Okeeheelee to see how it would do on sun fade. No answer because it didn't last a full day before a skier hit it and it lost all floatation.
  5. Check out this site and talk to Nancy Jackson for homes in South Florida. http://www.okeeheeleerealestate.com/
  6. Take a look at this fully loaded 2011: http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Comp_Boat&postid=26466 He could pick it up in warm South Florida and ski for a few days to kick start the season!

  8. In the Southern Region, Regional records can only be set at the Regional Tournament (once per year). The Florida State records are also done this way.
  9. @MISkier Our tournaments are all run just like a class R and like you stated, our scores are in line. However, that is sure not the case and some sites. After awhile, you know who is real and who is not.
  10. It's easy to look at the ranking of some skiers where their class C scores are a full pass better than their class R scores. Those class C tournaments typically have a small group of skiers where everyone involved is benefiting from something that would not hold up in a class R. I don't understand why someone would want to inflate their ranking and then never live up to it at Nationals.
  11. Up by 2 buoys to 1@41(10.25M). Nano One!
  12. @ral, with the right combination of cameras you can locate your central tower between 2 & 5. The angle is not important because of the video feed from your gate cameras. See IWSF rule 14.11: Slalom Judging. In the US, we must run under IWSF rules for class L and R, same as you. I hope this helps. BTW... you have a nice site!

  14. @skibug I've never timed installing it but I would say I can easily install it and read all 3 numbers in under 30 seconds. Another time saver is to try and change length. With Axiom, I can see that this also changed my depth and my DFT. I can then set them back quickly. Also, if I give you my Axiom numbers you could simply set your Axiom to those numbers then pull your fin into position and DONE!
  15. I have not used my slot calipers since getting my Axiom. Why would I waist my time chasing my tail from length to depth to DFT. My time is more valuable and would rather spend it skiing!
  16. Go to Lowe's where they sell paint thinner and buy Lift Off by Motsenbocker. I soak the leftover foam/adhesive with Lift Off and let it set overnight. Then, you can just push it off with a plastic paint scraper. Clean the surface with alcohol before placing down anything new. This process works fine on Goode skis.
  17. The real reason is that we needed to keep it to 16 skiers for head to head. We want to promote water skiing to the younger groups and keep them excited so they will stay in the sport. The layout of this event will end up with a junior skier skiing against an adult (maybe Open) for the final 2. How cool would it be for a G2 skier to go up against a Open Men skier and win. I want a photo of that podium! There was never any thought to keep M2/W2 out. These events are the start of making the Nationals more exciting for all to attend. As President of the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches, I'm proud of everyone that has worked to make this happen. Charlotte Melchers has been the key organizer of these events as well as the Nationals. The sponsors have shown fantastic support!
  18. The Ski Club of the Palm Beaches, host of the 71st GOODE Water Ski National Championships, is teaming up with Eagle Sports, GOODE, Centurion, Masterline USA and Nautique in bringing some additional events to the 2013 Nationals, which will be held Aug. 13-17 at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Fla. On Wednesday, Aug. 14, Nautique, Eagle Sports and Masterline USA will sponsor the Nautique/Eagle Slalom Swerve, which will pit the top-two finishers from the Nationals in the Boys 2/Girls 2, Boys 3/Girls 3, Women 1/Men 1 and Open Men/Open Women slalom divisions in a head-to-head (handicapped format) competition. Prizes from Eagle Sports will be provided to each skier, while the Open winners will receive a cash-prize award from Nautique. If one of the top-two finishers cannot participate, the next-place finisher will be invited to participate. The event will take place at approximately 4 p.m. (at the conclusion of the day’s events) on the Main (North-South) Slalom Lake. On Saturday, Aug. 17, Centurion, GOODE and Masterline USA will sponsor the Centurion/GOODE Dual Boats Slalom Swerve, which will pit the top-four finishers from the Nationals in the Men 3, Men 4, Men 5 and Masters Men slalom divisions in a head-to-head competition featuring two skiers and two boats on two courses running side-by-side at the same time. First-place wins a GOODE ski; second place wins $600; and third place wins $400. If one of the top-four finishers cannot participate, the next-place finisher will be invited to participate. The event will take place at approximately 4 p.m. (at the conclusion of the day’s events) on the Main (North-South) Slalom Lake. These events are in addition to the Nautique Big Dawg World Tour Championship, which will take place under the lights at Okeeheelee Park on Friday evening, Aug. 16.
  19. @eleeski, I can see that you have not driven the benchmark (SN200) or you would not be making such a fuss about how well the MC drives. The MC is a fine boat but they need to work on the tracking so everyone can get a good pull. As to your comment about there must be something wrong with me. In record tournaments this ski season, I have driving 5 of the 43 off sets that have been run.
  20. @Eleeski of the top 4 boats, the MC is at the bottom of the list for tracking and steering. I like skiing behind the MC if I can find someone that can keep it in the middle of the course. For me, they need to fix the way it drives. I can handle the way it skis. The rest of it does not matter if the boat away from you at every ball anyway. I was once a 20 year loyal MC owner!
  21. We have a contract with CC for all slalom practice at Nationals.
  22. @gator1 make sure you are going for a utility patent not a design patent. Design patents are a waste of your money.
  23. Stay tuned, @smilinjim is working on some videos of the Axiom to show it in use. He also has plans to get one to @Horton for an un-boxing.
  24. @Waternut, I did the same thing with a bunch of high-end digital calipers. I had the shop cut them with a wire EDM. They work well but like @MS said the head of each caliper was different, so the numbers were not all the same. Now, if everyone would pony up and buy an Axiom, we won't have these issues. ;)
