  1. @webbdawg99

I just had the same injury a week and a half ago. My version of it took place at 30mph and 22off at 4 ball. (1st set of the day)

Since it took longer for the ski to hit me, it had more time to rotate, and the ski tip bashed me on my right knee. My knee was ringing, like your head does when you crack it. So, I rubbed it. Felt fine, but I had Kevlar gloves on, so as the boat came back I picked my knee up and saw the gaping hole my ski had created.

I must have cut some nerves, as there was very little pain. Just a general numbness that indicated something bad had happened.

End of the story is... Swelling, Ice, Pain, and butterfly bandages. No skiing for a week, the selling of my skis so I can pick up a less advanced ski that actually matches my skill level, and a new outlook on my potential progress.

Now I have an HO Superlite TX that compliments me well. I am 6 balls up and I have less fatigue after each set.

End of story? For me , it was to get on the ski that matches my actual ability. Not what I thought was my ability.

I'm so totally jealous of your 34mph and 38off. You should be proud of your scars!!!!!!!

  2. @oldjeep, you are really going to have to make sure to lean forward on that Skwal. I had a Lacroix Skwal in a 185cm length. My hard boots were just too stiff and my ankle flex was really hindered.

Don't get me wrong, I hope you have a TON OF FUN on that ski!! Just remember that you have no rope to pull on to assist in changing edges or provide stability and Make sure your boots are dialed in.

I am going to try it again soon, but I need a shorter/wider board with a smaller side cut radius, ( I live on the East coast, so I need it)

  3. Hey-O! I've got the "Ski Trade Itch"!!! I have a 66" Obrien Conquer and a 67.5" Obrien Conquer. Both are 2014 skis, and I'll trade either one for a 68" ski. Or, if you have a 2013 or 2014 HO S2 in a 66.5 or 67.5 size.

Regardless, if you have something you think I might like, post it up! Got a 2012-2014 68" Prophecy??

  4. Well, I've got an Obrien Conquer in awesome condition and I have another one as well. I find no point in having two of the same ski, so I think I'd like to offer up the super cool looking "Blue One'' for a trade. The ski is 66" in length. The carbon structure on the top of the ski is beautiful, in fact, its nicer than the later red model.

I'd like to trade for a 68" ski if possible. Anyone have the 2012 Prophecy in a 68? Anything interesting out there?

  5. I have 2 Conquers, and both were shipped to me with the wing blades down and away from the ski. Something tells me its purely a mistake, or could have something to do with the ski hunting for an edge. My guess is uneducated, but experienced? Is that possible?
  6. I could pay off the rest of my mortgage for the cost of that new ProStar on the Boat Shows thread. I'm 32, and even if the house was paid, I still would not spend 80k for new boat. At 62, I would not spend 80k for a new boat... even if 80k was worth 40k by then.

In ten years, I'll pick up a beautiful CC200 or ProStar for 25K. For now, my Dirt Cheap, Malibu Echelon will keep yanking my arms out of their sockets just fine thank you!
