  1. They've been saying 2 weeks since early December. I hope this time they'll deliver, but, there appears to be some serious issues.
  2. Ok, maybe I'm out to lunch, but the parts where they say, "Having a broad membership base has allowed USA Water Ski to participate with the Water Sports Industry Association and represent all of our sports." , and the part that says, "Additionally, USA WS has developed programs that cross sport lines that benefit all towed water sports". Really means, ....with AWSA subsidizing all of the smaller, water sports, they can all be part of us and play now!.
  3. It's interesting how many people are now using (and loving) the memory foam beds (Tempur-pedic and IComfort). They seem to have revolutionized sleeping! (and sure helped relieve bad backs!)
  4. wierd....I know the announcers were all over the place with their calls...but they did their best.
  5. His ski was inside of 5 ball. They have video. The announcers were wrong.
  6. Yea, JDL. and instead of giving all of the money back to the governing body, make $$ purses for the skiers. Might be more fun.
  7. If Nate cough's up 3 @ 43 off, it'll look good no mater WHAT he's wearing. Possibly the crappier, the better (being unique). If everyone else is doing this; and you do THAT, then you create your own, unique trend, and it can actually be "cool" (as long as your scores can back it up).
  8. "Does the sport really need Pro Skiers?" ..........................YES.
  9. @twhisper thank you for your response. I agree completely, except, the part where a Bid Dawg getting 4@41/34 mph would take away from a pro's score who is skiing @ 36 mph. It seems to me that 36 mph is MUCH harder than 34. For me, I sure couldn't ignore the speed traveled, and REALLY appreciate ALL of the PRO'S. They are the creme of the crop (and critical to the sport). The Big Dawgs are awesome (and admirable) as well, just a notch below (the pro's), though. They are where some of the "normal/mortal" skiers have an opportunity to achieve, which is fun to watch as well.
  10. How much gas does the 200 typically burn for a 6 pass set? (in terms of Gallons)
  11. Did these bindings ever make it to market? http://danbirch.com/obrien_elite_bindings.png
  12. If you want it on your ski, it has an adhesive that attaches it there. Just be sure you have floatation attached to the back of your camera case in case of a release. If you want it on your head, use the head strap. Be sure to add a floatation (somewhere) on the headstrap (like a key float). I would also recommend adding a neoprene chin strap for better stability. Also, it is good to adjust the GoPro to about a 45 degree angle, so you can see the water ahead of you (only a little "sky"), and the rest is your body. It is a waste of good camera angle to view too much sky ahead. There are many other ways to use it, these are just a few.
  13. @OB ....Have faith, my child! Miracles can happen!
  14. @Mr. Jones, I disagree. But, Anything that could build better public interest in this sport would be good for it. As mentioned, a head-to-head format would work perfectly for this type of review/playback. Unfortunately, watching the same thing over and over gets boring (especially to the non-skiing public, which is who would be good to impress, as well as the major tv networks). I'd sure love to see a Pro Ski Tour back on ESPN & OLN. Didn't go over good enough with the format you and OB seem to love so much. Maybe it's time for some fresh thinking. BTW, if you play the video "full screen" you can "watch" each skier fine. Obviously, proper editing, and an announcer would be important to add interest.
  15. I've mentioned this before, but they best way to view a "head to head" competetion would be to split screen the 2 skiers, so the viewer could watch both entrants at the same time. It would also cut the time in half. More exciting, interesting, and better to draw non-skiers into the sport. It would sort of look something like this video (in it's final cut), with each pair of competitors....
  16. @lhoover & Kelvin, Thanks! Andrew has entered!
  17. @lhoover Where did you get this announcement from?
  18. Go Andy, Go! It's better for the sport. Make the Big Dawg's train even harder. Give us an opportunity to watch Andy compete and not just ski in the "legends" division, which is boring. It will draw a bigger audience, for sure. Where was this information found? I can't find any mention of it on skibigdawg.com, or usawaterski.org...
  19. Was your confirmation (from Scott Smith) in writing, or verbal?
