  1. apparently collegiate skiers, such as @MattP, also have feelings about how their gates are called... http://whatshouldwecallski.tumblr.com/post/54437430415/when-the-judges-dont-give-me-my-gates
  2. I agree with all that has been said above. Like @jwr said, keeping your shoulders closed to the ramp and not open to the boat is key. Chest definitely needs to come up from the wakes to the ramp. When working on a solid cut, I practiced cutting and took notice to my skis' position - close together (width wise) and my right ski about 3 or so inches in front of my left ski. That is essentially where it will be if you are "right foot on the gas" and your left ski should barely be in contact with the water. Relaxing your arms is pretty self explanatory - don't have a death grip on the handle.
  3. Consistantly 53 min from home or work to the private lake I have been skiing at lately. There is a private lake 5 min from work, but is invite only and priced well above my idea of "reasonable" membership rates.
  4. I may be dialing your number come September...from the pictures you have posted, you have some spare floor space....nice pad by the way.
  5. They are all the same Garmin pucks...I want to say it was about $100 or so, but can't remember right off the top of my head
  6. Trophy Lakes http://www.trophylakes.com has all but Goode, and also has Razor I believe. They do a demo program if you commit to buying a ski from them.
  7. @bhs it has stretched (permanently) some, but not much. it does loosen up after my first pass or two but generally stays pretty tight, which I love because I literally don't feel it while skiing. It takes a while to get used to zipping it - there is a bit of a learning curve. It's the same way with my CAMARO Ti shorty suit - it stretches (permanently) very slightly, but for the most part I just had to learn how to stretch it and zip it up.
  8. @jwr you're riding a new A3, right? still the same binder setup you had before? I am thinking toward the canting of your back foot may not be open enough...just a thought.
  9. Had the same issue with Star Gazer... Got replacement puck and all is well.
  10. @bhs I am 6'1 220 and have an XL. There is no way I can get on a L, but my XL is nice and snug, doesn't ride up at all, but it's not too tight and is quite comfortable. It is always easier to put on and zip when its wet though.
  11. Does anyone know if there will be a color differentiation between the lithium, graphite, and alloy? I would assume so, but haven't seen anything on this yet...I have a Vapor Graphite on order (since I'm not the prettiest style skier) and am not really sure what it will look like.
  12. technical pics here: http://waterskimag.com/uncategorized/2013/08/08/mastercrafts-new-prostar-lives-up-to-the-hype/
  13. @Rpc29 is right. I was (and am still-kinda) a big part of collegiate skiing in the SAC and see teams with minimal amounts of equipment (and sometimes borrowing equipment from other teams), but continually show up to every tournament for the love of it. 80% of collegiate teams receive no school or outside funding and literally have to beg for money to buy equipment and most collegiate skiers have to fund their own way to tournaments. This would be an awesome program if it really gets rolling so that collegiate skiing has a chance to take off with smaller, non- funded schools. @MattP, I applaud what you have done thus far with your collegiate team and I hope this program can help you guys out as well.
  14. @webbdawg99 nothing passes through @Horton quite like a bottle of Kilo Kai
  15. @MattP Does this mean he naturally gets deep in his turns?
  16. @MattP I'll be there all weekend (Jumping Saturday). My first regionals as well. Time to ball hard
  17. @Horton CP taught Yao Ming to slalom today....thus the 47 off
  18. Good day. I had a similar skiing weekend as @MattP. Then yesterday I can't run my typical opener of 32/15, run sloppy 34/15 passes, but repeatedly stroke 34/22. I'm left with a total conundrum of what to think of my skiing and wondering if I should make a drastic move with my opener.
  19. I love using Masterline ProLocks, however I always have to keep 1 or 2 pairs as backup. I usually break/rip the strap on 3-4 gloves each year. I am a C+ skier and usually hook up hard right out of the buoy, which is generally where I am when the strap breaks. The first time one broke, it actually ripped the stitching at the wrist out of the strap. That happened twice, but every time since then the strap has literally ripped in the middle. Usually this happens within the first 10 sets with the gloves. I typically have no issues with Masterline replacing them as a warranty item, so I'm not really complaining here...just interested to see if anyone else has experienced this.
  20. Well your turn and pull to 2 and 4 are night/day different. You don't carry the same intensity coming out of 1 as opposed to everywhere else. I'm assuming your intensity increased due to being at 2 and getting pulled down course before finishing your turn. I would suggest trying to balance your pulls making your turns more consistant - holding your onside pull .25 sec longer to put you wider and earlier into 2/4 allowing you to come down on the buoy....then again it could just be the driver :P
