  1. Tad, if you want a bag/sleeve just for the ski I would go with Eagle. Get the one with the built in fin protector. I have also heard of people using a padded snowboard bag for their slalom ski, boots, liners, gloves, rope, etc. I am thinking of getting a 175 cm Dakine snowboard bag for my equipment. Been looking at them on the internet but stock is low right now because it is not snowboard season. New stock should be coming out soon.
  2. If money were no object, I would start my own ski company and hire Andy Mapple, Dave Goode, Denny Kidder, and the LaPoint brothers as my ski designers. They would make me a hollow cored, resin transfer molded, dual rockered, dual locked, stepped bottom asymmetric unbreakable ultralight mid-mid-ride secret prototype R&D test ski built with nano carbon technology and real 3K twill weave carbon fiber graphics!
  3. My favorite Goodes were the 9500, 9900SL (Traditional), and the Nano Twist Mid. Not coincidentally they all have very similar flexes (within a few pounds) as measured by my own flex tester.
  4. That was a funny video. I always have to do the unboxing ceremony in my basement after my wife goes to sleep so I don't get yelled at for buying a new ski. It used to be easy with all the Goodes being black and orange, so she never knew I got a new ski. It was hard explaining the white/smoke graphic on my latest ski though.
  5. I use 2 strips of 400 (clear) and 2 strips of 250 (clear) on the plate, and 4 strips of 250 (clear) on the ski. No pre-release issues whatsoever. I weigh 180 pounds. I personally like clear because it is much easier to remove and clean the residue from the ski.
  6. Ski: Goode Nano Twist Mid 65" 188 AMP

Bindings: Fogman/Riedell shells, M2 aluminum buckles, Intuition liners, home made G-10 plate, stainless steel hardware, 3M clear Dual Lock 250/400.

Vest: Black Eagle Birds of Prey

    Gloves: Straight Line Tru-Fit Classic

    Handle: In-Tow 12" x 1.06" strung with spectra rope

    Rope: In-Tow & Masterline

    Bag: Goode

    Ski Sock: H2Osmosis

Calipers: Digital Slot (I measure my DFT with Digital Slot Calipers AND EZ Fin Tool and record both measurements).

Trunks: Volcom, O'Neill, Hurley, Oakley, & Rip Curl board shorts.

  7. I have a sheet of black G-10 in 0.092" thickness. Is that too thin to make a G-10 binding plate out of? I was thinking it would flex better and also be slightly lighter. All my previous G-10 plates were made from 0.125" thick G-10. Thanks.
  8. I bought an Eagle Neoprene Ski Sock with built in fin guard. Problem with it was the fin protector had no drainage and the neoprene is not breathable, so if you put your ski away a little damp the water stays in contact with the ski. Sort of makes a humid environment for the ski tail. Faded the graphics and the black paint peeled away at the tail of my Goode Nano Twist.
