  1. I have a similar padded roller bag (made by Dakine) and I've travelled with it a million times over the past 10 years. Florida, California many many times. I've NEVER had a problem with damage nor getting it on the plane. I have a system for packing it with as much as 2 slalom skis and a trick ski. Never tried jumpers. I've had it long enough that we used to pack it with skis and diapers for the kids. I wish I would have documented how much we've put in that bag over the years. Truly an amazing piece of luggage. We usually fly Southwest. 2 bags fly free per passenger. My favorite airline by far. I use the counter as well as Skycaps and always tip the Skycaps well. Again never a question or problem with the luggage and never damage. I want to say I've probably done 25 RT flights with that bag. I've gotten some comments like "Man those are some long golf clubs", but never questioned after just saying they were skis or waterskis. Considered sports equipment and not usually a problem.
  2. With the content out there now (Flowpoint, podcasts, WS Nation, etc.) there's really no need for another DVD movie. The best content we've ever had in this sport is happening right now IMO.
  3. Check the advance springs on that distributor. Very common for the smaller one to be broken which makes for some real headscratching.
  4. I've been watching these again this weekend, still some great stuff. I'm toying with the idea of packing them up and creating a list of BOS folks who want to see them. I send them to the first person, they send them to the second, and so on to get us through the winter.
  5. I’m missing “Slash” and “Slalom with Andy Mapple”, they are around here somewhere.
  6. You know there is an Edged in Water 2, right?
  7. It seems like a lot of time and energy here is put into threads simply arguing for or against spending money on something. Stuff like: - Who needs a boat upgrade? A 20 year old boat is great! Everything newer is a waste! Bubble back 4-lyfe - Who needs EFI? Frivolous expense! Carbs FTW! - Who needs a new rope? Old ropes rule! Folks did fine with old ropes! - ZO is expensive! PP is fine! Hand throttle is even better! - No need to pay for a performance ski! An old ski is fine! A new ski is a waste! - And general pricing commentary for ANY item we use in this incredibly tiny, niche sport supported by small passionate companies that put a ton into the sport Etc, etc etc. and so on and so forth. Guys, who cares? Some people have money and like to spend it. Some have money and hate spending it. Some just don't have the money either way. We all love the sport. I will irrationally spend, you will not. Do we need to go back and forth about it daily on BOS? Masterline has a new rope? Great. Buy it if you want one. Don't buy it if you don't want one. Same with new skis, engines, boats, etc.
  8. Going that hard OTF free-skiing is uncommon and as such focusing on the binding or release system is perhaps asking the wrong question(s). You said it yourself that it's a technique concern and I'd agree. As described you're really at the beginning stages of your slalom journey, just starting to get into the course. To some degree this sort of stuff is going to happen at this stage. For now I wouldn't change anything equipment-wise and just focus on water time. At this stage in the game that's what's going to make the biggest difference. A binding change at this level may lead to more OTFs, just like any potential equipment change this early on.
  9. Seems like stringers killed a lot of Brendellas. How are the stringers? I want to know what happened to the dusty 2000 SN that was there!
  10. @Jetsetr hilarious one-up with a legit jet engine, hahaha.
  11. Excal 330 from V-Belts, PP servo position, etc.
  12. There's no quick fix or miracle product. The oxidation has to be removed to reveal the gel underneath. For heavy oxidation you're going to have to start with wet sanding. After that it's 3 stages of compounding with a buffer using a heavy, medium, and then fine compounds.
  13. Yeah, the cylinder hatchings retain a lot of oil for a long time.
  14. Our latest PVC creation has bent rubber strips as the isolator from the PVC to the mount. Works really well with all modern phones. Depends what boat you have, too. My 16 200 has significantly less vibration and resonance shuddering through the boat (basically none) than a current Malibu, for example.
  15. Folks rent near Okeheelee and get a sticker for their boat during the winter, happens pretty often I think.
  16. @Simpson now that's something new. So you're saying when you could not run -32 you actually started your sets one pass harder than that, scrapping what you could at -35, then lengthened to -32, scrapped on that a bit, then ended the set at a makeable -28? I'm intrigued by this if so. Effectively rather than building the set with a 15, 22, 28, 32 progression, pounding in bad habits with passes you could make, only to end with total failure you effectively reverse that. I'm trying it.
  17. Second year of the TXI. Odd one-spoke steering wheel. Good boat though. In 15 they moved the engine forward, switched to PCM motors, changed the throttle lever and steering wheel for the better. I think all of those first gen TXIs were great but 15-16 are definitely better.
  18. 2016 had some big updates. - First year for available Direct Injection L83/L86 all aluminum, variable valve timing 5.3L and 6.2L power plants, first for the industry I believe - Redesigned driver's seat - Single-Puck ZO I think there was a Vinyl/Interior design update in 2014.
  19. It's amazing to think that a guy hanging out of the side of the boat with a stop watch is the course timing system. They must be doing 6-ball times in addition to course times right? How often were times out of tolerance enough for re-rides?
  20. I talked to a guy that said he put 5000 hours on an excavator digging a lake. If you consider a 40 hour work week as a regular employee is about 2080 hours a year that's over 2 years at that pace.
  21. Nate Smith 28mph 15 off: Dane Mechler, 36mph 15 off Seth Stisher 32mph 15 off MB from way back, 22@30mph There's a couple. Bunch more on my YT channel. It's funny how much more space they create than an actual 15 off skier.
  22. @lakeside7455 IIRC Whitney fell at 2@38, Manon was just less at 39 than Jamie.
  23. It looked really cool. We were all hooting and hollering around the TV. Had no idea what to expect and we loved it. Major air time over the wakes! Loved it.
  24. Since it’s Youtube streaming I’m able to easily watch this on a smart TV. Amazing!!!
  25. I think it's interesting that D3 and Goode make only one level of water skiing product: The top level. They aren't putting out tubes or "free skiing" skis "hybrid" models or combos or anything like that. Both companies at any time are offering only 2 slalom ski models (generally). When you only make 2 skis they'd better be pretty good.
