  1. Back in the late '70's there was a guy on our lake with a Checkmate I/O that rode by my house pulling 8 skiers. He blew the horn and waved. We accepted the challenge. We rode around the lake collecting people, skis and ropes. We didn't even know some of these folks. We'd ride up to a dock and ask if they had a pair of skis and a rope. If so, we'd draft them. We pulled up 13 people(all adults) behind a 1978 Mastercraft with 4 people in the boat. It was a struggle, but we all got up. The guy in the Checkmate stopped in the middle of the lake and just watched. He never came back to our lake again.

    Fate?

I’ve always lived by the Tom Petty lyric… “ I don’t know, but I’ve been told, you never slow down, you never grow old”.
  3. Water on Robin Lake is always "busy", regardless of the wind.
  4. When The Masters stopped awarding overall, I stopped going, and I live 15 miles from Callaway. I’m 64, and I am still a 3 eventer, and will be until they pry the jump skis off my cold, dead body!
  5. Is there any way you could build me a C85 in blue, so my wife won’t know I got another new ski?
  6. Auburn University skis at my lake. So far, the university is not letting them do anything, including collecting dues. At this point, I don’t know if they’ll ever get back on track. I don’t see them making a comeback until next fall, at the earliest. Kids these days seem to lose interest fast.
  7. I’ve always called it “right foot forward “ and “correct foot forward “.
  8. Add part #121g from O'Reilly Auto Parts, and you'd really have a cool boat.
  9. At the Masters sometime in the late '70's, Kris LaPoint once told me " I pull my guts out across the wake and just get around the buoy the best I can". I've taken this to heart, just ask my ski partners...
  10. I can't compete with the carnage shown here, but my injury is both mental and physical. I'm not sure which is worse. Went skiing last Thursday after work. I purposely didn't take my jumpers, so I wouldn't risk getting hurt before my Denali C75 arrived on Friday. Had an OTF heading to the 2 ball at 28 and broke 2 ribs. You cannot imagine the mental pain I am still enduring looking at that new ski just taunting me from the corner. Probably going to be a couple of more weeks before I can try it.
  11. I was order #376, got an email Tuesday that it was ready to ship. It is now somewhere between Charlotte and Atlanta, and should be delivered tomorrow. Gonna be a great weekend!
  12. I'm on the pre-order list. Any estimate on when it will be available?
  13. Lake 38 is in Quincy, near Tallahassee. Give Kieth Albritton a call.
  14. I’m on the list. I figure if I get that ski, the new fin, and the new Masterline rope, all I’ll have to do is get up, the equipment will do the rest...
  15. I've always said, you are either RIGHT foot forward, or CORRECT foot forward! Or you could go with the earring thing...Left is right, and right is wrong...
  16. Tried to put the CG fin on my 2016 Vapor, but it was too long, wouldn't fit in the block. Any ideas? I really hate to grind on a $150 piece of aluminum.
  17. I built a lake in Alabama about 10 yrs. ago. We had to get a permit from the Corps of Engineers and one from the Ala. Dept. of Environmental Management. The Corps never gave us any trouble, but ADEM came by once a month to check everything. I'm sure Alabama is not as environmentally strict as NH. Good luck. It was totally worth the effort, building the lake, but rest assured, it was definitely a "labor of love".
  18. The original S-wing, no, wait, it's upside down, or maybe rightside up....
  19. Might try Lex Kenerly in Jesup. Not sure if he still has a jump on his lake, but worth a try.
  20. Up and running, now. http://masterswaterski.com/video/
