  1. I don't notice any difference while skiing, only the extra drag some board shorts cause during the 18 deepwater starts in a practice session at the lake. I just can't wait till the water is warm enough to consider a cali commando run. All men are created equal... in cold water
  2. Neoprene shorts for me (Eagle has great ones) while skiing and I just pull board shorts on afterwards so I don't look like a dork. I prefer to avoid the additional load of ballooning board shorts when I'm skiing the course since 3 sets times 6 passes with drops at each end equals an additional cumulative load I don't need. When free skiing board shorts get the call.
  3. 12" Masterline custom radius 1.062. 2 years with 3rd coming up, minimal wear. Masterline Master Curve large gloves which last me about a season. I also use kevlar liners but I buy them at Grainger for about $3 a pair. Will try Brenda and In Tow for next handle.
  4. Took grief today as my wife skied in a light spring suit after I used my 4/3mm full suit... at least I wasn't in my drysuit. When I offered to buy her a full suit she sounded like Horton... "why would I want to ski when it's that cold?"
  5. I have a 2010 Senate C and skied with a partner who had the 2009 in the same size. We compared them and couldn't see any external difference other than the color/graphics. Since the street price of the new 2010 is as low or lower than the prices I saw for the 2009, I suspect they are essentially the same. My bet is that most Radar R & D effort and $'s for the last year went into the Strada. The Senate C is a great ski and now looks cool as well. Todd at h2oproshop.com currently has a great price of $550 on their website and great customer service too.

    FUNNY

Shared the fishing blooper video with my entire family. They agreed it was hilarious. Hmmmm... maybe they would enjoy reading the discussion on Mapple's gates... maybe not!
  7. A few years ago a friend had over 2000 hours on a late 1980's Mastercraft 190. I have over 1100 on my 1994 MC 205 and I would not be surprised to see plenty of 2000+ hour boats on the private lakes.
  8. I wear 9.5 shoes which I like roomy, not tight. Size 9 RS-1's with green Superfeet inside the liner, which is just right for me. Thought for sure I had gone too small when trying them on at home. Knew they were right after first set.
  9. I've been skiing with a CTi from Ossur for over 10 years. Had a partially torn ACL from wakeboard 360 while turning 44 but acting 14 according to my wife. Avoided surgery due to reasonable stability. No injuries since then with lots of snow and water skiing. Very comfortable and well worth the $500-1000 for a custom prescription level brace to stabilize and protect since 6 months recovery from a re-injury and/or surgery would suck.
  10. I just switched to RS-1s from Wileys a month ago and I'm stoked. I used a day of buoy-less free skiing to transition from old to new. One short set on old bindings to warmup and set a baseline. Then mounted the RS-1s per specs. Free skied a solid set noting what felt different. Moved bindings forward one hole (same as with my Wileys) and I was dialed in. 2 days later I hit the course. First 2 passes sacrificed to transition gods and then ran my opener wide and early every single pass for the balance of 3 full sets. I did not heat-mold the liners and I'm also using the Green Superfeet footbeds and highly recommend them. Bought the boots & plate from h2oproshop.com from Horton's header link and Tadd at H2Osmosis was very responsive.
  11. Still love my 1994 Mastercraft 205 with over 1200 hours of family fun and memories. The wake still compares favorably with anything today except you really notice how much spray control has improved since then.
  12. I can attest that Bill takes great care of his promo boats. I skied behind this boat thruout the Southern California INT season and at the INT US Championships and it is sweeeeet. In addition, I purchased his 2007 Malibu RLXi promo boat and it has been flawless for the 100 hours I put on it last year. If you're in the market this would be a no brainer for a great boat.
  13. Everything puckers up when it's cold so the drysuit is still more flexible than I am. Ski days drop from twice a week with 3 sets down to twice a month with 1 or 2 short sets with more spinning and fewer drops at each end of the course. I do feel the difference in the water so density is a factor but not worth changing the fin settings when I'm cold and tight and only skiing a few passes at my opener to maintain a little muscle memory. Bragging rights for skiing every month is a bigger motivation than getting an extra ball. Have not checked January off yet... waiting for some sunshine.
  14. Those are all good. I say two of them almost word for word every time I ski... You can only work on one thing at a time and there is no substitute for water time. The rest I either believe to be true in most cases or am in denial about, so I don't want to talk about them. A few others I would add that have more to do with appreciating the session regardless of the outcome. Best day in the office all week. Another day in paradise. and lately... surprisingly comfortable in the dry suit!
