  1. I have been thinking of taking the buckles off of my tnt because I don't really think they help much as far as fit, trouble is if I pull them out it would be a pain if I wanted/needed to put them back in again. anyone else tried this??? I would have to say that the next vest I buy will probably be an eagle they look super cool and comfy.
  2. I have one switch between that and a gooru vest. the gooru allows for more movement but holds a lot of water and rides up when I'm in the water. the TNT doesn't hold much water or ride up (tighter fit) but isn't as flexible in the mid section as the gooru.
  3. Having just learned to ski the course this summer the biggest difference that I noticed is that the course forces you to ski equally well on both on and off sides. Having been a long time free skier my off side turn was lacking badly in comparison to my on side turn. I immediately noticed this when I first started and it was one of the biggest things I had to correct, also as stated previously don't be afraid to go slow at first, I started at 28 mph.
  4. I ski behind a 98 regularly, I ski at 15off, just learning to ski the course this year, and theres nothing better not even my Elite ;)
  5. I am fairly certain Malibu will build you whatever hull you want as long as you can pay for it. Anyone know how the Carbon Pro's weight compares to the other three???
  6. I have a masterline monster handle and love it. Not sure what qualifies as a soft handle though.
  7. Just looked at the schedule looks like some fun beginner tournaments, I may show up for one of them. I have only had about 8 sets total in the course ever so I could use the practice. What are the costs to participate ?
  8. Brent I contacted ski dim they were very helpful in determining the right size material to get for my boat. east tx skier great link, very helpful for someone like myself who has never done this before.
  9. I have centurion elite that is dripping from the stuffing box more than it should I figure its only a matter of time so re-pack it now. Problem is I don't have any idea what type or size of packing material to use. Anyone have any advice???
  10. OB I think that opening your lake up to the public every sunday would be a great idea that others should follow, I think that for a lot of people who are even remotely interested in skiing the course the biggest obstacle becomes finding a place to ski. I know this because while I have always been able to ski on my lake up north, finding a place near my home with a course was even harder, I am just this summer learning to ski the course for the first time after wanting to for awhile, and the hardest part was finding people willing to let me use their course. You may end up with people who aren't really that into skiing after they try it, but it gives people the opportunity to at least try and maybe a few of them will become new slalom addicts themselves.
  11. This site may help AMSkierboats.com
  12. My elite has stickers that say carbon something on the side as well the carbon pro just seems to take this marketing a step further, still a beautiful boat though more pics please.
  13. Is this boat built in california or north carolina? if it is built in california using the vacuum bagging would enable them to comply with stricter emissions, does it do anything to strengthen the hull at all though?
  14. They kind of look like the old o'brien bio bindings I used to have, I hated those things, I never felt comfortable in them and they were very hard to put on, not to mention very heavy. Not saying that the t-factors are those things just remind me of those bio bindings every time I see them.
  15. I would love to go see it but I will be skiing up north tomorrow.
  16. I saw jamie on tv once going through the process of making a new connelly. I can't remember what the show was called but it was pretty awesome.
  17. both of those boats look amazing
  18. Thanks Shane, and Bulldog very sound advice I guess I am just being anal about it, for the past two weeks i've had it in my pole barn and have been going over every tiny thing thats wrong and trying to fix it. Time for me to get out and start skiing already.
  19. the carbon pro looks like a pretty sweet boat, the boat shop near my lake just became a centurion dealer so I am hoping that they get one these in to see in person.
  20. Okay so I recently purchased my first boat and just took it out of storage for the winter the other week. The boat is a 1996 ski centurion Lapoint elite. The boat has stickers on the front that say official us open towboat, when I got the boat out of storage and into the sunlight i noticed that the back of the boat had previously had a decal that said the same thing. I can also see very very subtle marks of what looks like the name of a marina on the sides of the gel-coat. My question is to anyone who may know anything about these boats, do I have a boat that was used for the us open? was the centurion even used for the us open in that year. or did someone just decide to put a bunch of stickers on it for the heck of it. I believe that the name on the side of the boat says aqua sports marine. The reason I am asking this is not only because it could be interesting to have a boat that possibly was used for this tournament, but because I would like put the original decals back on the boat that were removed by the previous owner and I would like to find out if these decals that were something from the factory or not.
  21. Well a square tip would just look weird, also a taper saves weight and material. I think thats pretty simple.
  22. Laz, I like your suggestion of pulling on a rope this can help build muscle memory in a pulling position, remember it can take hundreds of repetitions just to develop muscle memory of a certain movement or position. Once you have muscle memory of the movements you need improving becomes about reaction time.
  23. This may help, it is a drill professional football players use to strengthen there reaction times, and may translate well into helping your reaction times in the course. Have a friend stand with their arms outstretched and holding a tennis ball in each hand. To start stand back 10 yards away then have your friend randomly drop one of the balls, your goal is catch the ball before it hits the ground, if that two hard try and catch the ball before it bounces a second time. To make even harder simply stand further away. Proper form and technique will help you get through the course but simply learning to react faster can go a long way in getting you through the course.
