search eBay for "Heat Shield Insulation Car Sound Deadener"

Photo attached of mine after I used the self-adhesive mat from there.  It's much quieter than the original in my MC.  Thought I would have to use additional adhesive, but did not and it's held up fine for several seasons already.  I used a wallpaper roller to push it down.  Also used foil tape for the seams.

Looks like the pics in this thread were disconnected during the Great Changeover of 2022.  Here's one of mine.

Right now, the R3.  I'm currently on the R2.  I've tried a number of other skis over the last few years, and always seem to be better on the D3.

Reverse tyler twist exercise with the Theraband Flexbar fixed this for me.

I replaced the rubber footbed in my rtp w/grip tape. Love it. I bought enough to do many times, but it has lasted several seasons with no wear.

One thing I retained from the Fin Whispering book was the theory that a setting that works in cold water should work well in warm water, but not necessarily the opposite is true. The idea is that there is a smaller margin of error in a cold water setup for a ski and your skiing style, due to the cold water being more reactive/dense against your movements.

My latest ski/setup surprised me last year by remaining skiable well into wetsuit season. This year, I tried a few tweaks in setup during the summer to break out of a slump, but kept returning to the same basic setup. This fall, the ski is still performing well even though the water temp has dropped over 20°. May be the ski, but I think I may have just stumbled upon the right setup for me on this ride. I'm as amazed as anyone. :)

Saw this place recommended on faceyspace for acrylic windshield replacements. You send the frame, and they custom fabricate the piece. Pics look pretty good. Third Coast Plastics (832) 649-7622

Am I the only one that no longer stays logged into the site when returning after closing the browser tab?

Started a couple days ago. Every time I come back to the site (only a few times a day at work, honest :smile: ) I'm prompted to log back in, even thought the "keep me logged in" box is checked. Not a season-ender, but curious if anyone else has experienced this. Using Win/Chrome browser.

Wouldn't be a zero off thread without my favorite ZO graphic! This really helped me understand the potential impacts of each setting.

Self adhesive. I thought I'd have to use some type of glue, but it has held well for over 2 years. I used a wallpaper seam roller to press down the mat, and foil tape for the seams.

I removed the old foam insulation, and re-did with some generic sound deadening mat from ebay. Came out great, and MUCH quieter than the original foam.

@brody Sorry to hear, and hope for a speedy recovery. I don't have personal experience, but a close member of our ski group does. He had a massive heart attack, and ended up on an lvad for a time to stay alive. Eventually received a transplanted heart, and has come back skiing better than before. Different than your current situation, but shows that a comeback is possible. Not in the medical field, so I don't know the limitations that might be put on you if any damage has occurred.

For the record, I'd plan on trying the Sline. But the whole direction this thread took reminded me of this.

- Way too low price.

- "goes almost 50mph"

- "They come with carpet floor"

If it's legit, I'd certainly buy it!
