Fwiw I own a sporttube 3. Got tired of the airlines repeatedly bending the wheelaxle out of shape. Just use my padded Masterline deluxe slalom roller instead.
-
@OldboyII If they managed to snap a ski in half I highly doubt a sporttube would have made a difference. Probably still a broken ski...and a broken sporttube

@Gloersen @Andre
The 4@41 was at Travers LCQ
-
@Wish Pigozzi was the only one who hasn't run 41 before and he had 4@41 previously.
-
-
Right now Will in 4th place with a score of 0.5@43.
One skier to go.
-
@mbabiash Wouldn't C3 be the first setting to try if you are at C1 or C2?
-
Ditto on the shoe policy, that's why the carpet is there anyway.
-
@Skid What settings do you have on your fin?
-
@adamhcaldwell
You sure cover a lot of distance on the lake from initiate pullout to hitting the gates.
Do you in any way find it difficult judging when to move on different lakes? Thinking of how very different lakes can be regarding glide speed or ease in gliding.

Had a winter project with our club boat, 08 CC 196. The glassed in hull bracket for the pylon was loose and had to glass it back in.
Very sloppy job from the factory and I know other CCs with same issue.
Actually made my own bracket as the factory one really was sub par.

Put the boat on trailer. Winterize. Put the boat in storage. Get back at it in the spring.

@Wish Yeah the hardshells we use were never"designed" for waterski use.
Would love to play around with a EXO boot and mod it with a Reflex release.
Would shave the bottom of the shell down to sit lower on the ski though as I think it is better the closer to the ski I can get. Suspect they would get too flimsy for the Reflex after that mod and they are really no longer available.
-
@Wish No problem getting the forward angle needed with the cuff, cut it low and don't crank the upper buckle.
Don't quite understand your last question, however the force exerted on the soles is straight down, always, regardless of how the ski rides.
-
It´s one thing having ramp angle on rollerblades and skates vs a slalom ski where you stand with one foot behind the other in line.
When I try heel lift all I can feel is I get caught standing on my heels, taking away all control from the calf muscel.
Not saying heel lift is a bad thing, just does not work for me.
Using top pros as an example isn´t an exact science, think of all the great scores done by pros in Wileys and T-factors where the footbed is flat. Heck Mapple didn´t even have a footbed just some anti skid tape in the bottom of the boot.
-
@gavski So basically you are saying that with flat soles as for example a Reflex shell that has been flattened there is less need for heel lift?
-
@Deanoski Totally agree, I cannot ski with any kind of heel lift either.
Remember the first Connelly Visions?
Couldn't ski a decent pass with them even if my life depended upon it. Took them apart and discovered thick heel spacers.
Precursor to Reflex (Ski tec) was no good for me either when you had to stand on the heel piece for the release.
On Reflex now with a flattened sole.

@Wish Any attempt to harness energy while under way will draw more power from the batteries than you gain.
Less friction and wind resistance is the only way tou can save some energy.

I wouldn't rule out the D3 ARC

Hard to find a better or equal wake than a bb on longer lines than 35 off. 35 and shorter the trough between the wakes is filled in and therefore flatter on newer hulls from CC.
-
If you are concerned with the wake, make sure to ski behind it first as the wake can differ quite a bit between hulls even within the same model.
-
@TJO What were the #s? Size?
-
@Wish The guy in the background picking up trash missed the whole thing.
