  1. If you add up the comments most have it correct for their regions. Their is not a magic formula for all lakes. For the lakes that are in the south that have a lot of rain water and water passing down stream Reward/Diquat, copper sulfate, Clearcast and other contact herbicides are your friends. When you get to closed bodies of waters like most in California lake dyes, Diuron/Karmex (exposed shoreline), Sonar, Sureguard(non died lakes) are all options. When in doubt call a professional and ask a lot of questions. Water treatment needs to be done preventively and when the weeds are small.
  2. There is a person using Boat Trader to purchase boats and get them sent to the UK , his name is Paul Tankard, he makes it sound like he is a true buyer. My first clue he was going to send a check to me including the freight to Scotland and that I was to send him a check back for the freight amount ( clue one) Scam , my reply was check could be sent after his check completely cleared my bank, discussion got slower after that. I asked for export forms to send it to Scotland , they never came , I have exported two boats to Australia in the past, there was a ton of forms to fill out, non came from this guy. A check finally came in, called the design company in SF, the Accounts payable person said they have reported it to the authorities and no action taken. Boat Trader does not have a system to block these e mails. Sellers Beware!!!!!
  3. The 2012 to 2016 TXI are really easy boats to ski behind, The changes in the hull really made a difference to soften and reduce the wake size were some enhancements to make the boat more friendly for skiing of all abilities and speeds. There were several skiers with different abilities the work with the Malibu engineers to come up with the desired changes. Malibu listens to their customers. I have stuck with the 5.7 engines, we are at low elevation and have had great success with them. The wedge is great for kids wakeboarding and knee boarding.
  4. My experience is you need to start at 22MPH and time it all the way through 36 MPH on the Perfect Pass side and it will work better. That was my experience when they came into the Promo boats
  5. Its good to see some people getting involved in the league, it's keeps people skiing together, and long lasting friendships from these events.
  6. For the Gurnett Lakes Event the two Promo Boats were supplied by INT skiers. Humm they were equipped with Zero Off, FYI , I guess if it wasn't for the INTpeople the event would have had to borrow boats.
  7. Last February I had a Fusion Back surgery . The healing process is 9 months, but the surgeon has allowed me to free ski at slower speeds. Horton brought over his demo to try. Well the deep water start is so easy and so little stress on my back. This is even easer to get up on than a wide ride ski. Great ski, easy to ski on , I just cannot go all out on for a couple more months. Looking toward that day .
  8. We have been down there several times and it is always a great experience. Jim and Susan will always find new experiences for you, all you have to do is ask what type of other things you want and they seam to have the connections to fulfill your wishes, for the skiers and non skiers.
  9. A lot of the cost increases come from the demands of the skiers. Then the technology has increased greatly. The skiers that are trying to up grade are wanting new graphics in the boat. It costs a manufacturer 200 K plus to do that and spread that cost over 75 to 100 boats per year with a 5 year life span it is hard to justify to Corperate bean counters for a return on investment. The other thing is they are building them to last longer so skiers don't feel the need to go buy a new boat because the old one is working just fine. Yes it is frustrating sometimes being a promo person. But with a lot of years doing it you have to understand the industry.
  10. Both will work for you. The fines are faster acting. You need to get good distribution across the treated area.

    First Ski Boat

Looks like 18 summers of fun with the kids. They will keep you busy.
  12. Sensient Blue should be about 100.00 .It is a dry granule so there is 4.4 lbs in a gallon. 16 oz/1 lb covers about 6 surface acres 4 feet deep. If your seroius about blocking the sun for Weeds and Algea use 3 gallons of the Blue and a gallon of the Black. It also takes away the fake blue color and Naturalizes the lake.
  13. Sensient Dye has proven to be a very good dye, We have started using it on our lakes in Arvin, ,right now we are using 1 gallon size of Black to about 3 gallon sizes of Blue to get the true shading needed for Weed and Algea supression. Sensient has a Aquashade / Mirage product avaliable. I would caution users of just using Blue if the water does not have alot of turbidity in it, as sunlight will penetrate to the bottom and things will grow. When handeled carefully no smirff effect.

    ZO Surging

Do a check of the pucks to see if they are working. I unplugged one on my 2015 and it is fine now. They run fine with one puck
  15. In the Southern Cal area and to some degree Northern Cal we have been using Mirage. It is a combination of the blue and yellow dye. The yellow is the work horse that blocks the UV light. The lake would look like mountain due if there was not blue added ,not what I would want. I recommend to keep the color in the lake dark in the spring and early summer and then let it slide as the summer progresses. I have seen dyes turn water milky and the they get turned off of them because of the experience.
