  1. So I’m 51, in great shape and workout pretty much everyday. I had a small heart attack yesterday. I’m still in the hospital and doing well waiting for a few tests. My question is has anyone here gone back to a higher activity level and or skiing after a heart attack? Thanks
  2. After years of injuries, my plan is to try to stay healthy. After listening to a Montavon pod cast, it was evident to me that a lot of my back issues were caused by poor stack/body position. End of season last year when I was able to start my season, didn't worry about anything except my stack. Made a big difference. I started painfully slow, right back to the begining. My cross course angle was so slow that i was flat and actually jumping the rooster tail just thinking stack. I was able progress to getting to max angle, still only focusing only on stack. (PB is 2@38 34) By the end of season i was able to ski at this level pain free.
  3. So the WPFG is going to be held in Winnipeg Canada in 2023. For those that arent familiar, it is a muli sport competition similar to the Olympics geared for Fire, Police, Corrections, and I beleive Paramedics. It attracts over 10,000 athletes and is held every 2 years. The sports included are subject to change. In this years games, waterski is included. The site will be one that has hosted the Pan AM games, and several Canadian Nationals. Anyone know anyone that is going.
  4. I recently upgraded my malibu to version 9 from 8. I have z box, and never had any issues with it. NO surging, times were great, engagement was perfect and predictable. Now its a disaster, system wont engage till its going at least 2 mph faster than set before it settles down to actual set speed, course times are horrible, does not engage anywhere near as fast as before. I wish i could go back to v8. Any suggestions on it not engaging till 36 when its set for 34? I had the original gps puck but changed it out with a new one after to see if it helped which it did not

  5. When you can’t start skiing till may, this is NOT an option. I can still drive a car on my lake. Riding a ski you purchased and playing with fin settings is also a luxury. Buy it set it and forget it. My last ski I set to factory. Didn’t like it. Set it to Rinis settings, was a disaster. Went to Rossi’s setting perfect. Never checked it again. Skied the same every year since 2@38. 14 vapor
  6. Spinal stenosis at l5, laminectomy surgery 3 yrs ago. My ortho surgeon suggested I use a table and build up to 10 minutes inverted. Recently bulged my disc at L4 and I use the table daily to relieve pain.

I also received encouragement from a former world level skier who was an ortho surgeon to use a table

If you are thinking about it, don’t ask people in the internet, ask your doctor
