  1. 1994 sn long story short. Loud bang dome cap blown off invertaflo muffler, all else intact, complete lip for cap all cleaned sanded and ready. Question, what is the fastest easiest way to repair this? does it need the dome? Could a fernco cap be used?
  2. John, the Denny interview was great. I'd like to hear from Sammy Duvall, or Carl Roberge, others that would be interesting include the Lapoint boys and top coaches too like Matt Rini, Chet Raley, Jack Traverse just to name a few.
  3. EP was a Wellington company. I still have a EP comp and a Stilleto.
  4. I think the goal of Nationals should be to make an event that skiers and their families want to attend. With that in mind. John you are very happy going to Diablo Pro-AM. I think, you think that is a great event. Is there potential to make Nationals anything like that? I don't know just asking.
  5. Than- a fin with grooves. now that might be interesting. John?
  6. Years ago re-rides for bad boat times were common place but with the advent of new technologies they have been all but eliminated. One thing is certain water skiing like all other sports will continue to evolve. How long is it before you will be able to adjust your ski between passes? (remember the HO power stick) and rules will have to keep up with that evolution.
  7. Horton, yes I know acts of god are currently allowed, what I am wondering are people concerned if someones say; runs 43 off because they were aided by a significant headwind. Certain running events do not allow for world records to be set when the setting of that record is a direct result of weather conditions.
  8. It has all been said above but just to reiterate George and Trish are top shelf people and so wonderful to allow others to share in their paradise.
  9. This is certainly going to be off topic but here goes. How do people feel about wind assisted performances? In certain other sports you can not set a record under certain God given weather conditions. Does water skiing need a wind rule? Just asking no opinion.
  10. So, John I think I'm hearing; for you it is more about the format than placement or validation of your skiing ability(which I think is great) I myself have not participated in a tournament in 10 years for a variety of reasons, but probably first among them is I too do not need a validation of my skiing(read I know when I'm skiing well and I know when I'm not) I think a Big Dawg style tournament format would interest me far more than a traditional style.
  11. John, Thank you for your efforts on the Big Dawg. But in the end I love the Big Dawg. These people Chet, Jeff, Ben, Jeff Dano, et al are my heros regular guys. I'm sorry there was controversy but I will continue to follow and love the BigDawg Thank you Greg Davis!
  12. Yes, I agree. the low impact refers more to Chet and some of the technique he is using to save wear and tear.
  13. Bubski I like to watch Harald and Chet to imitate, emulate and visually train their low impact directional techniques.
  14. I'll second AB. Get a little further up on the boat especially at -32 and maybe start with the handle on your vest, rather than with your hands out in front of you try having the handle on your left hip to start.
  15. Did anyone have video from the boat at the Cedar Ridge Big Dawg?
  16. I have in the neighborhood of 250+ sets(8 passes) can't exactly without my log.
  17. In your considered opinions, how many sets is the average ski good for? We have all heard the stories of skiers on 10 year old skis who knock out 39 off, but in general people switch skis every ... how many years? I am experiencing a goode 9960 which has been a great ski carrying me into 38 off but of late has become very inconsistent. Yes, I know it could be the indian. Finally, do you think certain brands are more or less susceptible to breaking down?
  18. Yes, big congrats to Chet. What binders is Chet on since his huge crash and injury at the SC regional last year? Did he stay with the animal rear?
  19. Did anyone get video or pictures of Chet's run?
  20. Are you truly talking about growing the sport or getting more of the hardcore skiers who don't go to tournaments to come to tournaments? What percentage of hardcores attend tourneys?
  21. Anybody get photos of the south central regionals?
  22. No I use to but first weekend work became a priority and then ZO sort of made it seem like you would not beable to be compedative without lots of practice behind it. 10 years ago I was without perfect pass(and still don't have speed control) but have perfect wife so she can hand drive a 16.95-16.98 every time or even give me a hot or cold time if I request it. (-.15 and 38 goes down)and if she could not it was me that was the problem and she lets me know it! At tournaments I would ski within a bouy either way of what I would practice so I didn't feel like I needed the validation. That said; the nearest tournament is 3 hours, one way, away from me. I went to regional last year and really enjoyed seeing lots of old friends and talking to Chet. So maybe I'll start going again. Who knows. It is a great bunch of people but witthout ZO well IDK
  23. At the actual turn, for some(style dependent), the best thing to think is that you are trying to sit on the bouy. May that can give you avisual to use.
  24. aswinter05 what you are really asking(I think) is how do you initiate the edge change. I say that because in corse sking you should always be riding an edge, never a flat ski. If the ski is on its turning edge(the edge toward the boat) it will turn itself. Then it becomes a matter of style, binding placement and fin settings. Hope this helps. If you are in Florida there are a bunch of great coaches to get valuable information from.
  25. With no intention of speaking for Chet. I believe it is sort of the difference between the way Nate Smith or Chet himself skis and say Jamie B or Carl Roberge ski.
