  1. My bilge stays relatively dry, as the carpet soaks up water brought in from skis, jackets, ropes, etc….even though we drip dry before getting in the boat.  Well, must of us do. The newer boats without carpet drain all that water into the bilge. At least that’s how it works on the 2019 TXi we use frequently that has seadek flooring. 

  2. I also keep my boat on a dolly in a boathouse with tracks down to the water. I raised my rear bunks to help the fins and prop clear the transition at the seawall.  But it also happens to make the bilge drain plug the low point. This also helped with keeping the boat securely on the bunks while bringing it up the rails, as they are about a 12 degree incline.   Not very pretty as I just used material on hand.

  3. I’ve always been hesitant because I was afraid it’d be too small. Even though I was assured at 6’5” and 235ish lately that the XL C85 would be big enough. I’d sure like to try one of those XXXL if that’s what you decide to call it. I have a couple of neoprene products with that size designation so I’m not scared. 😜

  4. You mentioned going out with 150lbs, but didn’t really clarify if you got it leveled (unless I missed it) at speed to where all was good? Every time out will require some maneuvering around of your load to get the boat level, and even changing drivers, unless your load is identical each time. I must be too used to this over the last 30 years skiing with finicky trick skiers….ok, I’m admittedly one myself.

  6. @bananaron I’m with you on owning older things that work just fine. My friend just bought a brand new Chevy 3500 diesel with all the options. The value of every car/truck I own (5), boats/watercraft (4), and tractors (3) doesn’t even come close to the money he’s got in that truck. They’re all well maintained and cosmetically very nice as well, so that keeps the upgrade bug at bay for me.

  7. Cruise about 20mph with the crew you’re going to be skiing with. Move bodies around, also slide left and right to fine tune, and use extra weight if necessary. When you have an equal wake that’s the weight distribution you need. Swim platform might not be perfectly level either.

  8. I think my 3.5" Perfect Pass multi-line display is starting to die. The last two times out the display fails to show anything for a while, but eventually comes to life after 10-15 minutes and works just fine. I absolutely don't want to upgrade to GPS Stargazer, as a huge portion of my Perfect Pass use is pulling finicky trick skiers on a river with a variable current. That appears to be my only option direct from Perfect Pass. My paddle wheel system is by far the boat of choice over the rest of the crew and their zero off and Perfect Pass Stargazer systems for this purpose.

    Before I start tinkering with the display too much, is there anyone out there that has an old 3.5" multi-line working display they'd like to sell from a previous upgrade? I know I'm the minority that doesn't want a GPS system, so there are probably quite a few displays out there collecting dust after upgrades. Worst case scenario I could go back to my single line display and previous software I suppose. Anyone else have this issue and come up with a fix? I intend to call Perfect Pass for any ideas, but their website is pretty clear the paddle wheel input system is no longer supported.

  9. @Broussard hopefully, if that scenario came to light they wouldn't just use the increased production capacity to build yet even more wakeboats...my understanding is they sell as many as they can make. What we don't know is would they sell as many wake boats as they could make without taking some of the build slots away for the direct drive.
  10. Malibu and MasterCraft are both publicly traded companies. I’m glad they are still building the direct drive, but in reality when the board of directors sees that every build slot is full, and they make more on a wake boat, it does make one speculate that they could pull the string someday chasing profits.
