Thinking bout buying a 9800. Anyone ski one lately and have an opinion of it preferbly vs. Strada?

Ham, I have yet to ski behind a Malibu with the cut diamond hull that I like more than my 04. Bob Archambeaus is about the same, (not sure of year i think 09) but I still feel that at 22 it has more of a bump than my boat.

Ok so just wondering for other's opinions on this, I own a 2004 LXi, after skiing behind almost every ski boat this year, I actually find that the 2004 LXi beats most of them. Destroys even 2011 MC for sure and the newer LXi's, I swear are larger and harder wakes than my older LXi. Only boat's that I felt were better were a Nautique 200 and a Carbon pro.

NO powerbuoys are VERY soft and can break by hitting them hard enough with your ski! NO WAY will they hold up to a heavy wakeboard or to a boat. Way to much $$$ to invest in something that will just keep on getting taken out

which is the "best" ive considered all and on an RS-1 now. Dont really care how easy it is to come off of my ski and on to this, but im talking end result which gives (typically) best performance.

I have a chance to switch to a Strada pretty cheap, but to do it I will need to sell the RS-1, Anyone switched from the RS-1 to strada this year? thoughts?

ok so my coach keeps telling me that im not light on the line at 32.... running 28 consitently but 32 is another beast. so how do you become light on the line? also when i start a new a new line length my immediete problem is switching edge. I am on an RS-1 now (sharp bevel ski) would getting on a strata (round/sharp bevel) help with that problem??

Thank god... I have an 04 LXI.... Needless to say malibu has gone down hill. I cant get past 22" on the 09-10 yet behind my 04 i easily get deep into 32". The 22 bump KILLS on newer malibus... wonder what MC is gonna do to keep up?

Two handed gates. If you look at the top skiiers in the world (Nate and Chris P.) than they do two handed gates. Its how i learned and i only do a one handed if i pulled out waaay late and CANNOT lose the speed going into the turn in for gates. Even then i only get about to the 3 ball because of excess speed into 1 ball=slack at one ball=down course to two ball=super late to 3 ball=impossible to get to 4 ball. Of course unless you can somehow get a super turn out of one and two.

I learned that 28 isnt as hard as people say! I also learned that malibu will really answer with the new TXi!!!

sorry guys, he dosnt sell them much. He got Chris Rossi to come to my lake in KY and Chris must have said something good to him because he said that he could get me one for 500. more of a personal thing.

New Strada (will be 2012 they are making HUGE imporvments to that ski) basically the radar rep got me a 2012 for 500$ if i want it

that was another possibility, local dealership told me that they could get me one for about $500 so strada is a real possibilty

Ok so Im on the RS-1 now. The ski has been great to me, went from 36 at the begging of the season to now running 28 consitantly, and getting 2@32 everyday(which is annoying cause i cant get 1 or 3....). Been looking at a GOODE 9900 or 9800. I just want a ski that will give me a fighting chance when im running late and one that is a little quicker around the buoy.

Well as far as money goes, frankly as long as I can have a boat and a ski (new ski) I don't give a rat's ass about pay

Ok so what would be considered an ideal ski job? One that pays enough to have a nice up to date boat and you can takes the time off for all the tournaments?

After researching and talking to some guys in my state who get down to about -39 I decided that I'm accustomed to my RadaR, a sharp bevel ski and to switch to a Goode, a round bevel ski, would take too long and I don't have that time. I started skiing 3 years ago and news to play catch up as it is seeing as I'm into -28 and all my competition is at 1@-32

Just got off the phone with GOODE and they said that the 9800 can be drilled into as long as you have the tech at goode helping you. Doing it correctly has no risk to it. In the 9900 they decided to leave out the extra glass plate so that you would have to buy there plate (thanks alot DAVE) so all in all the 9800's drilled CORRECTLEY is OK

What is about the cheapest I could get a G10 plate and some velco for a goode? How much Velcro would i need?

Few of my friends have gotten on me for never trying a GOODE. How do the 9800's match up to the Radar RS-1? Is it absolutly prohibited to drill into it?
