  1. You can never have enough threads on stack (or alignment!). Thanks @Bruce_Butterfield I have always struggled with my alignment. I thought I had heard every trick that could help trigger some sort of muscle response to find my most leveraged position, but I don’t recall every hearing knee alignment mentioned. I’m hoping and crossing my fingers that your tip will finally click in my brain.

After listening to the Spraymakers podcast, I’ve re-upped my focus on straight arms too. It’s amazing how my arms will automatically curl on their own without my constant focus on keeping them straight.

Good luck @slim__dunc ! I know what I am doing wrong, but finding the magical brew that will allow me to feel the correct stance and ingrain the proper habits while overriding life-long bad habits is a bugger.

  2. @mike_mapple Handle guards would make a terrific point of purchase item. I don’t know of any business that doesn’t benefit from additional sales. I’ve used one for a decade and have never noticed it, but I have a buddy who was in the boat twice when one was needed. One person had a guard and lived. The other didn’t and died.
  3. I’ve had both. The PS is an awesome boat. I loved it. I was just talking about it to a pal who used to own one as well. We both have Nautiques now. Time has definitely improved hull design. The PS is unparalleled for long line, but the Nautique will make better skiers much happier.
  4. A 2300’ lake designed similar to “Quick Set” would be ideal. You can spin using the shoreline to knock down the rollers, but you have no unnecessary obstacles to negotiate as a skier or a driver. When I see beginners spin around islands, it makes my hands sweat.
  5. @Alvin_Neff Again. It is in the drawing where the cream rises. Anyone can guess the podium. Guiding the hand of God is another level.

Speaking of God. I just received an email from Vincent Stadlbaur. All is good in the world of major award winners!

  6. I’d like to thank all of you out there that competed against me and lost in the MasterCraft Pro audience prize contest . You were all worthy opponents that just came up short on this particular day. Your dedication and enthusiasm forced me to raise my game and dig deep for a fantastic season ending performance that has been the stuff of dreams. I can’t thank you enough.

Now how does a feller claim his prize? I can’t seem to find any contact info for the TWBC. Speaking of which. Here’s to TWBC and all of the good folks who have managed to put on such incredible tournaments this year. It’s been pretty amazing all the way around. Seeing my name on screen was pretty surreal and unexpectedly cool. I hope these audience contests become a staple in all future broadcasts. They add another level of excitement and involvement to the tournaments. Watching Elizabeth Montavon take second was so awesome I didn’t even mind she blew my bracket!

So. In closing thanks to everyone! It’s a little early to be referring to me as the GOAT. I’m just focusing on the next season and doing the work. At the moment that includes figuring out how to collect my valuable prize!

  7. I tied my PB the first time I skied behind hammerski ‘s Nautique. That first wake crossing to one ball sure felt foreign, but it was a super fun round!

As for looks... it reminds me of a 70’s tri-hull - which makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.

  8. Bump. Our lake insurance is up for renewal, and we’re looking for other options. Is anyone having success with companies other than sports insurance. We’ll be looking into them as well, but we want as many options as possible.

    Thanks!

  9. I missed all the previous “drama”, but Scot and the Utah Lake Waterski Club were the folks who got me skiing the course nearly ten years ago. I spent two full days hanging out and skiing with Scot behind his boat. He was an incredibly gracious host and nice guy - it was the first time I had seen a course in 30 years. I understand Horton’s frustrations and all the folks piling on, but I honestly don't see how his infractions rate all this abuse.

Keep yer chin up Scot and thanks for launching this crazy obsession!

And thanks to Horton for keeping this website about fun and skiing! It’s been the lifeblood of my obsession and the source of enormous info.

  10. Let me be clear! I am uncomfortable condemning Nate because I have not seen enough thorough information or testimony with which to make a verdict. A formal court case would provide the evidence that would make that verdict much easier to come by. That is precisely why our third branch of government is the court system and not the media.

I have known of the assault allegations for years and have therefore had a pretty guarded opinion of Nate, but I am still unwilling to condemn him or his sponsors with the level of information I have been privy to up to this point.
