  1. OF COURSE YOU SKI! I skied the morning of my own wedding. Same situation weather wasn't the best but cloudy cool weather skiing is better than no skiing. Plus no better way to start off a marrige, was relaxed and happy knowing I got to ski and took my mind of the nerves. Plus does she ski? She would want you to be happy too! Congrats to you and your daughter!
  2. Ya this could of been a real nightmare. I think it was a pretty good story. Glad to hear you didn't get hurt. That ski could of put you out more than just nationals. I never have had to deal with D3 directly but I will say if it is one thing this sport is good at it would be customer service. From equipment sales, to coaching, even different tournament staff! Keep it up guys!
  3. Get full points for 1 trick at tourneys! If I wanted to ski at nationals I had to learn 1 trick. Still trick to the day, can't do much besides some basic surface tricks but love it!

  8. Between working 8-5, living 45 min away from our public lake, not having a boat, or a course how often do you all get to ski? Couple questions: 1. How often do you get to ski? 2. Do you live on a lake? 3. Do you have a boat and driver at your dock at your convenience? 4. Are you part of a club? 5. How close is the nearest skiing and what's your availability? 6. Any suggestions to help out my current situation? Currently living in Indiana while my wife is at school in TN. Moving to TN in the spring, possibly between Clarksville and Nashville. Potentially going to be working from home or looking for a new job (preferably one that is more accommodating to a friendlier ski schedule). Either way just needing to ski a lot more....
  9. @03lightning‌ Thank you for your service! Hope you find some local ballers to ski with!
  10. And by "bum" of course I'll pay for some fuel!
  11. Anyone on or near Kentucky Lake around Paris, TN that is looking for a third or I can bum a pull from? I'm down in that area every other weekend and the only ppl I know on the lake wakeboard and don't have any decent set up for a little slalom.
  12. @inland‌ not sure what you are asking...
  13. I wrote a post a year ago looking for some career and job advise as I was stepping into some huge changes in my life. I had recently graduated college, was starting to obtain significant responsibilities at work, and was engaged with the potential that my now wife was going to get accepted into physicians assistant school someplace else in the country. Sure enough the day after our honeymoon she found out she had been accepted into a program 7.5 hours away in west Tennessee and started January 2014. As this year has continued on I have been making the trip from Indiana to see her every other weekend and the talks of moving to Tennessee have began to increase as we really love what the state and area has to offer. Over the last couple months I have been doing some research about the area and trying to get an idea on the markets and different locations. For the last 1.5 years I have been working for large MEP contractor as an electrical project manger/estimator but am very unfamiliar with the TN construction market. I am assuming the Nashville area is going to be my best opportunity for employment but wanted to get some of your thoughts. The other obvious issue is skiing availability. Part of the discussion for moving south is just that, more skiing. Not to mention the hiking, biking, camping and hunting. We are currently on a public lake and I ski with a couple of guys on the river in town but water is obviously extremely important to us. We want to have easy access to the water, which I am learning isn't to hard to do in TN, to be close to a ski club or even have a course of my own at some point. So I guess to simplify I am curious to know what the construction market or facilities management operations are and/or potential leads or opportunities in specific areas. Also with that, what or where are some of the ski clubs and rules/restrictions of individual courses on the rivers. Thanks All!
  14. @ShaneH there is no such thing as too much beer, there is only such a thing as not working any of that beer off.
  15. So I decided today that I have sat around and drank too much beer without working a whole lot of it off this winter. Anyone else there with me?! Haha Since starting late is better than not starting at all I need some good workouts to start doing at home before I hit the water. Been doing some at home strength exercises but nothing focused. What are some exercises y'all do to get prepared for the new ski year?
  16. That I need to get out on the water and ski a whole lot more!!
  17. What's the differnece/benefits between a 3 and 4 blade prop?
  18. I am wanting to build a smaller bar for my home and have the front of it be wooden water skis? has anyone else thought of this or have awesome bars with ski related themes?
  19. Thanks for all the advice. We still have a good 6-8 months before we even find out about the status of her school then a year before she would start. No matter what happens I'm confident it will all work out. One positive is that she applied to much warmer states which would most definatly allow us to ski more throughout the year! One thing we both know is that we can always find an escape on the water. Now for what we all are really here for, I ski a 64.5 D3 Custom X5. PB last season 1 @ 21off, haven't quite got there yet this season. Going out tonight after work! She's skiing a 64 KD7000. She loves to free ski and I'm trying to get her on the course this year.
  20. I am reaching out to my fellow ballers for some job/career advice. Here is my situation: I recently graduated college and hired on with the company I interned with for 3 summers. At the end of the 3rd summer my supervisor told me I have a great potential and after several years in the trade and completion of an MBA that he foresees me to take over his position when he would retire. I have been working with the company full time now for 6 months and have since gotten engaged. My fiancé is currently working as a nurse tech while she is trying toget into PA school. There is a school close to wear I work but since the program is tough to get into there is no guarantee she gets accepted there. Since she is applying to schools all over the country and school is a 2.5 year process and we do not plan to live apart for that long, especially after being newly married. I'm not worried about finding a new job where ever her schooling would take us and we have every intention of coming back after school is over, however if I leave the company after a short 1.5-2 years at this job are they going to be upset for leaving and leaving so soon that they won't consider having me back. So the issue we are most likely going to be facing is do I give up an opportunity to become a division head in a half a billion dollar company and move with her so she can complete PA school or does she give up an opportunity for a tough program and put her entire career on hold? I would like to think that if I would leave in good standing with the company I am currently working for that I shouldn't have a problem coming back but is that a worthwhile risk? It's not like I want to leave, and I would only be leaving for my wife just for a few years. What would you do? How would you as a manager/supervisor feel? Any other advice?
  21. Electrical Engineer/Estimator for a large MEP contractor
  22. I'm Kale from Fort Wayne, IN. I have been skiing since I was 12 but didn't start skiing the course and competitively until college. I began skiing at IPFW in Fort Wayne for 2 years then transferred to Purdue in West Lafayette, IN and was a part of the Purdue Waterski Team for 3 more years. Collegiate skiing was the best thing for my skiing and college experience. Learned so much about the sport in my college years as well as meet a ton of great people. If you are in college or about to begin look around at what the schools have to offer and ski on a collegiate club team, even if you are just a newbie like we all were! Now that I'm graduated and at home I ski with a few other local skiers when I get the chance. Great to meet new people in the sport because it gives me a chance to get on the water and behind a boat since I do not have a place or boat of my own yet. Boiler Up!
  23. You don't enjoy Hoosier anything when you graduated from Purdue! Boiler Up!
  24. I live in Indiana an travelling to Michigan to stay and snow ski on the regular is way to expensive. What do others do to pass the winter months?
