  1. Had the honor of skiing with Mark yesterday and got to watch him run a pass he hasn't seen in a few years (behind our Carbon Pro!). Congrats Mark and best of luck at Nationals!!
  2. Definitely agree, a newer ski will perform much better. I've loved every D3 I've used after coming off a VTX. Night and day difference!
  3. @Dscholfield - Honestly, I'd probably stop skiing if I didn't have the driver/friend interaction that having a cable system eliminates. If I can't get/give shit-talk (ok, or coaching for that matter) while sitting at the end of the lake waiting for my next pass, what's the point? It's not always about your actual passes but about the lifestyle. I suspect the social interaction will strongly limit the popularity of that kind of system.
  4. Remind me not to go to pikos then? what do you have like 15 feet tops to shore?
  5. I can see it. What speed/length is this? It's actually a bit hard for me to see because you're essentially a silhouette the whole time with the way the light is. Video with more light would be better but one thing I see (I think) is that you're not extending your arms well through your turns. Really extending them out and UP so your shoulders are level is important. It looks to me that you really drop your hand toward the water right before you fall. I've been working on this myself and it makes for much, much nicer finishes.
  6. I've got an HO ninety six that I got in 1996-1997 and initially used on a VTR. I believe it's an X-small and I used it until about a month ago (women's size 8 foot). I can send pictures later if you'd like. I don't really know what a reasonable price would be so shoot me an offer if you're interested. I'd rather see it used than sitting in my storage room.
  7. If you have the white cuff, try moving the strap to the top hole. I had all sorts of issues when I got mine that went away as soon as I did that. You'll get use to it and then you'll love it!
  8. Yeah I am having a real problem with my pull into 2. For the longest time i wasn't getting into the good position, trying to pull right out of the ball, now I am getting into a rood position and getting a ton of speed but holding it for too long. I guess I need to consciously start coming out of my pull earlier at the lower speeds and carrying speed out so that I am not having to change at the higher speed.
  9. oh, posted with wifes account, imagine I am a 29 year old man when answering
  10. We were discussing on the drive home tonight that most people probably learn 36 mph when they are kids and move right from skiing something like 32/-28 to 36/-22. It is Hard to ski 36 -15! I can run 34 and 34/-22 almost every time, but only a few times getting through the course at 36 now. I am thinking I will go back to 34 for a while and run a bunch of -22 and -28 maybe and then slowly speed the boat up at those rope lengths. Thoughts?
  11. So I got looking at the manual for my new bindings today and it looks like they are supposed to be held down on the ski using a bit of velcro to help the release mechanism. The FM guide is vague about what brand of velcro that it is, probably so that they can sell the $35 sheets from their website. What kind do I need to get to go on the ski side. The boots already have what looks like regular heavy duty "soft" side velcro on them, but I want to make sure I get the right thing for on the ski since apparently it is the velcro that gives you your lateral support. These bindings are really more confusing then I expected!
  12. @skidawg - you know it. I'm not afraid to admit it either. :p
  13. Turns out hardshells are only safer ON the water.
  14. Donath Lake Reservoir (Ft. Collins, CO) http://i.imgur.com/V4lTN.jpg Old Ward's Pond (Shreveport, LA) http://i.imgur.com/XI9C2.jpg San Marcos River Ranch (San Marcos, TX) http://i.imgur.com/7Dsh4.jpg
  15. @skidawg - not entirely sure there's beer left. We'll get the agent to scope it out. Glad y'all will actually have a place to stay now if we do regionals here!
  16. @dthate - we've got lot 7. It's the dock with the partially finished storage room and Carbon Pro. Which is yours?
  17. You're just bitter Kevin. Thanks @horton!! I'm pretty excited!! Also sad strada's don't come small enough for my tiny lady feet, I need new bindings! Big thanks to Radar and Tommy's too! I grew up a few miles from Tommy's and, as kids, my brother and I got more excited for a trip to Tommy's than we would have a candy store.
  18. @Horton - not your fault, our names are too alike. Also - he's already trying to trade them for himself a ski! Rude!
  19. @jedgell - they said 4% for 66 months. Term is based on the age of the boat (2012 actually), rate is based on credit score. I get the best rate offered. :p
  20. It's cold compared to here in the south and not made for tournaments but I grew up on this reservoir in northern Colorado. It will always be my favorite.
  21. Hi all! Just wanting to get some feedback from anybody who's gotten a boat loan. My husband and I are shopping loans now and are curious who others have used. Any input on rates, closing time, how you get the money, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Katie Fennell
  22. hahaha @Thager - probably. But.... http://i.imgur.com/JbnxD.jpg
  23. It's not the condition. It's that a 2008 looks like a 1988. I'm the first to roll my eyes at the "wife didn't like the color" comments and generally I don't care but my brain won't let me spend that kind of money on something that looks as old as me.
