  1. Think of it relative to how the ski naturally planes out.  If water temp was the only variable, then in very cold water the tail of the ski would not ride as deep, think of ice being the coldest water, the tail of the ski would ride on top and not sink at all.  This could be why a lot of out the fronts happen in colder water.

Adding more wing brings the tip of ski down and thus the tail of the ski up.  Reducing wing angle brings the tip of the ski up and lets the tail ride deeper.

So more wing angle seems to only increase the effects of cold water, and less wing angle would seem to reverse the effects of cold water.

  2. Yes,   out of necessity for stripped holes.    I used the yellow plugs that Goode sends out.  They worked very well.  I followed the installation instructions that came with them, except that I also secured them with a very light coat of JB Weld.
  3. Yup,  water cooling down here,  82F to 69F.   Consistency is starting to unravel.   Does anyone have cold water settings for an A1?   The water will soon be a lot colder than it is.  Intellectually I know performance goes down with the temp,  but emotionally it is still hard to accept.
  4. Riding 66.25A1   Front boot dialed in at 29.5    Rear at 17.625 but thinking of trying it at 17.25, (one hole back).     Puts my heels 12.25" apart.    At 5'10", size 9.5 feet,  what would be "too far apart", ???
  5. H2Osmosis will let you demo any ski they carry, and they carry the A1.   That's your best bet.  If you do not like it, they'll let you try another one, etc, until you find the one you like.
  6. I realize that "Twitter" is our fearless leader's latest joy toy - even though it sounds like something you'd might hear in the background noise of a gay bar.  But when it pops up without invite, blocking the subject matter of various threads - with no easy obvious way to make it go away - it's just irritating.

  7. I find it to be too much brain damage trying to adjust my ski as the water gets cold.   What I do instead is just slow the boat down a bit.  It gives me more margin for error as the water, along with my muscles and joints, gets cold.
