  1. Maybe instead of running BOS during the day Horton should concentrate more at work and figure out how to make gas cheaper.
  2. Just filled my truck with $3.50/gal regular. If it keeps going up I won't be able to afford to ski this summer.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. Watched a guy totally destroy his foot when the strap kept his front foot halfway in the Approaches.
  4. Has anyone else seen skiing on Google Earth? http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Berkeley+Aquatic+Park,+Berkeley,+CA&sll=37.715542,-121.871132&sspn=0.197173,0.439453&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Aquatic+Park,+Berkeley,+Alameda,+California&ll=37.858717,-122.300251&spn=0.000272,0.000685&t=h&z=21 How long until we can watch this live?
  5. Maybe Horton is thinking Ralph Samuelson.
  6. Ty's dad used to kick us off the slalom course on West Lake during lunch time when I skied for Western Michigan. So I feel partially responsible for Ty being able to live on a private lake!
  7. Hey Horton, I see you posted my favorite instructional ski video on twitter. When is the first interview?
  8. I've seen some cool old ski stuff in some Goodwill type stores. Where is this place at and when is it opening?
  9. So Eric wanted an innie. MasterCraft went with the outtie.
  10. I think the chicks will dig it. Kinda like hanging bull nuts on the back of your pickup.
  11. I also saw the new MC bullet strut on some boats that arrived last week. Couldn't take a picture because the card wasn't in my phone. I might be able to get a photo this week.
  12. LeonL, does 1 package of dye last for all the yellow guides? Also have you tried this on the green guides?
  13. If you ever make tshirts for the kids I have an idea to share: "I'm on the Honor Roll at the Baby Boomers Ski School" Make them look like a bumper sticker.
  14. Boomer, maybe. If your name is Pee Wee, probably not. HaaHaa.
  15. Why do skiers drop on the left side of the boat at most the of lakes in Washington?
  16. Probably not, he uses a Powervest so his pitching muscles aren't used.
  17. My buddy Tim Lincecum will be working in Arlington this weekend and is looking for a ski ride. I think he will be free after Sunday night so something like Monday morning would be good. Anyone down there want to pull him?Â
  18. Funny, USA Water Ski lists PerfectPass as their Official Speed Control Device but you can't use it in a tournament. http://www.usawaterski.org/pages/sponsors.htm
  19. Our club has been putting on a Ski League for the past 4 years and it is run as a Grassroots Fun Tournament so we can make our own rules to keep it fun. Each skier has a handicap so novice skiers can compete against experts. After the skier falls they have the option to continue scoring but with a 2 buoy penalty. Once a score is established they continue their set and ski back to the dock for dinner. Nightly winners get cash and season winners get gift cards from our sponsors. The season Champion is also sent to the Diablo Shores Pro-Am. This year we averaged 16 skiers a night out of a group of about 50. Most of us are former collegiate skiers so it is a highly social atmosphere. We have removed the barriers and disadvantages to traditional tournaments mentioned in this thread and have put competition back into skiing. You can ski & flee but most hang out to the end because it's a good time.
  20. I'm close to your weight and have ridden both sizes at 34 mph. I'd go with the 67" for 36 mph.
  21. Donski, just making sure that you are going the right way but I can see how this can be confusing. The term "taking tip out" actually means pushing the tip of the fin back into the ski. This will result in a shorter length measurement.
  22. I like the concept. What Joe has done is eliminate waste to make the tournament more efficient. For most people their first 2-3 passes are warmup passes to get acclimated to the conditions. So I don't see a problem skipping some of those for the next round score to save time. I'm sure the data will show some people skied worst, the same, or better but the same thing happens when you wait for the next round. And if it shows more people are skiing better in a T&B round who cares if their average goes up a little, you still only get one shot in Regionals and Nationals.
  23. If this is the "Mystery Skier" I'll have plenty of questions. Â http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbSl6kJhimc
