  1. I'm 5'9 220lbs ski 34 into 32. I'd like to try the mid or the wide? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
  2. I ski an A-1, and have been noticing a light colored ruff patch about 3" long just in front of the fin. my problem is, I flew to Florida and the ski started skiing different, and has progressed to a complete dog out of the ball! What should I do as I've had the ski for about a year? Call HO, or just eat the ski? Anybody else experience anything like this??? Thank you!
  3. I just installed mine, so must be new? I wasn't impressed....
  4. I just installed SG on my 03 CC. Does anyone have any input on getting everything up and running correctly? I went out to the river and tried the capture mode, which worked well up river, but not with current. it kept surging around 70 rpm or so??? Current is around 2mph? I'll be going to the course next for baselines..... Thanks for any suggestions!!
  5. Thanks for the help. I probably am stiff at the end of the turn, that makes sense. For the placement of the boots, I've been two holes forward of where I'm at now. The ski has way to much drag and doesn't release of the wake. I am going to try more dft today @.800, and 25 thou more tip?? Ski is A-1 68.75 6.840 tips 2.508 .790/ 8 on wing.
  6. I have switched from the RS-1 bindings to a Reflex front with Wiley rear. I like the set-up, but I 've been having an issue with my offside turn being a little slow to complete. I've tried the tongue insert, but couldn't get used to it. I tried without and it helped, but not as good as before. I've gone forward and back of stock, but it's just not feeling like before???? Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thank You.
  7. Any body know what the latest and greatest dry suites are? My O'Neil is shot! loved it, except for the tight mid chest band inside. Thank You...
  8. Thanks again for all of the advise! I'm 215lbs, with a Wiley rear. I was told I could go 8 or 9, so I'm starting with 7????
  9. Thanks Guy's. What about the release setting???
  10. i just purchased the reflex front binding. I've noticed people with the liner cut down to the top of the hard-shell. What's the purpose behind this, and if it was better, why don't they come this way?? Thank you!!
  11. I just had a crash around 3ball last week, I definitely think they should have released but they didn't. "the RS-1's" So now I'm setting here waiting for my ski tec system to arrive, and my ankles to heal. Not a good time of the year for this to happen! Oh, I actually ripped the rear binding, all five inserts and all off the plate. No release, and the lases weren't tight, and the liners were molded. No Thanks!!!! ÂÂ
  12. I'm going to be new to tournaments this year, so my question is should I spend the money to upgrade to SG, or just stick with my PP Classic and switch?  Also I like ++ 15, is that the closesest way to mimic the ZO? Thank you!
  13. Here's what I've found with my A1. stay with 6.840 tips, 2.508! Don't adjust from there, it doesn't work!    DFT is .770 stock. That's the only fin adjustment I make for this ski! I base my dft on plaining angle, and heal side turn. I'm currantly @ .795 with water @ 55.  RS1 bindings 1/8" forward of stock. I've been both foward and back of stock. 1/8" foward is best!!!! For wing, 7 for 32, 8 for 34, 9 for 36. That's what works best for me here in the COLD NORTHWEST. I'll be heading to Chet's tomorrow "THANK GOD" /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif
  14.  Scot Jones,  Awesome article on soreness! You answered a lot of my curiousity about that. Also, I'd love to hear more about how skiing affects our body, and recommended training for this great sport! /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif
  15. Amen my Brother!!!!! The light is around the corner!!!!! /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif Free Ski in March, and Florida middle of April. Also, speaking of Florida. I improved in 08 substantially, because of Chet, and a little of the A-1.
  16. MS, I agree with you completely! I'm also as early as I've ever been, and I keep getting more and more confidence on this thing because it never blows out. Not to mention it seams to build angle and maintain it like nothing else. Also, can anyone explain why you have to generate more speed at 34 than 36?? "At least that's what I'm being told by great skiers at my lake"
  17. Chef, I'm around 10" on a good day! Ha Ha! I ended up with the 68.75. I'm 215lbs and actually liked both but this one carries more speed through the turn which is what will make my skiing more efficient. At least that's what I'm told?
  18. MS, I've been told the A-1 is slower than the Monza. What are your thoughts on that? I'm on the A-1 now and I think it's by far the best ski I've had! This person tells me it's a 36mph ski, and for 34mph you have to generate more speed. I really don't understand that, could someone please explain????
  19. I've had the 67.5 and the 68.75 A-1, and the boots 1/8" forward of stock is way better! stock #'s for all is 6.840 tips 2.508 .770 DFT 9 wing. I've found 8 on the wing is better for me, and the stock #'s are the best. I just go forward with DFT as the water cools. In the summer we were about 78 on the water, now about 57 and I'm at .790on DFT. The ski completely rocks! I base my DFT movements on how well the ski comes around, plus when you feel like you'll go OTF on the wakes, time to increase. /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-money-mouth.gif
  20. John, I noticed on the A-1 all you did was go with 9 thousands less depth. I'm curious what you'd recommend for water in the 50-60 range. I keep increasing DFT, which is what I think I should be doing to keep my radius tight? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!  ÂÂ

    Toe side pull

Thanks guys! I went out last night and really tried to ski wide on my 2-4 lff. Really helped I believe with the ski speed, not to mention not having the urge to look down at the buoy because I was earlier than normal. so yes, I think I was not staying stacked and keeping shoulders level, hence maintaining speed and balance. I should have realized this, but sometimes it's nice for others to reinforce things! Thanks again! /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gifÂÂÂ
  22. I need help on my toe side pull! Can anybody tell me how to stop letting my hips fall back and shoulders coming forward on the completion of my toe side through the exceleration phase? It's killing my pass!!!!  Thanks!
  23. WSKIER, I was on a 08 70" F-1. The 70" did nothing for my weight. in-fact I've always skied better on a 68"! the guy's at HO told me the 67.5 has more surface area than the 68" Monza. So the 67.5" was the appropriate choice, if you ride 68's. Jwakes, At your weight and speed, I'd go with the 66.25" /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif
