  1. I have asked everyone I know about this. Jody and Skip are the only ones that are aware of initial testing. I have not heard of the new pucks and software on a 5.7. That does not mean it doesn't exist. I would question how much work went into calibration of the new software to the 5.7. I know it took a bunch of work for the new engines. The new GPS receivers are up for sale on the zeroff website.

Supposedly the "bad" garmin pucks could be reflashed and work correctly. I don't know who did the reflash, nautique or zeroff. I would like to know if this could be done instead of buying new receivers.

I think all of us are wondering what the new speed control will feel like next year? I know they were trying to calibrate the new setup to get a similar feel to the older feel. How close we will see. I am not going to upgrade until I see how things shake out. It ought to be interesting to see what happens this year.

  2. This is my 20th year with hard shells. I started with the first generation Fogmans with no release. I have had one significant ankle injury that occured with the fogman diablo system. I would have been injured in that event in any system. Just my experience. I know I have been lucky and probably have titanium ankles. It is smart to try to reduce injuries but some are inevitable.

My 2 ski rigs. 15 200 6liter and my new to me 1963 Rayson Craft that I just bought from Jody. I plan to restore it a bit and cruise all over Cumberland Lake on my Majerajah Long Board.

  4. JB Weld has worked well for me. I found this accidentally when repairing a hole in the bottom of the ski. I'm sure there might be something better but this worked great. Was on there for 3 years. I know that you must get all the other adhesive residues off of there first.

@NTX Talked to my pastor about foregiveness..... BUT DO NOT SEND ANYTHING TO RON.

  5. It all started in 2014 in the opening round of the Average Joe's vs. Women pros if everyone remembers.............Shortly after this photo, Regina obviously the higher seed, sent Bruce out first in the head to head matchup. Bruce had some serious adrenaline going and hit one ball perfect and created massive angle......It was this angle that sent him head first into 2 ball. The resulting explosion of sorts was the highlight of the entire event according to the spectators who had never witnessed such a horrendous crash in the slalom event.

It was this crash, in my opinion, that resulted in the slight tearing of the bicep that eventually let loose the next season. Skiboat 38, the saavy competitor realized the fragile nature of Bruce's bicep and knew that it was his chance to end their competition for the year. Was it an accident that Skiboat 38 talked Bruce into buying the 6 liter??? Who knows? I am very anxious for the 2016 ski season begin so we can see what the Firkin Guy vs. Skiboat 38 competition brings.

  6. Phase separation of ethanol....Fact

    Ethanol more corrosive...... Fact

Shelf life of E10 90 days... Fact

    Cost/BTU of E10 Higher...... Fact

    AV gas no ethanol..... Fact

E15 will not be approved for

    Sales to Marinas........ Fact

    Higher taxes because of

    government ethanol subsidies. Fact

I guess we should just all be okay with more ethanol.

  7. My 2011 SN manual says no more than E10 as well as my twin Mercury Racing 700 SCI manuals. This problem with this mandate is not about tune and ecm fuel maps. It is the fact that ethanol deteriorates rubber in fuel systems and also is corrosive to some metals in tanks and fuel lines. The greater the concentration, the more damage will occur. As mentioned before are the issues with precipitate of water contaminated ethanol.

Science is science. If you are a boater, democrat or republican, this is going to be very expensive for us all.

  8. I have been thinking for a while that the only way to make a boat excellent at multiple things is to be able to change the shape of the hull. This is easily possible and incredible that no manufacturer has done this. It would be possible to add plates to multiple areas of the hull. The front of the running surface is an important area as well. To design a static hull for multiple events requires engineers to compromise. The hydrogate is a low tech example of changing hull shape but it is significant in effect. Every time I look at mine I cringe looking at 3rd world like engineering. I like the way your thinking Daco. My vision would be smaller separate plates in the front and the back.
  9. It is much better engineering. Handling will be a lot better docking and retrieving skiers. Top speed will be a lot higher. Negative trim angle will pull the transom down without having to add ballast or drag. My big question would be durability of the cone clutch shifting and the limited service network of Volvo in our area.
  10. This does have merit. I tie a handle to a post in my basement. The isotonic exercise is great to build strength in shoulders, neck and legs. I just do this as part of my weight workout. To increase the load, bend your knees as you would in an ideal lean position. In years when I have done this, it has really limited the soreness in the spring. I try to hold the position as long as I can both sides. Everyone give a rip and post back. You'll be surprised at how quickly your strength will fade. Just be sure to get something for a foot stop or you'll crash hard.
  11. I think the venue is a "showcase" location for the event. I attended one of the Bud/Mastercraft Pro Tour events at Ivanhoe back in the late 70's or early 80's. It was a great atmosphere for the average fan. They will want to come see the jump event mainly. Jump is what is really cool for the average person.

If waterskiing is to be promoted, location more than good conditions for the skiers is top priority. Rob Shirley understood this and that is one reason why that tour was the most successful one in history. I still have a bunch of them recorded. I need to post one up.

The pros need to realize that adapting to different conditions and formats is an important asset. They need to be prepared to compete in variable and tough conditions for the good of the promotion of the sport and to put food on the table.

As far as the Big Dawg being there, I don't have a particular problem with it but if I were Nautique I would fill in the time necessary with things spectators would really find interesting, like some of the show things like Sea World used to do. I don't think having the Big Dawg there will put more potential Nautique customers on the beach.
