  1. some more food for thought...

    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-drive/culture/commuting/is-canadian-gas-better-than-american-gas/article13224927/

"Shell V-Power in Canada currently does not contain any Ethanol. In Washington State, both main grade and V-Power would contain 10 per cent Ethanol."

"Shell and other mainstream refiners are constantly adjusting their fuels on an almost weekly basis"

"Shell says that there are environmental differences between the regulations as well. "The federal limit on benzene in gasoline is currently lower in Canada than the U.S., so our levels of benzene are lower; typically we are also lower in sulphur content than in the U.S."

  2. The funny thing is (not really though) that organizations think this training will actually help their liability issue...sure to a certain extent, but we all know it's just a line, and lawyers (no offence to good decent ones) will easily find ways to say that line wasn't good enough, more should of been done and your at fault...

    IT'S NEVER ENDING!!

Frustration with the masses grow because of this, the goal posts keep moving, and not just in this subject

  3. @AdamCord said "The second part is about timing with the boat vs the course. As the rope gets shorter you will necessarily be later relative to the buoys in order to stay in time with the boat."

This is without a doubt one of the most difficult thing to ingrain and change in skiers and so very true...this statement should REALLY be taken to heart

  4. @MattP pretty sure @The_MS has said dumber shit, we all have, you just did...and really his last post was understandable from a certain perspective, obviously not yours...now understand we all have a line, this is a line that some do not want to cross and others have no issue crossing...now your post could be construed as abusive and bullying, which is inappropriate with ALL sports organizations...so we could all be a little removed and look from the outside in on this situation with an open mind or spew direct negative rhetoric and put ourselves in a position to be reported ;)

oh and I just noticed your SAC region chairman...even more reason to act more appropriately than that post lol

  5. I think what you all are missing is that the safe-sport training is really not the issue, it is merely another addition to the myriad of issues or concerns which ultimately culminates into the main issue which is

    BUREAUCRACY

Ease, adaptation, and progressive behaviour does not exist in a bureaucracy

    It's just stifling

  6. @Jody_Seal nails it

"A great leader in this sports industry said the problem with awsa is they refuse to reinvent themselves and change."

    this isn't inclusive to AWSA

I think the problem is generally value based, currently the "value" of going to states/regional/nationals is not appropriate for the general membership, so what would have to happen to attain a general positive "value" for a majority of skiers?

more than one round of skiing is a easy one we can all agree on...

    what else would bring "value"

  7. @Horton you seem to be focusing on your body position SOOOOO much into the buoy that you're pretty stagnant through the turn, you move your weight enough to engage the ski enough to start the turn but there you stay...statuesque...

carving the path with your lead hip, continuing to move ahead will help facilitate smoother turns and get rid of that hitch ya got going on...you do it both sides, just shows more as you shorten the rope

A (super smart and in my mind not revered enough) coach was explaining to me this spring about being ahead of your feet (tried to simplify but poor words to ty and describe the thought)...I don't think I can explain it in words to do it justice as he could...

Plus It's a lot of conversation that I have zero desire to try and type out lol

  8. This isn't gonna be popular but...

Y'all want to ski like you have been (or used to) for however long, but with ZO, more powerful boats, skis that are designed more to be fluid than diggin trenches, there are too many factors to try and emulate "what was"...adapt or die they say....the youngsters are doing better because they learned to ski 'light' they all weigh substantially less than skiers of yesteryear...don't wake the monster is the goal @The_MS

  9. @Horton so to clarify to your last statement someone like @Jody_Seal is clueless and cannot be trusted because he hasn't run 38 this year..

Just lookin to understand the thought train your conducting...

Disclaimer: no offence to anyone named in this post or insinuating a lack of mental capacity in relation to skiing ability or insinuating a greater mental capacity due to a greater skiing ability or a greater or lessor mental fortitude in relation to athletic ability?

  10. So are we're insinuating someone who hasn't run 38, (this year alone yet) has no objective opinion or capability to comprehend or post legit judgement/observations/facts on the relevance of higher octane fuel and shorter line length???

Annnnd are we also insinuating all shorter line skiers have the mental superiority to those that do not???

    Asking for a friend...?
