  1. I'm there for the score for the most part. If my close friends or guys I have friendly competition with are there, I may stand up at a buoy or S-turn so I can say I beat them and hold it over their head. If they aren't there I'm turning the buoy and trying to get to the next one even if I have no chance of getting there. last year every round I skied I got to 3 ball. My last tournament of the year I was hell bent of getting past 3 ball, my second round I thru the ski out at 4 ball, I got a 3, 3 and 3.5 from the judges so 3 it was. The third round and last round for the year for me same thing but in a little better shape, 3.5, 3 and 3.25 so 3.25 it was. That extra 0.25 felt great, you would have thought I won the Olympics. It didn't matter that some other person had a better score than me, I was just happy I did more than 3!
  2. In an earlier post someone mentioned the old EP system. How did that work?
  3. I don't get ability based nor does my 13 year old daughter when I asked her about it. So your the best 22 off skier, great. She doesn't go to tournaments to try to be best of the mediocre, she goes to try and be the best that she can be, and looking at the scores of the girls that are better and higher on the ranking list pushes her to try even harder. Why not have handicapped tournaments at the State level, I know Ohio does this and their tournaments seem to have a decent turn out, this seems to make things more interesting and competitive. Is it the ability based brackets that make INT more enjoyable to attend, I would say no? Everyone on shore is cheering for the person on the water. Some of the AWSA tournaments I have been to, people show up, ski and leave, no cheering for anyone else, no support, they get their score and leave. Seems like the social aspect needs to change. Not how we score. There is also a ton of bureaucratic B.S. you have to go through to get involved as a judge, scorer, driver etc in AWSA. INT, if you can count to 6, good, get in the boat and score. I know this might be oversimplified but it seems like we could make it easier for new people to get involved and not feel intimidated about all the B.S. that goes on to having a tournament.
  4. @savaiusini want to purchase the HO version of the Reflex set up, looked at it at nationals but unfortunately you didn't have a right foot forward with the generic plate. When will it be available to purchase?
  5. I would be happy with auto start stop technology, think of how many hours you put on a boat setting at the end of the lake shortening a rope and taking a short break, I would say 50% of your time is sitting at the ends
  6. I did not participate even though I was qualified and I was even there with my daughter to ski. She skied well and placed but why do I want to pay the money to finish middle of the pack in Men's 3. I know USA Waterski wants the numbers up for sponsors and venders etc. but it seems like to many people can qualify for nationals, when's the last time someone out of the the top 15 podiumed? Seems like there should be less particapents and a shorter Nationals. I don't even mind the single round, it's nationals, the "elite" of the sport. Also I have no opinion on practice my daughter and I never practice at any site, I think the buoys are supposed to be the same distance apart from each other from one site to the next.
  7. Practice? isn't that what your first two opening passes are for?
  8. 2003 Mastercraft PS197 with a bobtail 2010 MCX with ZeroOff. The MCX engine has 950 hours the haul has 2550 hours on it. I would say the gel is a 7.5 out of 10 and the interior is 6 out of 10. Heater, hot shower, heated seats, tower, trailer completely gone through, new brakes, LED lights bearings etc.. I know its hard to say with out pictures but I'm looking for a ball park, i have an idea what I was going to post it for but wanted to make sure I wasn't out to lunch.
  9. I like the idea. I don't ski many tournaments a year but when I aged up to M3 I stopped skiing tournaments all together because I didn't want to go 34. 4 years later I started skiing tournaments again when my daughter started skiing them. If I could have kept skiing at 36 I probably would have kept skiing those 4 years. I also a agree that 38'@36mph isn't equivalent to 39'@34mph, but under this proposed rule I could chose whichever I think I can put a better score. Also I would think the better skiers would opt to run max speeds, so IWF ranking lists wouldn't change.
  10. I got a jump this year from a club that was going under, it needed some severe maintenance, but it is looking good now. I college about 30 minutes away contacted my about using it. I'm unsure if I want to take this liability risk, but also don't want to be exclusive and want the sport to grow. What would you guys do? and what would you charge? I lease the boat based on hours so I need to cover that at least...
  11. yes a little to wide at the waist, but it is still a great top
  12. After using any of the above methods for cleaning, waxing is a must. If you don't wax it will yellow again much quicker.
  13. @Murrski did you wear the gloves under your normal ski gloves? you think you will have any issue with durability of the gloves?
