  5. anyone know if the Strada boots will change at all for 2011?
  6. still can't get to the pics can anyone else? tried copying and pasting still doesn't work
  7. Let me first say this I have never used a powervest before and would not think of using one even if I did have back problems, this thing just looks dangerous to many straps and things that could go wrong besides if I had back problems I would rather strengthen my back through exercise than take away having to use my back at all while skiing which is what the powervest seems to do. Second I would not want to ski against someone especially in a head to head comp who is wearing one knowing that it would give them a distinct endurance factor. If you want to use a powervest outside of competition so be it. Eric there is something to be said about evolving technology in our ski equipment hardshells are just an evolution of binding performance and materials, this would translate in the form of a ski vest to something tighter fitting or more aerodynamic not straps that hold you in position a skiing position so that you don't yes you can ski longer in hardshells but you still have to use your muscles you make the ski turn, the powervest seems to take away having to use your muscles when skiing which is totally different. Again I have only seen Dave Goode's video on the powevest and this is my take on it.
  8. after watching the video on the main page was wondering if anyone has tried this ski out yet and how they liked it had a do a little searching to find this topic again.
  9. I have an apple and If I wanted to put a video up I would just copy the html from youtube and paste it here that has worked for me before. The positioning of the video will just get messed up especially if you add other text with the post because safari doesn't have the advanced text editing window. The bindings do look a little harder to get into then my RS-1's but definitely easier to get into then my old O'brien Bio's.
  10. I've never used the approach bindings but they never looked like they would release well, so I would think that having a dedicated release system would be the main factor in buying the exo boots. Also are the exo boots any lighter in weight then other bindings that use a larger plate like Radar RS-1's or Stradas? just by looking at pictures it would seems like the whole system is lighter and less bulky then other setups.
  11. My RS-1's were shipped already on my ski but I took it all apart anyway no nylon washers, and no cup washers in the middle either, still skis great anyway don't know what the nylon washers would really be for other then maybe not scratching the ski up as much if they come loose.
  12. scoke I play real sports, not tryin to be the best at exercising. h2odawg neck is definitely feeling better slight twinges every once in a while but no headaches, I've been doing leg presses more now and trying to use good form to make sure it doesn't happen again.
  13. I recently purchased an RS-1 coming off an older O'brien Allegiance and even though I've only skied it a couple of times this year it feels like I am skiing the way I normally would on my O'brien in the middle of the summer. I think the RS-1 bindings make a huge difference as well. The first time I turned offside on it I was in shock at how fast it was. That being said I can only imagine how the Strada must be like if it can turn the offside even better than the RS-1. I really don't think you could go wrong with either of these skis.
  14. h20dawg, I think you hit the nail on the head with your first comment, I usually do squats but that day I decided to do leg presses as there were a lot of people doing squats when I was in the gym and didn't want to wait around. I don't think that I was using correct form for my last set of leg presses, and this is what caused the problem to develop.
  15. I weigh only 165 pounds and 3 sets of 20 reps with 450 pounds would be considered heavy lifting for me. If you do this workout and then drop down the weight for the fourth set of 8 it will turn your legs to jello real fast.
  16. heavy weight lifting, it is really weird anything with my legs, bench press, or shoulders, I get a pain in the left side of my neck and then pretty much the worst headache you can imagine.
  17. Earlier this week I was going through my normal workout doing leg presses, I normally do 3 sets of 20 followed by a lighter set of 8 on my third set of 20 I felt this weird pop in my neck area and then almost instantaneously the worst headache I have ever experienced, it was so bad that I couldn't finish the workout. I found out that it is most likely something called a thunderclap which is a strain in the nerves and the muscles in the neck, and that heavy lifting is probably out for about a month. Just wondering if anyone on here has had this happen to them and if they have been able to ski with it. I would really like to ski this weekend but don't know if I should, I have been able to lift weights this week but I have been taking it really lightly though and not really exerting myself to much.
  18. They had an ad in the latest waterski mag looked pretty sweet, wonder how it skis
  19. I thought I read somewhere that they were supposed to look like basketball shoes, where they got that I don't know
  20. Eric, your advice seems good, thats what I'll probably end up doing. MS taking it into work with me would be ideal, but even with a laid back state job I doubt it would fly.
  21. So this might be a weird question but i figured someone on here would know the answer, I bought a new rs-1 for this season, this is my first carbon ski and was wondering about storing it. I plan on going to work then go skiing afterwards at least a few days a week, my question is if I have the ski in my car and it is a really hot day will keeping the ski in my car all day while at work hurt the ski at all?
  22. the switch pullup to chinup was one of the hardest for me that and the width of the soccer goal really improves your forearm strength. I think that any kind of mma training like this is excellent for waterskiing the high intensity strength and cardio i find work best for me as far ski training goes. Plus this workout is free as long as you can find a soccer post.
