  1. @LK_skier Yes, I might actually take out the spring and shorten it a bit.
  2. Here is a picture of my boat for sale: 6L Open bow 1180 hours. Brand new engine with 100 hours. Transmission replaced at 750 hours. Engine, battery, starter motor and exhaust manifolds replaced at 1080 hours. -Zero Off -Seat heaters -air heaters Includes single axle trailer
  3. @jpwhit @Bruce_Butterfield Success! Used a 1/4” by 2” compression spring from Home Depot. It’s a little on the stiff side, but it locks into neutral with enthusiasm. Thanks
  4. Hi. Old thread, but gonna be in Atlanta for the weekend of Oct 1. Anywhere I could get in a few sets. If so, I'll risk checking my skis with Air Canada.
  5. @Horton Deposit paid 13 months ago, ETA: April, 21 months later. BTW, my car won't go louder, doesn't make any sound at all. ;-)
  6. @Bruce_Butterfield I found a replacemnt spring and will try the repair tomorrow. In the picture, there is a spring in the space next to "200". Is there normally a second spring in the space above? Not sure what it would be pushing on. My thought is that only the remaining spring has died and needs to be replaced.
  7. @Calhoun07 Good luck, ready to come check it out!
  8. What was the trade-off for the propeller change? I recently skied behind a 2020 and a 2022 Prostar. Both with 6L but the 2020 seemed to yank me out of the water. 2022 felt about the same as my 6L Nautique 200.
  9. @BTheis I know someone selling a brand new 2022 66" senate, if you are still looking.
  10. Hi Canadians, I will be selling my 2015 Nautique 200 with dilivery in the spring. It has 1150 hours, but has a brand new motor, battery, starter motor and new exhaust manifolds. The new motor has less than 100 hours on it all is good! The transmission was replaced at 750 hours. If interested, please send me a message via BOS. Laz
  11. Great suggestion. How did you get the shaft out? Did you have to straighten the tip?
  12. Hi Ballers. Perhaps someone can help me with what I think should be a simple fix. My throttle stopped locking into neutral. It will go into gear without having to pull up on the circle-thing. I took it apart and I think the problem is a missing spring. The little lock-thing will slide into place if I push it down, but it will not pop down by itself. Please see the attached picture. I'm not sure what it is supposed to look like, but I think there should be two springs, one below the narrowing and one above. Does anyone know? Thanks.
  13. Same here. They have such a slick product. I hope they can make some money at this.
  14. How is Sure-Path being used in pro tournaments? I watched a lot of the (very excellent) TWBC broadcast and I did not see it mentioned. Also, there is no talk of re-rides.
  15. Hello Ontario Ballers, The return of the Iburofen open is Friday June 3rd at McClintock Ski School. We will be using a modified Herb's Cup format. The main modification is that we will all be amateurs! There will be two rounds, each 8 minutes of all the turns you can handle. One complete pass gets you a score, which doesn't matter since the score is only for bragging rights. https://www.skimcclintocks.com/tournaments There will be lunch and prizes.
  16. As far as I can tell, no free RTK network in Canada. One of our sites is close to NY and can get free access. Anyone know otherwise?
  17. This is a great thread. I've been in a Tesla since 2013 and we have an X and a model 3. There is just no going back to gas, even for towing the boat. Now for a ski boat, I'll be first in line when an electric one comes, but it's a tougher nut to crack. Using current hulls, it's about 10kWh for an 8 pass set. That's equivalent to driving my electric car about 70km. Ski boats are incredibly inefficent. It's tough to get that much electrical power down at the dock. My next boat will be a Prostar. But maybe, just maybe, my next next boat will be elecric.
  18. Hi @willy I'm in Ontario and have an EZ slalom course I don't need anymore.
  19. Anything worth doing is worth overdoing. I bet any skier on this forum lives by those words.
  20. Here is a recent article: bloomberg.com The boat costs $300 000. The article says it has a 200kWh battery and can run for 5 hours. That's not too bad. Electric boats are inevitable, just not sure when. What will happen first? Electric boats will become affordable or regular boats will become even more insanely expensive?
  21. @jayski I'm all in on electric cars and boats. When electric boat technology catches up to Tesla, none of us will miss the days of gasoline, fumes and oil changes. Building infrastructure wil take time but even if suddenly new vehicles swich to 80% EVs, it will still take years to replace the current fossil fuel cars of the world while electric infrastructure is not that difficult to build. And yes, there should be a lot more effort put into new nuclear technology like traveling wave reactors, molten salt, thorium, etc. Unfortunately, I think it will be a long time before an electric ski boat can replace a gas car as easily as a Tesla does. And don't forget, fusion will solve everything and is only 10 years away....always.
  22. @Killer I think you need to make an emergency flight down to Orlando this weekend!
  23. Does anyone know when the slalom finals might be? I'm flying in Saturday morning and would love catch some of the finals.
  24. Deposit paid. I hope the boat shows up!
