  1. @gt2003 I used the suction cup mount and suction'ed it to the tip of my ski. You can use the gopro suction cup mount, but I use the 3-way suction cup mount from a company called Xtreme-Xccessories (http://www.xtreme-xccessories.co.za/p/2928/triple-suction-cup-mount-preorder) Hope this helps!
  2. @pgmoore I using my Hero 4 Black Edition, at 1080, 120 fps - wide. I ski from 14m down, and works great!. I hook up the wifi remote and strap the wifi remote to the steering wheel so that the driver can just click record for the passes and so that you don't land up with hours of footage but rather individual passes. Check out my youtube channel for more cool gopro photo's and videos! www.youtube.com/skitrav Instagram: skitrav Hope this helps!
  3. 3 days of 86 degree water and 90+ air - But it's only downhill from here now for us!
  4. Any other ballers care to share the settings they are running on their V-Types? I was on the A3(2013 one) and switched to the V-Type. Done 11 sets on it. Right off the dock, I ran same scores as my A3 however I do feel I can go further with this ski. I am interested to know what other's are finding of the ski and settings they are running? I am running the following settings: 66" Boots: 29 Length - 6.9 Depth - 2.495 DT - 0.750” Wing: 8 degrees
  5. @Horton Check out FPVfactoy's waterproof drone - http://www.fpvfactory.com/products/mariner-accessory/mariner-rtf/fpvfactory-waterproof-quadcopter-mariner-rtf-kit-fly-with-gopro-waterproof-camera-625.html I have got one hopefully arriving Mid January. It's fully water proof. The camera stays in the housing unlike on the Phantom's. It is stronger and more powerful than the phantom as well. I have DJI Phantom 2 and I do get nervous flying over the water. However; If you make sure you set your gps position properly and ensure your battery is level is fine, you shouldn't have any problems! The video you posted above is brilliant!
  6. GoPro ShowReel 2014. - Here's to 2015! I have put together some of my best footage from this year into a short 1 minute clip. It is mostly skiing orientated and also includes some pretty cool drone footage. Hope you enjoy it and please feel free to share!
  7. For some, its only starting! ;)
  8. I have been searching around forum and it seems the best way to get rid of water grass is using Lake Dye and Grass Karp. Our dam is low at the moment and we have just started summer so our rains should be coming soon but at the moment the grass is huge problem. Currently the water is not running over the wall, so my thinking is that Dye would work as long as the water is not running over the wall? Am I correct? I realize that if we have heavy rains it may mean we will lose the dye but if the heavy rains comes then too the dam would fill up and the water will turn brown and kill the grass. They also irrigate from our dam for crops. Has anyone had any issues with lake dye and crop farmers when their crops may turn blue? :) We are going to put grass karp in but it seems it will be a while before we notice any effect. Does anybody have any other ideas to immediately solve the problem the grass problem other than dye?
  9. @Chuck_Dickey‌ Buy a suction cup mount but remember to tie your gopro to your boot so that you don't lose the camera if the suction cup mount falls off. Other options are to buy the seat-post mount to attach to your handle. The 3rd person view mounts are also great to have - www.wizmount.com Have a look at my footage on my youtube channel www.youtube.com/skitrav or Instagram: skitrav which may help you to decide what mounts to buy.
  10. Use the roll bar mount and put it directly on the handle. Got some pretty cool shots like that
  11. Can't wait on Summer to arrive for us! Took this photo with my DJI here in South Africa this past weekend! :)
  12. @Horton‌ Is that the Wakeye with or without the shock tube?
  13. Summer 2014 - in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa!
  14. Hey @horton That would be us! We have a house and ski at the same lake that @mad11 is talking about. Check out the website if anyone is interested www.birdvalleyestate.co.za . Probably the top ski SA in South Africa! @mad11 - Was great to ski a bit with you guys. Hope to see you back soon! @JJVDMZN - Look forward to seeing you guys this weekend at the mini league!
  15. Some gopro shots from summer in South Africa!
  16. Received my wakeye camera mount last week from John at Wakeye. I have tried it with numerous different cameras from go pro's to decent handicams however the camera tends to shake a lot when the skier even has the slightest of slack line. I am using the master line shock tube(the small one). The shock tube doesn't sit tight in the camera bracket arm. Is this correct? Also the camera mount tends to move a lot, back and forth.(the entire mount). I have clamped it tight, using the 3mm rubbers as provided and I am clamping it onto a Ski Nautique 200 pylon. If you have any tips for getting the smoothest footage using the Wakeye, please let me know! Thanks in advance.
  17. - Go Pro Summer - Go Pro Winter Have a look here at my videos. There is some Gopro footage from the ski. I used the suction cup mount from gopro and seems to hold.
  18. Oneil hybrid. I have used mine in under 50 degree water and been fine. The best thing is to wear a jersey or jacket under your dry suit. I tend to find that even with straps, the baggy drysuit's seem to catch on the water the whole time. I have had 2 Oneil hybrid's and both after 2 years started leaking.
  19. Took this photo using the wizmount backpack system and my hero 3. Quite a unique angle
  20. I have been using the GoPro Suction Cup mount on my ski. Tethering is essential as the camera even with floaty backdoor doesn't float when attached to the suction cup mount. The suction cup mount is nice as when you are finished you can just take the mount off and don't have any permanent mounts stuck down on your ski.
