Just got back from Okee. Looks like the RCX is a keeper! Like Mr. Jones said rock solid stable & forgiving, just not terribly fast.

@Ed Obermeier, keep posting, it's a big help. I read all the threads related to PP/ SG. I logged countless hours trying to dial in SG. Two seasons to be exact. The guys @PP were great but never got it dialed in. The one thing I haven't tried & was never suggested by PP was lowering the baseline. Looking FWD to spring & trying my last resort!

Didn't WSM do an artical back in the day w/ Wade Cox & a radar gun? Pretty sure he was clocked at just under 60 MPH crossing the wakes. A mere mortal running 35 was 10 MPH slower. He said that's why a lot of guys run 35 but not 38 The game sure has changed, hasn't it?

Slack in the line before the pullup is key. I hate to feel rushed. I just love dropping and having the boat next to me. Say anything, I'm great, I suck, I'm ugly, it doesn't matter. I'm the one behind the boat, it's all about me.

My last trip to okee I saw a few RCX's. Not to many for sale on Skiitagain, I'm looking foward to next week.

I like how forgiving the white top is. I'm hoping for the same in the RCX. I'm down to 195 lbs. From 210 lbs. Last year so I think I can handle a ski with a little more get up and go. Any recommendations on fin settings or just go with the factory settings?

Long story short, I'm still on an old Nomad w/ the white top, loved it from day one. A new ski is not in the budget this year. Found a hardly used RCX i'm going to demo next week @ okeeheelee. I know the white top is a little long in the tooth but can anybody shed a little light on the differences or similarities of the two? I'm a men 4 skier, usually get halfway through 32 off at tourneys. Thanks

I've heard rumors of a new slalom tug, but nothing about a bare bones boat. Not sure if theres a market for such a boat. I would buy a new bare bones boat without all the bling if they could sell it for half the price of a new Prostar.

@ Ed Obermeier Please do. I've been struggling w/ SG for two seasons now. Did the system reset, inverted tach and so on. I'm the only 34 MPH skier in the group so I usually bail on SG and run PP classic. Doesn't your fix have something to do with lowering the baseline? MJE's link didn't open for me. Thanks

I do. Free skiing and doing drills is a great way to work on certain aspects of slalom. 2 years ago we towed a boat to okeeheelee in april for a week of skiing after six months off. The first 2 days we skied 3 sets each. Each set was 4 passes,drills only. I was amazed at the end of day 2 i was only slightly sore and chomping at the bit to ski more. Day 3-5 still 3 sets a day, still doing drills but pass 3 was a free ski and pass 4 was bouys. Last 2 days first pass was drills, then bouys galore. I got to spend a week in the waterski paradise, skied three sets a day, and didn't beat myself up until the tail end of the trip.

@Horton My thoughts excactly. When I skied with him in 2008 I figured he would be the young gun to keep an eye on.

@Taelan25 No problems with the exhaust. The frame for the saddle bag runs along the bottom keeping the ski bag of the exhaust.

What happened to T Mo? I see he is ranked 14th in the IWSF, last tourney looks like 11/28/10 Skied w/ him in FL in 2008, fun guy, great balance and very static. Anyone have any info?

This is how i do it on my Road King. I just remove one saddle bag & bungee it to all the other gear. Then use the frame for the saddle bag, & the passenger floor board to bungee down the ski which is well padded in the ski bag. Got on the Fogman hardshells W/ Fogman realease mech.last season because of a cronic bad (rear) ankle. Got some good input from the BOS crew. No pre realease issues but did tweak my front ankle in July pretty good as explained by 9400. Not a whole lot of skiing this year but fortunately no bad crashes so i can't help with your last question.

@ShaneH Thanks. I always forget to compensate for the 55'S I just eliminated one potential site out of three.

Thanks DW. Just trying to eliminate too short a setup.We have alot of tidal flats here and using Google Earth with the ruler from the toolbar is pretty cool,quite accurate too. Once we get the boats going at the end of the month we can time them to speed.

I'm playing on Google Earth looking for a possible second site and was wondering what is the approximate distance to 34 MPH? Boat is a bone stock 96' PS 190 w/ 275hp TBI motor,non slot,13x13 prop. I'm thinking 300' is adequate. Our current site has a long set up and it will be at least a month before the old boat gets salty. Thanks.

Rui, I met you at regionals @ Twim Lakes in 07? Also last year @ the Wolfboro tourney in August. I was helping you on the dock W/ handle changes. Iv'e been pretty busy looking into all of the products everyone been suggesting. Still leaning towards the Fogmans. Mike

Thanks for all the input. I don't have any first hand experience W/hardshells so all the info is helpful. I'm tossed between the Fogmans & FM Quattro. Not looking foward to spending all this money just to see if i can ski this spring but i don't have to many options. I'm in the NYC area, not excactly the waterski meca of the world. I thought about putting something together from used stuff but like I said no firsthand experiance whatsoever. I'm also under the gun a little. I need to purchase something soon and get the new smaller orthotic made before mid April when we head down to Okeeheelee for a week of skiing. I plan on making some calls today & checking on return policies for unused stuff. Like lpskier pointed out i might need a larger size boot for the orthotic. Wait a sec, lpskier? I saw this somewhere on here, John W?  Rui? Could be just a brain fart.

Thanks guys. I was on the Reflex site, is this something new? I thought the rear boot was permantly attached to the ski?

Ankle issues (back foot) cut my season short last year. After 2 months of PT produced lousy results I went to a specialist,got an MRI,I'm back in PT,and wearing a custom made Richie Brace which totally supports/encapsulates my ankle. Hardshells seem the best option for ankle support and i have the option of having a custom orthotic made for the hardshell. I'm currently looking into the Fogman set up w/ the G-10 plate. Any input on this set up or on the transition to hardshells would be greatly appreciated. Stats: Currently on a D3 nomad (white top) dbl.leverage bindings, tourney PB is 1@35 Thanks
