Scot, Back in my alpine racing days, I'd have one pair (for each discipline) dedicated for races only, and went through another one or two pair of training skis (per discipline) each season - which was pretty much July, then Nov-Mar. If it wasn't for Dynastar, Marker and Technica's generous sponsorships, it would've been tough on my parent's wallet!

Does anyone know anyone who has ridden one of these? It would have to be pretty darn awesome!

My Sahara fits nice and tight too, and I was lucky enough to get one of the last one's they produced before going under. Hopefully someone has some insight, as my suit won't last forever.

Amen Ed, this is what I eluded to earlier. Waterskiing is similar to alpine racing, specifically GS, not necessarily just snow skiing. If one hasn't raced or studied ski racing, the similarities would be hard to wrap the brain around.

I haven't seen one in person yet, but I wondered what kind of interior space it would have. I've spent some time in a 200DD, and it seemed that moving the motor to the back would still make for some tight space for wrap around seating. I suppose that's the nature of the beast when you only have 20' to work with. Maybe they'll come out with a 21 footer that skis better than a 196 too ;-)  Sorry for the sarcasm!

If dealer cost on a 200 std is in the low $40's, they must've had some serious cost increase in the past few years. Don't misunderstand, I'm not disagreeing with you, that just seems really high (with knowing what dealer cost was on an '06 196). It's certainly more than a 4% per year increase, but I'm assuming the 200 had decent bump.Â

Hey 6, Have you had Marine Max sharpen the pencil on that boat? I bet you get at least $20k knocked off that $76. That's one issue I have with these boats... some of us are lucky enough to have dealers who sell at legit prices, and others seem to be getting spanked. My dealer was $44,995+tax on an ordered out 2011 200CB std, with single axle Phoenix trailer. Add a grand on to that now, with the Cat being mandatory, but still. Of course, with the dealer territory requirements, you may be stuck dealing with MMX.Â

Odd that no one pulls the trigger on this boat? You think it's because people want to train behind the boats they will encounter at tournaments, or simply Svfara is an unknown for those in the US?

That Svfara is a screaming deal! I almost bought it from him when it was $18,900. It's a ZX-1 with a nicer interior. They're lightning quick, and fast = 50+. They also handle and track awesome. Svfara also uses the same Faria instrumentation as Nautique LE/TE's. If I didn't just buy a 196, I may be on my way to grab that boat right now. In fact, my brother might go buy it.  Be warned though, the one who buys it will be stuck with it, or take a huge loss like the owner. He started posting it at 22 or 23 grand over a year ago. Most ZX-1's sell in the 10-13 range, but of course, this boat is newer. It's a steal for what it is. The problem is not many people really know what it is.Â

Just another example of liberty dying right before our very eyes. It sounds like another gov bureaucrat trying to justify employment by taking on a non-issue. The DNR here in WI tried shutting down skiing through channels in our chain of lakes, but were shot down by the owners association. They set up local bylaws to allow it. I think we also finally have a governor in WI willing to fight this type of government intrusion. Good luck in ME. If it helps, I'll join that boating group, or donate to a legal defense fund. Just let us know what it will take.

Congrats! I have more pictures and fond memories of the day I picked up my first new boat than of my wedding day. Of course, I'm divorced now... It's going to be hard waiting for spring!
