  1. @kona is that you kyaking in AK? Bring your ski next time. We saw couple of months of high 70's low 80's this summer. Been a wet, crappy fall though. Still glass as you said! No there are no ice bergs on my lake. Yes we use US currency. I've heard them all.
  2. On my recent trip to Nationals (missed gates at -32 so scored a full pass at -28, but let's move on) I ran my first "practice -38" . It was straight up the rope, on a legit course, behind a 200 with a legit driver! Have been getting only a couple at this purple monster for several years so I was really stoked.

Too bad it doesn't "count". I thought I liked you @Horton.

    Ha.

    Never mind I'm still stoked.

  3. Was one handed for several years, Chet Raley talked me out of it winter before last. His statement to me was that it is good for some and not for others, I am an "other". I went back to glide and go, feels like it is much more consistant and repeatable.
  4. @horton I like the 3 stages. Seems like I've gotten to stage 3 on my last few skis, then sort of go "hmm, why did I like this one better?" Maybe it's at that point that you should take a couple of sets on the "old" ski as a reminder? Then I'd have to stop selling them at stage 1. This is going to get expensive-er.
  5. Chet Raley had my son dropping a hand as soon as he could make the course. His theory was why practice something now that you know will change? Great coach and skier. I remember thinking that it seemed early but it sure made him look more like a skier right away.
  6. Even in Anchorage Ak we can usually mow/rake the lawn for the first time on tax day (April 15). This year I think we are way off track, got about 6" of snow over the weekend and forecast is for high in the upper twenties all week! Bring on global warming!!! Heading to FL again on May 1 to thaw...
  7. For the last few years I've been going back and forth between Alaska waters (50-70) and the bathwater that most of you call lakes (70-90). On my last couple of skis, Radar Strada and Goode 9960 mid, I would consistantly move bindings back for cold water, then forward to factory setting for warm water. This worked great and I preached it as a rule!

I just switched to the Nano 1 and have been skiing cold water with factory settings to my liking, hmmm. Just got back from a trip to Bakersfield (water 85-ish), had a hard time there.

Anyone liking the N1 better in cold water? Maybe just jet lag and skiing too much in 2 days...

  8. With regard to Goode fin numbers, there's a picture on their website that shows getting the length measurement with jaws, not tips, which obviously is way different. Horton are you using Goode's numbers for a "tips" measurement? Also, how close was the ski to these numbers when you got it? Mine ships today supposedly... Coming off a 9960 mid.
