Was there ever consensus reached on which toe bar is required for the Radar G10 plate?

I posted in another thread on this, but I took a couple sets to get used to my Competition (mid stretch) coming from a super stiff Radar mainline. I like a really stiff rope and will get the R3 next time I order, but now that I'm used to the Competition, I really dig it. Great rope at a great price. For reference, the Competition is less stretchy than a ML Optimized if you've used one of those.

@6balls we used to do that all the time as kids instead of showering up at the lake. Jump off the dock to get wet, get out, lather, then see who can leave the longest white streak by running full speed and shallow diving.

@Siouxcitysmitty are all your drivers the same weight? I am 50 lbs heavier than some of my ski buds. Weight bag is just easier

@Sethro I am, though it's a different shape so it's hard to know for certain. Biggest difference I've noticed with the 69 vs 71 is that on the 69, when I need to turn, it'll turn, even if I've over-cooked my entry speed. The 71 would just go blazing past the ball at mach 3. But again, different shape probably has a bit to do with that also.

I'm getting cracks at 32 in the course for the first time ever on this ski. And I only ski the course once every 6 weeks or so. It's a really freekin good ski.

Radar Union sounds like it might be a good option if the Senate doesn't have the support you're looking for.

@dave2ball my point is that different equipment feels different but none of that makes it bad or undesirable. I just wanted to ensure you weren't using my statement about changing my Zbox setting as a negative against a new market entrant with an excellent product, with which I'm very happy as a consumer (and already plan to repeat purchase next time I need a new rope). Case-in-point, I also changed my Zbox setting when I went from a 2019 to 2022 Senate Pro. I love both of those skis.

@dave2ball please don't misrepresent what I said about my Zbox setting. I was coming off a Radar mainline, which is one of the, if not the stiffest in the industry, not a Masterline. I have not skied ML for some time so I can't comment on Slines vs ML. I had my best set of the year this morning on my Slines competition rope, so I'd say the adjustment period is over after 3 sets.

@mmosley899 I think Malibu is also the tow boat for the Duel event in the UK (which looks awesome BTW), San Gervasio, Lacanau Malibu Pro-Am. I'm happy to get to watch the pros ski behind more than one brand all the time.

Big Nev is like 6'14" and he's on a 67 (or used to be). Weight is really more of the determining factor (and speed).

Two ski days on my rope so far. I went with the competition, which is the medium stretch. I'm coming off Radar ropes, which barely stretch at all. I'm also a big guy. TBH, it's taken some adjusting, but by the end of my second set today, I was feeling really good about it. I did bump the Zbox from B2 to C3 to feel the boat earlier in my turn exit, and that, with this rope, had me grinning from ear to ear. I should have talked to Scott before ordering. He would have steered me to the stiffest rope. But I think I'll really end up liking this one. Probably not the worst thing in the world for me to be skiing on a rope that's a little kinder to the body anyways.

I ski on public water much of the time that is super popular with surf boats. Last year, I was at the launch dock when I struck up a conversation with a fisherman and the subject of wakes came up. He said "those &$#% ski boats make it impossible to stand and fish with their giant wakes." I was standing in my Malibu Response at the time and said "this is a ski boat, and you and I are in 100% agreement on those wakes. But this one makes the smallest wake possible and that's what skiers want. Surfers and surf boats are not skiers and ski boats." He thanked me for keeping my wakes small. :smile: But if these guys start going after "ski boats," they may throw out the baby with the bath water. Gotta make sure we're educating as many of them as possible and keeping them as allies against the monster wake crowd.

@Than_Bogan it has been there off and on the past few years as well. The craziest 39 she ever ran was at Stillwaters in Wisconsin 2 years ago.

Wonder if Reg was riding this at Swiss. She wasn't getting the kind of tip rise at 1 and 3 at 39 last weekend that she's had for a few years.

The follow cam on the drone was awesome, though I would suggest that it just follow the boat rather than the skier. I love the vantage point but the back and forth motion was a bit much to track on my big screen TV.

Jakob's got a great stacked technique and is part of the new crop of young skiers like Poland, Hazelwood, etc just without the spotlight. Been following him on IG for a few years. He can rip.
