It was 25f when I woke up at the lake Saturday. We skied one set in the afternoon. It was sunny with a little bite but no wind. I may ski next weekend if it is not raining.

If you are in between and just getting back into it, bigger is the default in my opinion, especially on the Vapor at slower speeds than 36 mph. Easier starts, easier on your body, more platform to stand on while you get your form back or develop good form, less tendency to crank a turn and overpull.

there's a possibility of the first ever collegiate 200-ft jump.
Is it still off a 5 footer? Wow!

The radar one piece G10 carbon sequence plate with the microadjustments is awesome as well. It's so easy to adjust in small, usable increments that it's hard to resists playing with placement.

I think having the plastic toe piece over the toes when molding is important for max fit comfort. As a reminder.

It still might just be a bad battery (even though it's only two years old) especially if it's been drained more than a few times. Or it could be a bad battery and something else. Man do I hate electrical issues. Good luck.

I have the carbon plate, an RTP, and no separate release system and come right in the event of the occasional OTF fall. That's my experience. I think it has worked great so far (fingers crossed).

Nope. 4 sets this weekend in PacNW.

Top scores for top skiers wasn't the issue, if I recall correctly, unless it was mentioned during the boats first few months before it was fully dialed in.
I am convinced the main bitch was they are expensive and literally broke the theory that an expensive ski boat won't sell, and which reset the pricing expectations for all the ski boat manufactures, and which fed all price-of-new-boats-is-killing-the-sport proponents. But it's the best 3-event boat ever built, IMO.

Heat mold in socks with some sort of spacer in the toes. Darren Wiley had a little rubber piece that fit over the toes to give you a just little wiggle room in the toes when molding. Don't skip the heat molding step that's the big size variable and makes the fit perfect.

Would the Vapor boot be too stiff for mixed water conditions?
Short answer, no, just do it. The new Vapor binding is the bomb.

If you spike a new boat with a 6.2L DI engine and zero off it will grab ahold of you and break you in half in a way that an older carby with Z-box won't. Don't spike/overyoke the boat and there's not nearly as much of a difference. So if you are used to training behind an older boat and like to yoke you won't like the result if you roll into a tournament unprepared. It's the penalty for inefficiency that I see as the big difference.

What is the status with the other ASU site (Spring Mountain, IIRC?) Didn't they move a jump ramp there?

Vapor - measure from the bottom of the boot (easy).
On the new Vapor boot (hybrid hardshell) measure to bottom. Old Vapor boot, measure to stitches (not very bottom). Is my understanding anyway.

Nate doesn't generally appear to over-yoke. So I would posit that means you don't generally want to either.

The O'Neal exotic materials are great, but for just a shorty the standard Reactor suit is just fine, I think. We use Hyperfreak or Pyschotech or Heat for the long suits.

There's nothing safe about boats, docks, turn islands, water you can drown in generally . . . I have heard of lots of injuries occurring while skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, but I don't recall ever even hearing about anyone hitting a ramp who was not actively jumping. It is hard enough to get jump ramps approved in lakes generally without more misinformation floating around about jump ramps as general hazards. Ramps are no more dangerous than a dock on a lake when not in use; lake users need to take care to avoid them. It looked to me like the S-turn was just as much of a cause of a potentially unsafe condition. Maybe a rules change is in order in relation to the S-turn when it's unsafe to do it.

I assume there is a huge order line forming from members here who lament for the cheap, strippy direct drive with few unessential features that almost no one actually buys.

Oops. My bad. I glossed over that reference.

And don't forget Jacinta!

Good driving is a skill unto itself, and for me, personally, I enjoy driving EVERY BIT as much as skiing, sometimes even more. If I'm just going to be a passenger to the robo-driver, count me out.
I thought the same thing about hand driving the throttle, but speed control turned out to be a net plus I think. I am not so sure about Autosteer; I do think it will completely sap the joy out of driving.

Though I suppose at the rate Joel is going, he'll break his own overall record 2 more times this season.
Joel really needs to step up his trick game. He got beat by a B5. I guess tricks are for kids. Hehe.
