  1. @Jmoski, responding to your post. Nautique has cut the supply of promo boats in our state. Had our tournament yesterday with only the Mastercraft and Malibu. Had over 40 skiers and some PB's set. Plenty of people here in the market for boats too. Funny thing is: our entire ski club is made up of nautique owners. All skied yesterday and were VERY impressed with the other two; size of wake and driveability of the boats, and better price. After being snubbed by nautique, ALL of us are considering Mastercraft and Malibu. So IMHO, epic fail by nautique with their promo program. We have tremendous support from Mastercraft and Malibu in our area and are in the process of scheduling a demo day for the 2021 Prostar.
  2. NO worries, everything is the same. Be reasonable, sensible, and responsible. If you practice the correct procedures and stay away from densely populated areas
  3. Thank you Marcus for distinguishing the differences between these 3 skis. It's been quite confusing up until now on which one to try. Always been an HO fan going from the HO VTR in 1998, to A1, A3, V-Type, to now the most recent VTX. Which of those 3 skis you review compare to the VTX?
  4. Have a ski buddy that tried the 2020 and he looked really good on it, but went back to his 2019 thinking it performed better for him. Can someone tell me why your height matters in fitting ski size? I don't see how height changes how the ski sits in the water like weight does.
  5. @TravisNW : Have you skied the '18 H0 VTX? how does it compare to the Alpha?
  6. let him ski!!! What's the harm of that???
  7. So what's new and different about the 2020 besides the fact it's a 2020???
  8. All this heavy scrutiny. All I can say keep up the good work FW! His time has come now that he has found the right ski. I'd like to say that the results are from his hard work, skill, and that he's got the height and reach which doesn't hurt. And finally on a ski that seems to be working for him. Hmm, same ski company as what the other guy that is world record holding status.
  9. @ScotChipman1 We didn't get that far. We were all in disbelief but a friend that was with me is going to sit down with the dealer to run the numbers. Meanwhile have another friend that was quoted similar pricing for the Ski Nautique from same dealer and he's thinking about it. Like everyone else, it's about justifying paying that much for a new boat when all of us have our own SN200's that work perfectly fine.
  10. after reading the entire thread, I agree that basic economics has a lot to do with pricing: supply and demand, economies of scale. Recently picked up a brand new 2019 SN from the dealer and pricing was in the low 60's. Asked what would it be for a '19 Ski Nautique and they said low 80's. I didn't believe it and said with a trailer? He said 'yes'. Then I asked how many new 2019 Nautiques have you sold? He said: Counting this one, only 1 SN200 and only one Ski Nautique. I believe supply and demand is starting to take affect as I saw original quotes for Ski Nautiques at $103,000 as they are definitely not selling, at least here.
  11. Where are all the people who wanted to buy this boat when boat was "sold" ??? LOL
  12. I suggest watching the John McAfee documentary on Netflix titled "Gringo" before you go down there. Very enlightening and can give you some watchouts....
  13. https://www.ballofspray.com/home-page/gear-reviews?start=28 Nice comments on the ski with possible test ride from Horton
  14. I believe Horton did an unboxing of the vtx and complimented the look and design. He never did a review so safe to assume he never skied it(?)
  15. Z Box is wonderful. SO Much more forgiving to ski than Zero Off
  16. You haters are way over thinking this. It would so much fun to change things up. Whether adding a 7th buoy or 6 more turn balls (who cares), it would help change up the craziness of repetition we have with the current setup. And the fun of new challenges without a major change to slalom
  17. I was able to get my VTX new for $600. Couldn't pass it up especially when they want Whaaaattt!!! $1,600 for an Alpha???
  18. @ loopski I recently purchased one and despite only having 3 real sets on it, am really enjoying it. By 3 sets, I mean with the correct fin and boot settings. Coming from a '16 radar vapor, the vtx is so much easier to ski and way more forgiving. Don't understand why there hasn't been more talk about this ski
  19. Hell yeah, people take it too seriously. If you can't admit you haven't seen marriages and friendships broken up over the obsessive, compulsive nature of our sport and the crazy drama that goes on at every ski lake, you got your head buried in the sand.
  20. Yes, to confirm i am running those settings and ski has been pretty good. Thanks!
  21. Scott, I know you go at about 150. What do you feel different good or bad using B3+?
  22. Trying out a new HO VTX and looking for input on fin/ boot settings. Running factory now and feel ski could finish turns especially onside a little better. It's a 66" and I start at 22 and finish at 32 @ 32 - 34 mph. If you think the Pro or Alpha is WAY better, tell me. Thanks!
  23. +2 on Jacob Bogne. Seen him make 39.5 here at Pickos no sweat just yesteday. He took 2nd last year to Asher in European Championships. Thought this thread was about unknowns.... he's one
  24. I've had the pleasure to hang out with Martin Kolman at Pickos so my vote goes for him. He's super dedicated to the sport and being in top performance shape to compete. He's now working for Goode and putting his knowledge to good(e) use!
  25. I think this is the single greatest driver for growing the sport. Before recently moving, I was coaching a college team and it truly was a rewarding experience and appreciated the enthusiasm and energy of the college kids. And it was D2. Pretty much all beginners starting from scratch.
