  1. Someday I want a water molecule made out of buoys.... nerdy, I know.....
  2. Seriously, you couldn't come up with a better name than "Sid"? He's full of it (I'd know, I'm married to him).
  3. I've got soft contacts. I'm not blind without them, just have an astigmatism so things are a little out of focus. I just ski without them. At least when I'm not wearing them things are consistently blurry and it doesn't catch me off guard coming around a ball, plus water under my lenses is way worse than my naturally poor vision. If I forget to take them out I just make sure I keep my eyes closed tightly for a longer period of time and then wipe my face before i open them. Hope you don't have too short of a set up.....
  4. I love this thread. I think I say "ready", "whenever", and "alrighty" most. I wonder if my subconscious choice of one over the other has any correlation to my mood and therefore performance..... What's with parents having their kids say "hit it", mine definitely did that too. One of my favorites from my dad is "let's do it to it!"
  5. I have a question about these gloves, is the palm material the same fairly tough material as the locks were or are they a softer leathery feel like the masterline clinchers. I love the feeling of the clinchers, but I get blisters pretty bad compared to in my locks. Hopefully someone here has worn both and can compare. Unfortunately there is nowhere near here to try them on :(
  6. 25 but have been doing it awhile (though you wouldn't know it by my performance) /vanilla2/uploads/FileUpload/2/762.jpg
  7. ha. We used those ten years ago as kids. Our parents would never let us slalom with them but we could use them for swimming or tricking.
  8. "Skidog... Your not serious about drink more beer and eat pizza are you??? I'll have to check with my trainer first, lol . Anything is better than sitting on a couch day after day healing I guess. " If you knew him, you'd know how utterly hilarious this question is. Also, P90x is an intense workout video series by Tony Horton (that lasts for 90 days). Part cardio, part strength and 100% crazy. It'll get you in shape for sure but you definitely need good knees. Ed- if you can't handle plyo you can always do the cardio workout instead, you'll still see results!
  9. John - I wouldn't write off ever doing this again due to low interest.. Think about the time of year it was right after christmas, noone has any money, maybe people got new vests for christmas (me) and so on, I bet this would have been a huge hit back in the late summer and I wouldn't want the community to miss out on another chance for something cool like this just because this one was a little hassle. Unless that is that there is some more behind the scenes trouble that we don't know about.
  10. Ok I tried to post a video of Skee lo's "I Wish". Yes, I watched the tutorial and am using chrome yet the video won't show up. Oh well, google it.
  11. I bought some 41 tail gloves in July and within a month they were ripped open between the thumb and index finger. They stretch ALOT when wet. Now, I'm a girl and my hands are small. The XS I have get way too big when wet. Perhaps this somehow causes increased force/stretching which causes them to rip apart. My "solution" is to keep my hands out of the water as much as I can. My husband has the radar locks (discontinued) and LOVES them. He's trying to convert me but I don't know. I liked the feel of the tails and the fact that they only bunched up on me when they were stretched out. Can't really comment on other types. I have the hardest time finding something I like. Maybe it's because my hands are too small for men's XS gloves and there's a TERRIBLE selection of gloves for women. Skidawg ended up giving me his sons gloves (he's 8!). They're a touch tight but will be perfect when they get stretched out.
  12. I'm pretty sure that these boots will release easily in any direction except through the ski. I have been on them for a few weeks, and they are very easy to get out of in any fall. My only concern with them is that they are very narrow until you get them broken in and still give me a bit of trouble with my wide feet. I am wearing size 12 and my feet are size 10.5EE Kevin on Katies account
  13. No kids! It's all kfennells fault for sure...
  14. Looks like they are cheap at least... http://compare.ebay.com/like/270647954134?ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&rvr_id=163284748879&crlp=1_263602_304662&UA=WVF%3F&GUID=175fe93112c0a06c1b52cbe2ff680022&itemid=270647954134&ff4=263602_304662
  15. Oh what the heck. My name is Katie, I'm 25 and ski with my husband (kfennell) and skidawg at old oaks. My dad got into skiing in college and put me on skis (that he made) at roughly 18 months old. I didn't compete until I was in G3 and only did for a couple years ('96/'97? in Colorado). Circumstances resulted in me only free skiing a couple times a year after that. Eventually I smartened up and got back into skiing but didn't have the practice time (or coaching) that getting better required. This year my husband and I decided it was a priority to find a lake and here we are. I run 15 @ 28 consistently and have run 15 @ 30 a handful of times. My husband says I don't try hard enough so I guess those numbers should be better... haha
  16. Yeah, I'm probably not the best representative of my gender. Spending two years (for a degree) talking about nothing but ovaries, testes, etc sorta skewed my judgment of what's accepted socially.... Also, I probably wouldn't actually wear it but I do think it's hilarious.
  17. I would so WEAR that shirt, and i'm female.
  18. OMG Fennell, why did that have to be video of me?!
  19. Here is what pro ski coach says, I don't know if it's right though. http://www.proskicoach.com/skis/OBrien/Elite/2009
  20. Awesome! We were definitely leaning toward the Senate!
