  1. @eleeski @Than_Bogan Y'all are killin me. I work in dollars and cents every day - hence the comfort with 2 decimal places. I understand the importance of maintaining precision of the calculation to the least precise variable within the equation. I was really just trying to be a half-ass nerd with it and not get buried in the details. However, as a jumper, I thought it'd be cool to get my jump measurements in ft and in as well as meters, which you would need the extra decimal place in the meter measurement to do (going back to the thread of if you think in feet or meters). Sorry for thinking too abstractly out-of-the-box. I'm going to go fall on my slide rule now, as that must be the honorable thing to do when flubbing with sig figs?
  2. @Than_Bogan I used 3 sig figs because I just enjoy seeing 2 decimal places on numbers and you'll get a distance to the nearest inch, not the nearest 4 inches.
  3. @eleeski I agree with your 2.2 m/s but you need another decimal place for good measure - so 2.23 m/s. His distance (negating drag and the fact that, from his position, his shoulder and side of his face will make a violent impact with the ramp before reaching the top) will be pretty close to 5.87m, peaking at 1.03m, for a flight time of .69 sec and his final velocity upon impact with the water will be 9.60 m/s.
  4. @MattP The voting for southern regionals will close at 5:00pm tomorrow.
  5. FWIW in the new spectrum of boats, but also in Gadsden AL, is David Clokey's MC: ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Comp_Boat&postid=33772 I'm somewhat familiar with this boat and it is indeed in mint condition. Not sure how negotiable the price is though.
  6. @broussard this was the first time the site used cameras instead of meter stands for measurement. @mmosley889 was gracious enough to come out and set everything up. The site has some limitations as far as where the cameras could be located so I assume the setup was the best it could be on short notice and short supply.
  7. Ski Bama more than made up for not being aired with their performance over the weekend at Faith Lake. Santi had the longest jump of the tournament. Nobody really knows how far it was because he out-jumped the second grid which went to 168'. That was a fun one to drive!
  8. I have a 2014 68" A3 that I need to put in someone else's ski bag. I rode it for 6 sets until I got my Vapor, and then kept it as a back up ski. It is in pristine condition and looks like a brand new ski. First $550 plus shipping takes it. I will try to post pictures tonight or tomorrow. I also have matching black/red 12" Masterline Carbon Custom Radius handle (0.88") that is literally brand new with the tag. Got it a month ago and never used it. $85 plus shipping.
  9. I've actually got this thing set up to a point now where I could quickly add the S&S package to any color combination. The possibilities are endless... No reason MC couldn't swing it as well. Heck, for the way I'm editing it, I could probably easily get a graphics company to create a decal package specifically for turning the PS into a S&S.
  10. @LakeOneSkier I like it. I also worked one up similar that's swapped around.
  11. Due to how late I am to this thread, I've been putting off reading it until I had the time to read all the comments. That being said, there is no reason that this rule couldn't be adopted into tournament use for experimentation and results analysis in a "Round X". I, for one, would give it a go at every tournament simply for the fun factor and contributing toward determining if this would be a change that AWSA should really look at.
  12. Months ago I heard talk from a reputable source about Bryant turning out a DD ski boat, and now the pieces are beginning to come together and meet the public eye. I found where Bryant has already trademarked "SKI TRACTOR" ... trademarkia.com/ski-tractor-86489603.html
  13. @jrs since I'm an Auburn grad, your new 2016 looks pretty amazing.
  14. @jhughes maybe something more like this*? *Please excuse my sloppy photoshop skills. This was just a quick try at a more modern variation of the classic look.
  15. It feels like cooler air might be settling in with all these stat based threads. Nonetheless, still interesting stuff!
  16. Obviously @MattP needs to get on the ball with compiling IWWF scores.
  17. @Horton do you need to use spell check for the word Skier in LakeOneSkier prior to having the shirts printed?
  18. Older post from 2013. FB has been doing that lately, reminding you of older posts that got a lot of attention and asking if you'd like to share / repost it. **Edit** @Wish with a sneaky recovery in his original post now makes me look silly. Kudos. As far as how many 41's now, I'd say you can't fit them all on your fingers and toes combined, but I'm not fact checking first.
  19. @Tyler_R you just put it in writing. What's the likelihood of you showing up to ski in it next year? This year was dominated by the Tigers.
  20. It was the first tournament of the the 2010 spring season for the NCWSA Eastern Region on the last weekend in March at Trophy Lakes. This was a camping tournament and everyone had high hopes as Charleston had been having great warm weather all week long so the water had warmed up to be bearable. A cold front came in Friday night bringing wind and cooler air. We woke up and when it became time for slalom to begin the air was 43 degrees and the water was a white capping tailwind of at least 25mph sustained. The people who still chose to ski at that point were rounding up all the neoprene they could find and then going out just to fall early. 6 people ran a pass that day. I was seeded in the middle round, and after watching the chaos of nobody running a pass yet, I put all of my jump gear on and headed to the dock with my jumpers. I told the boat crew to not drop me at the far end if I ran my first pass and just spin and come back in for the second pass. I dock started, ran 3 buoys at 19mph and then skied all the way back on shore in front of my tent to try to keep myself as dry and warm as possible. I've skied in windy conditions since then, but not cold like that.
  21. According the the stamp just in front of the fin block, only 11 sticks will be floating around as a 2015 model. If that remains true for 2016, this will indeed be a rare breed of ski.
  22. @tanmanski In an effort to be helpful to your request: academy.com/shop/pdp/mcdavid-adults-deluxe-calf-support?repChildCatid=33987
  23. Huge Congrats to @Ham_Wallace on landing the top spot in M6 Jump and Overall! There is some great skiing going on this week in WPB, and I expect to see more of the same!
